What is Voltaren Forte 2.32% Gel is and what it is used
Voltaren Forte 2.32% Gel contains the active ingredient diclofenac diethylamine which belongs to the group of medicines known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Voltaren Forte 2.32% Gel is specially designed formulation of rubbing and hard through the skin. Thus, the active ingredient reaches the targeted depth within the inflamed tissue.
Voltaren FORTE 2.32% gel is used to treat pain, reduce inflammation and swelling in a number of painful conditions affecting the joints and muscles.

FORTE Voltaren Gel 2.32% is suitable for the treatment of:
Adults and adolescents over 14 years:
Muscle and joint injuries (sprains, dislocations, strains, bruises, back pain, sports injuries). Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32% leads to rapid relief of moderate to severe pain, improves mobility of patients and helps to restore the normal state;
Inflammation of the tendons (such as "tennis elbow"), swelling of the elbow or knee.
Adults (over 18 years):
Mild forms of arthritis of the knees or toes.
2. What you should know before using Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%
Do not use Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance diclofenac or other medicines for the treatment of pain, fever or inflammation, such as ibuprofen or acetylsalicylic acid (a substance used to reduce blood clotting), or any of the other ingredients of Voltaren Forte 2.32% gel (listed in section 6). Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include; wheezing or shortness of breath (asthma); skin rash or hives, swelling of the face or tongue; fever;
If you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy;
If you are under 14 years.
Do not use Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32% if any of these apply to you.

Warnings and Precautions
Do not use Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32% on skin conditions such as cuts or open sores, rashes or eczema. Discontinue treatment if you develop pustular rash after applying Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%;
Avoid use on large areas of skin for a prolonged period of time, except in the case of the physician;
Voltaren Forte 2.32% Gel is for external use only. Do not use Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32% in the mouth. Do not swallow Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%. Wash hands after use. Watch Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32% to not get in your eyes. If this happens, rinse your eyes with clean water. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you continue to feel some discomfort;
To apply it in elastic bandages or dressings that are commonly used in trauma, such as sprains or dislocations, but do not use in stopping the flow of air plastic bandages.

Children and adolescents under 14 years of age
There are insufficient data on the efficacy and safety of Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%, when used in children and adolescents under 14 years (see section 2 "What you should know before using Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%").
In adolescents 14 years and if necessary use of Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32% for pain relief more than 7 days or if symptoms worsen, it is recommended that patients or their parents to seek medical attention.

Other medicines and Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

Pregnancy and lactation
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or planning to become pregnant, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine. Voltaren Forte 2.32% Gel should not be used last 3 months of pregnancy because it may harm your unborn baby or cause birth complications. Voltaren Forte 2.32% Gel should be applied only after medical advice during the first 6 months of pregnancy, the dose can be as low and duration of treatment as short as possible.
Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier should be used only after medical advice during lactation as diclofenac passes into breast milk in small amounts.
Due to this circumstance Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier must not be applied on the breasts of lactating mothers, or elsewhere on the large areas of the skin for an extended period of time.
For more information consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Voltaren Forte 2.32% Gel contains:
Propylene glycol, which may cause a slight localized skin irritation in some people;
Butylhydroxytoluene which may cause local skin reactions (eg. Contact dermatitis) or irritation to the eyes or mucous membranes.
H. How to use Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%
Always use Voltaren Forte 2.32% Gel exactly as described in this leaflet or as you told your doctor or pharmacist. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

How Voltaren Gel 2.32% FORTE use
Adults and children over 14 years:
Apply Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32% 2 times daily (morning and evening) on the painful area, which provides continuing up to 12 hours of pain relief.

How to use Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%
1. During the first unscrew and remove the cap. Remove the tube by placing the opposite side of the cap and turn.
2. Squeeze a small amount of gel from the tube and slowly rub the skin over the painful or swollen area. The required amount depends on the size of the painful or swollen portion. Usually an amount ranging in size from a cherry nut sufficiently. You may experience slight cooling effect, while rub the gel.
3. To avoid accidental contact with eyes or mouth after use, wash your hands except in cases where they are treated area (see item 2. "What should I use Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%).
Voltaren Forte 2.32% Gel is for external use only.

How long to use Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%
Do not use Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32% more than:
Adults and adolescents over 14 years
2 weeks - in muscle and joint injuries (sprains, dislocations, strains, bruises) and inflammation of the tendons.
Adults (over 18 years)
3 weeks - arthritis.
A longer period of treatment may be recommended by a doctor.
If within 7 days the pain and swelling does not decrease or your condition worsens, tell your doctor.

If you use more than the amount of Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%
if you are squeezed more than necessary amount of gel, wipe off any excess with a cloth;
if you or a child accidentally swallows Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%, immediately contact your doctor.
If you forget to use Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%
If you forget to use Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%, apply it as soon as you remember and carry on as usual.
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines Voltaren Forte 2.32% Gel can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Some rare and very rare side effects can be serious.
If you notice any of these signs of an allergy, stop using Voltaren Forte 2.32% Gel and tell your doctor or pharmacist:
Skin rash with blistering of the skin; hives (these may affect between 1 and 10 in every 10,000 people). Wheezing, shortness of breath or tightness in the chest (asthma) (may affect less than 1 in 10,000 people);
Swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat (may affect less than 1 in 10,000 people).
Other side effects that may occur are usually mild, fleeting and harmless. (If you notice any of these, tell your doctor or pharmacist.)
Common side effects (may affect between 1 and 10 in every 100 people):
Skin rash, itching, redness or stinging of the skin.
Very rare side effects (may affect less than 1 in 10,000 people):
The skin may be more sensitive when exposed to sunlight. Possible sunburn with itching, swelling and blisters.
If you get any side effects, tell your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any possible effects not listed in this leaflet.

5. How to store Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Do not use Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32% after the expiry date stated on the packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Voltaren Forte 2.32% Gel does not require any special storage conditions.
Do not dispose of medications in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

6. Contents of the pack and other information
What Voltaren Gel Forte 2.32%
The active ingredient is diclofenac diethylamine. Each gram of gel contains 23.2 mg diclofenac diethylamine.
The other ingredients (excipients) include: butylated hydroxytoluene, carbomer, kokoilkaprilokaprat, diethylamine, isopropyl alcohol, liquid paraffin, macrogol tsetosterileter, oleyl alcohol, propylene glycol, flavorant (eucalyptus), purified water.
