WHAT CONTROLOC 20 MG AND WHAT IT IS USED
20 mg a selective inhibitor of proton pump - a drug which reduces the formation of acid in the stomach. It is used to treat diseases of the stomach and intestines caused by the increased production of acid in the stomach.

CONTROLOC 20 mg is used for:
Adults and children over 12 years:
Treating symptoms (eg heartburn, acid regurgitation, pain on swallowing) associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease caused by reflux of acid from the stomach into the esophagus;
Long-term treatment of reflux oesophagitis (inflammation of the esophagus, accompanied from the return of stomach acid into the esophagus) and prevent recurrence of this condition.
Adults
Prevention of duodenal and gastric ulcers caused by the adoption of the so-called. nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs, eg. ibuprofen) in patients at risk who need to take NSAIDs for a long time.

2. BEFORE TAKE CONTROLOC 20 MG
Do not take CONTROLOC  20 mg of
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to pantoprazole or any other constituents of CONTROLOC 20 mg (see section 6).;
If you are allergic to medicines containing other proton pump inhibitors.
Take special care with CONTROLOC 20 mg of
If you have severe liver problems. Please tell your doctor if you have ever had liver problems. He will check your liver enzymes more frequently, especially if you take 20 mg a long time. In the event of elevated liver enzymes the treatment should be stopped;
If you need to take NSAIDs continuously and receive CONTROLOC 20 mg, because you have an increased risk of developing stomach or intestinal complications. The increased risk associated with your personal risk factors such as your age (over 65 years), a history of stomach or duodenal ulcers or gastric or intestinal bleeding;
If you have reduced body stores or risk factors for reduced vitamin B12 and receive continuous treatment with pantoprazole. As with all acid reducing agents, pantoprazole can lead to reduced absorption of vitamin B12;
If you are taking a medicine containing atazanavir (for the treatment of AIDS), together with pantoprazole, ask your doctor.
Tell your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following conditions:
Unwanted weight loss;
Repeated vomiting;
Difficulty swallowing;
Vomiting blood;
You look pale and feel weak (anemia);
Notice blood in your stools;
Severe and / or persistent diarrhea, as Protium 20 mg was associated with a small increase in infectious diarrhea.
Your doctor may decide that you need some tests to rule out malignant disease because pantoprazole also alleviates the symptoms of cancer and can delay diagnosis. If your symptoms persist despite treatment, should be discussed further research.
If you are taking CONTROLOC 20 mg as a long-term treatment (more than 1 year) your doctor will probably keep you under observation. You should inform your doctor about any new or unusual symptoms and conditions.

If you are taking other medicines
CONTROLOC 20 mg may influence the effectiveness of other medicines, so tell your doctor if you take:
Medicines such as ketoconazole, itraconazole and posaconazole (used to treat fungal infections) or erlotinib (used to treat certain types of cancer) because CONTROLOC  20 mg gastro-resistant tablets can prevent those medicines from working properly;
Warfarin and phenprocoumon, which thicken or thin the blood. You may need to perform additional studies;
Atazanavir (used to treat HIV).
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Pregnancy and lactation
There are no adequate data from the use of pantonrazol in pregnant women. There are reports of separation in breast milk. If you are pregnant or think you are pregnant or breast-feeding. You should take 20 mg a only if your doctor considers that the benefits for you are greater than the potential risks to your child.

3. HOW TO TAKE CONTROLOC 20 MG
Always take CONTROLOC 20 mg of e exactly as told by your doctor. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure of something.

When and how should you take CONTROLOC 20 mg?
CONTROLOC 20 mg is taken one hour before meals with a little water, not chew or crush the tablet.
If your doctor has otherwise prescribed, the usual dose is:
Adults and children over the age of 12
Treating symptoms (eg. Heartburn, acid regurgitation, pain on swallowing) associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease:
The usual dose is 1 tablet daily. This dose usually leads to improvement for 2-4 weeks at most after another 4 weeks. Your doctor will tell you how long to take the drug. Then preventing relapses can be done by taking one tablet a day if needed.

Long-term treatment of reflux oesophagitis (inflammation of the esophagus, accompanied by a return of heartburn and esophageal) and prevent recurrence of this condition:
The usual dose is 1 tablet daily. If the disease recurs, your doctor can double the dose, in which case you can use Protium 20 mg 40 mg tablets, one tablet daily. After healing can reduce the dosage to one tablet of 20 mg daily.

Adults:
Prevention of duodenal and stomach in patients who need to take NSAIDs for a long time.
The usual dose is 1 tablet daily.

Special populations:

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, CONTROLOC 20 mg may cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The frequency of possible side effects can be defined as follows:
very common: affects more than 1 user in 10;
common: affects 1 to 10 users in 100;
Uncommon: affects 1 to 10 users in 1000;
rare: affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000;
very rare: affects less than 1 user in 10 000;
not known (frequency can not be estimated from available data).
If you experience any of these side effects, stop taking the medicine and tell your doctor immediately or contact the nearest hospital:

Serious allergic reactions (frequency: rare): swelling of the tongue and / or throat, difficulty in swallowing, urticaria (hives), difficulty breathing, allergic facial swelling (edema edema / angioedema), severe dizziness with very fast heartbeat and heavy sweating.

Serious skin reactions (frequency not known): blistering and rapid deterioration of general condition, ulcers (incl. Slight bleeding) of eyes, nose, mouth / lips or external genitalia (syndrome Stevens-Johnson, syndrome Lyell, multiple erythema ) and sensitivity to light.

Other serious conditions (frequency not known): yellowing of the skin or eyes (severe damage to liver cells, jaundice) or fever, rash, enlarged kidneys, sometimes with painful urination and lower back pain (serious inflammation of the kidneys).

Other side effects are:
Uncommon (affects 1 to 10 of 1000 users):
Headache; fatigue; diarrhea; malaise, vomiting; bloating and flatulence; constipation; dry mouth; colic and discomfort; skin rash; flushing, bumpy rash; itching; feeling weak, feeling of fatigue or malaise; sleep disorder.
Rare (affects 1 to 10 in 10,000 users):
Distortion or complete loss of sense of taste; visual disturbances such as blurred vision; hives (urticaria); joint pain; muscle pain; changes in body weight; fever; high fever; swelling of the extremities (peripheral edema); allergic reactions; depression, breast enlargement in men.
Very rare (affects less than 1 in 10,000 users):
Disorientation.
Not known (frequency can not be estimated from available data):
Hallucinations, confusion (especially in patients with a history of these symptoms); reduced level of sodium in the blood, low levels of magnesium in the blood.
Side effects identified through blood tests:
Uncommon (affects 1 to 10 of 1000 users):
increases in liver enzymes.
Rare (affects 1 to 10 in 10,000 users):
increase in bilirubin; increasing the level of fat in the blood; a sharp drop in circulating granular white blood cells associated with high fever.
Very rare (affects less than 1 in 10,000 users):
reduction of platelet count, which can lead to bleeding or bruising more easily than normal, a reduction in the number of white blood cells which can lead to more frequent infections; both reduce the number of red and white blood cells, and platelets.
If any of the side effects gets serious, or notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

5. HOW TO STORE CONTROLOC 20 MG;
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use CONTROLOC 20 mg after the expiry date stated on the box and blister after "EXP". The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.
Medicines should not be disposed of in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help protect the environment.

What CONTROLOC 20 mg of
The active substance is pantoprazole. A gastro-resistant tablet contains 20 mg of pantoprazole (pantoprazole sodium sesquihydrate).

Other ingredients are:
Core: Sodium carbonate (anhydrous), mannitol, crospovidone, povidone K90, calcium stearate.
Coating: Hypromellose, Povidone K25, titanium dioxide (E 171), yellow iron oxide (E172), propylene glycol, methacrylic acid-ethyl acrylate copolymer (1: 1), polysorbate 80, sodium lauryl sulfate, triethyl citrate.
Printing ink: Shellac, red, black and yellow iron oxide (E172) and concentrated ammonia solution.
