WHAT MINIRIN IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
The active substance in Minirin acts like the natural hormone nasopressin and regulates the kidneys' ability to concentrate urine.

Minirin is indicated for the treatment of:

Tasteless diabetes of central origin (disorder of the pituitary gland, which leads to severe thirst and prolonged production of a large volume of diluted urine);
Primary sweaty urination in children over 5 years of age with normal ability to concentrate urine;
Symptomatic treatment of nocturia in adults associated with nocturnal polyuria in adults (urine production at night exceeding bladder capacity).

2. BEFORE YOU USE MINIRIN
When used for primary nocturnal enuresis and nocturnal polyuria, fluid intake to quench thirst should be limited in the period 1 hour before to 8 hours after taking Minirin.
Minirin should be used with caution when the balance is disturbed
liquids.

if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active substance or to any of the other ingredients of Minirin;
if you suffer from polydipsia (abnormally high fluid intake);
if you have a history of suspected or suspected heart failure and other conditions requiring diuretic treatment;
if you have moderate to severe kidney failure;
if you have low levels of sodium in your blood (hyponatraemia);
if you have ADHD secretion syndrome.
Take special care with Minirin:

if you are taking Minirin with any other medicines that are known to stimulate the syndrome of inadequate secretion of ADH or NSAIDs. Please see the section "Taking other medicines";
if your fluid and / or electrolyte balance is disturbed as a result of an acute comorbidity (such as systemic infections, fever, gastroenteritis);
if you have a condition of severe bladder dysfunction and obstruction at the exit;

Taking other medications
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Concomitant treatment with some drugs known to stimulate the syndrome of inadequate secretion of ADH - against depression (tricyclic antidepressants, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), chlorpromazine (against psychosis), carbamazepine (against epilepsy), loperamide (against diarrhea) ), drugs that slow the intestinal passage, some that eliminate pain and inflammation (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) may increase the effect of Minirin with an increased risk of abnormal fluid accumulation in the body.
Concomitant treatment with dimethicone (against flatulence) may lead to reduced absorption of Minirin.
