WHAT IS LIDOCAINE AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR

Lidocaine contains the active substance lidocaine hydrochloride, which belongs to medicines called local anesthetics. It also belongs to the group of so-called antiarrhythmic drugs. It is used for:

local anesthesia (analgesia) when conducting various painful procedures and research in surgery, dentistry and others;
treatment of severe heart rhythm disorders (ventricular arrhythmias), including after myocardial infarction.
2. BEFORE BEGINNING LIDOCAINE TREATMENT
You should not be given Lidocaine Sopharma:
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to lidocaine or other pain relievers;
in the following diseases: porphyria (congenital, chronic disease); heart disease that is associated with a violation of cardiac conduction (sinoatrial block, atrioventricular block); epilepsy; cardiogenic shock, hypovolemia (reduced volume of circulating blood).
Lidocaine should be used with caution in the following cases:
in patients over 65 years of age, cardiovascular insufficiency, slow heart rate, breathing problems, kidney or liver disease, myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness). In these cases, the drug can be administered in a lower dosage. If anxiety, tinnitus, blurred vision, trembling of the limbs, drowsiness appear during the administration of the drug, immediately inform the attending physician. These manifestations may require discontinuation of treatment.
Use of other drugs
Before you are given lidocaine, tell your doctor if you are taking any medications:

to treat mental illness (sultopride);
for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias;
to lower blood pressure such as beta-blockers (propranolol);
for the treatment of peptic ulcer disease (cimetidine);
for the treatment of epilepsy.
Please tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including those obtained without a prescription.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Before taking any medicine during pregnancy, be sure to consult your doctor.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. He will decide whether to apply Lidocaine Sopharma and in what dosage.

Driving and using machines
Lidocaine Sopharma affects to a small extent the ability to drive and operate machines when it is applied as a local anesthetic in dentistry and in outpatient surgical manipulations. In some cases, it can cause hypotension and drowsiness, therefore driving and operating machinery should be avoided until these symptoms have passed.

3. HOW TO USE LIDOCAIN
Lidocaine Sopharma is a medicinal product that can only be administered by a doctor or dentist. The dosage and method of administration are determined by them.
When used to treat severe rhythm disorders, Lidocaine Sopharma is administered intravenously and, in rarer cases, intramuscularly by qualified medical personnel.

If you have any further questions regarding the use of this product, please ask your doctor or dentist.

4. POSSIBLE ADVERSE REACTIONS
