Zyrtec-D is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, such as nasal congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea (runny nose), itching of the nose and eyes.

What is Zyrtec-D and what it is used
Zyrtec-D is combined antiallergic agent.
Zyrtec-D is indicated for the treatment of symptoms of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, such as nasal congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea (runny nose), itching of the nose and eyes.
Zyrtec-D should be used when needed and hypoallergenic properties of cetirizine dihydrochloride and the action of the nasal decongestant pseudoephedrine hydrochloride to unclog nose.

2 What you should know before taking Zyrtec-D
Do not take Zyrtec-D
If you are allergic to the active substances or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in Section 6) to ephedrine or other piperazines;
If you have high blood pressure and serious damage to the vessels of the heart;
If you have a severe impairment of renal activity;
If you are the thyroid gland;
If you have severe heart rhythm disturbances;
If you have a tumor called pheochromocytoma;
If you have increased pressure;
If you have problems with urination;
If you have a stroke or an increased risk of cerebral hemorrhage.
Zyrtec-D is contraindicated in patients concomitantly treated with:
dehidroergotamin;
MAO inhibitors (antidepressants), and two weeks after its discontinuation.
Warnings and Precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Zyrtec-D.
Not recommended Zyrtec-D in children under the age of 12 years.

Other medicines and Zyrtec-D
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines.

Zyrtec-D with food, beverages and alcohol
You can take Zyrtec-D with or without food. Do not take Zyrtec-D with alcohol.

Pregnancy and lactation:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, you may be pregnant or planning to become pregnant, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine.
Do not take Zyrtec-D if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Driving and using machines
Zyrtec-D at the recommended dose is not expected to cause sleepiness or less alert. At doses higher than normally recommended, may occur effects on the central nervous system (see "Possible side effects"). Do not drive or operate potentially dangerous machinery if you feel drowsy or dizzy, or if you exceed the recommended dose.
Zyrtec-D contains lactose. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars, consult before taking this medicine.

3 How to take Zirgek-D
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as you have been told by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The tablets should be swallowed with a glass of liquid.
The tablet should be swallowed whole without chewing or breaking.

Adults and children over 12 years
The usual dose is one tablet twice daily (morning and evening).

Patients with moderate to severe renal or hepatic impairment
In patients with moderate renal or hepatic impairment, the dose should be reduced to one tablet per day.
If you feel that the effect of Zyrtec-D is too weak or too strong, please consult your doctor.

Duration of treatment:
The duration of treatment should not exceed the duration of symptoms, or more than 2-3 weeks. In relieving nasal symptoms, if necessary, treatment should be continued with cetirizine.

If you take more Zyrtec-D
Tell your doctor immediately if you take more tablets.
After an overdose of Zyrtec-D, treatment is symptomatic and supportive, taking into account any concomitantly administered drugs. If no spontaneous vomiting occurs, it should be induced. Recommended gastric lavage. There is no specific antidote (antidote). Cetirizine and pseudoephedrine eliminate minor hemodialysis.

If you forget to take Zyrtec-D
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you stop taking Zyrtec
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4 Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Common: may affect 1 to 10 users in 100 patients:
nervousness, insomnia;
vertigo, dizziness, headache, drowsiness;
rapid pulse;
dry mouth, nausea;
fatigue.
Uncommon: may affect 1 to 10 in every 1000 patients:
restlessness, anxiety.
Rare: may affect 1 to 10 users in 10,000 patients:
hypersensitivity (allergy);
hallucinations;
convulsions, tremor;
rhythm disturbances of the heart;
pallor, increased blood pressure;
vomiting;
abnormal liver function (enhancement of certain enzyme);
dry skin, rash, increased sweating, itching;
difficult and painful urination.
Very rare: may affect up to 1 in 10,000 patients:
psychosis;
altered taste, cerebrovascular accident (stroke);
circulatory collapse (circulatory disorders);
ischemic colitis;
fixed drug eruption, angioedema (a serious allergic reaction which causes swelling of the face or throat).
Not known:
accommodation disorder, blurred vision, pupillary dilation, eye pain, visual impairment, increased sensitivity of eyes to light;
shortness of breath.
If you get any side effects, tell your doctor or pharmacist. This includes all listed in this leaflet.

5 How to store Zyrtec-D
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and blister. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.

6 Package Contents and more information
Contents of Zyrtec-D
The active substances are: cetirizine hydrochloride and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride.

Other ingredients are:
Core: hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, silica colloidal anhydrous, magnesium stearate, lactose monohydrate, croscarmellose sodium.
Film coating: hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), macrogol 400.
Zyrtec-D tablets are packaged in blister packs and in cartons.

Each tablet contains 5 mg of cetirizine dihydrochloride IR and 120 mg pseudoephedrine hydrochloride sustained release.

White to off-white, round, biconvex tablets.
