Zyprexa belongs to a group of medicines called antipsychotics.
Zyprexa is used to treat diseases that have symptoms such as hearing, seeing or sensing things, delusional thinking, suspiciousness, and becoming withdrawn. Persons with this disorder may
feel depressed, anxious or experiencing anxiety.

Before taking Zyprexa

Do not take Zyprexa

- If you are allergic to olanzapine or any of the ingredients of Zyprexa. An allergic reaction may be recognized by a rash , itching, swollen face, swollen lips or shortness of breath . If this happens , contact your doctor.
- If you have been diagnosed with glaucoma .

Be careful with Zyprexa

- Drugs of this type may cause unusual movements mainly of the face and tongue. If this happens after you have been taking Zyprexa , tell your doctor.
- Very rare medicines of this type cause a combination of fever, faster breathing, sweating , muscle cramps , and drowsiness or insomnia. If this happens after you have been drinking Zyprexa, tell your doctor immediately.
- It is not recommended that Zyprexa in elderly patients with dementia , as may occur serious adverse reactions.

If you suffer from any of the following illnesses tell your doctor as soon as possible :

- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- Liver or kidney disease
- Parkinson's disease
- epilepsy
- Prostate problems
- Paralytic ileus
- Blood disorders
- Stroke or " mini " stroke

pregnancy :
You should not take this medicine if you are pregnant unless you have discussed with your doctor .

You should not take this medicine when breast-feeding, as small amounts Zyprexa can pass into breast milk.

Driving and using machines:
Are likely to feel dizzy when taking Zyprexa. If this happens do not drive or operate machinery.

Important information about some of the ingredients of Zyprexa

Patients should not take lactose should not drink Zyprexa, because it contains lactose .

How to take Zyprexa?

Possible side effects

Side effects of Zyprexa may include:
sleepiness or extreme tiredness, weight gain, dizziness , increased hunger , water retention , constipation , dry mouth , anxiety, abnormal movements , tremors , muscle rigidity and spasms, problems with speech and changes in the levels of some blood cells and blood lipids . Very rarely, some patients can develop inflammation of the pancreas causing severe stomach pain, fever and vomiting.

Some people may feel dizzy or faint at the beginning of treatment , especially when getting up from a lying or sitting position. This phenomenon usually goes away , but if not, you should consult your doctor .
Very rare that in some patients there is an abnormal heart rhythm , which can be serious.
While taking olanzapine , elderly patients with dementia may suffer from stroke , pneumonia , urinary incontinence , falls, extreme tiredness, visual hallucinations, a rise in body temperature, redness of the skin and have trouble walking .
In patients with Parkinson's disease , Zyprexa can cause aggravation of symptoms .

Rarely Zyprexa can cause an allergic reaction , slow heartbeat, or cause photosensitivity. Very rare cases of liver disease, prolonged and / or painful erection or problems with urination , lower normal body temperature, blood clots, such as deep venous thrombosis of the leg and muscle disease presenting as unexplained aches and pains .
