Zofran injection is a sterile aqueous solution - clear and colorless. Each 1 mL of solution contains 2 ml drug - ondansetron as the hydrochloride dihydrate. Zofran inzhektsienen solution contains the following inactive ingredients: sodium chloride, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate and water for injections.
Zofran injection comes in glass vials containing 4 ml of ondansetron in 2 ml or 8 ml of ondansetron in 4 ml.
What is Zofran and what it is used?
Zofran belongs to a group of medicines called antiemetics. Some treatments may cause the release of a substance that can cause nausea and vomiting. Zofran blocks the action of this substance and thus prevents nausea and vomiting.
Your doctor has determined that this medicine is suitable for you and your condition. Zofran injection is prescribed to stop the nausea and vomiting after chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery.
Before use of Zofran injection

Are you allergic to Zofran, Ondansetron, ingredients of Zofran injection or any other anti-emetic medicine?
Have you delayed passage of the bowel? Do you suffer from severe constipation?
Are you pregnant? Are you trying to get pregnant?
Are you breast feeding?
Do you suffer from liver disease?
Tell your doctor about all other medicines you are taking, including those awarded without a prescription.
How to apply Zofran injection?
You'll never have to use this drug alone. Zofran injection is administered by a medical practitioner who is experienced in the use of this medicine. Zofran injection dose depends on the treatment that is given to you.
Causes I Zofran injection side effects?
This medicine does not cause problems for the majority of patients. But like any other drug, the product may cause side effects. Some patients may develop an allergic reaction to the drug. If shortly after Zofran injection occurs any of the following symptoms, you should tell your doctor:
Sudden wheezing and chest pain or tightness in the chest.
Swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, mouth or tongue.
Skin rash or hives anywhere on the body.
Very rarely these side effects, but if any of them occurs, tell your doctor:
Abnormal eye movements / upward / abnormal muscle stiffness, tremor and spontaneous movements of the body.
Rarely, patients may get blurred vision and very rarely suffer from temporary blindness, which usually resolves in less than 20 minutes. Tell your doctor if any of these side effects occur when you:
Delays or changes in heart rhythm
Sensation of warmth or flushing.
Irritation at the site of administration, such as pain, warmth, swelling, redness or itching
If you need to make your blood tests to check liver function, note that this medicine may affect the results.
Effects on ability to drive and use machines.
In psychomotor testing found that ondansetron does not affect implementation of the action and no sedation.
