What is Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier and what it is used
The active ingredient in Voltaren Gel is 1.16% diclofenac diethylamine which belongs to the group of medicines known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier is specially designed formulation for rubbing into the skin. Voltaren emulsifier 1.16% gel is used to treat pain, inflammation and swelling in a number of painful conditions affecting the joints and muscles.

It is suitable for the treatment of:
Adults and adolescents over 14 years:
Muscle and joint injuries (sprains, dislocations, strains, bruises, back pain, sports injuries);
Inflammation of the tendons (such as "tennis elbow").
Adults (over 18 years):
Mild forms of arthritis of the knees or toes.
2. What you should know before using Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier
Do not use Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance diclofenac or any of the other ingredients of Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier, as well as other drugs to treat pain, fever or inflammation, like ibuprofen or acetylsalicylic acid (a substance used to reduce blood clotting), or any of the other ingredients of VOLTAREN emulsifier Gel 1.16% (see section 6 of this leaflet). Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure. Symptoms of an allergic reaction may include: wheezing or shortness of breath (asthma), skin rash or hives, swelling of the face or tongue, runny nose;
If you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy;
If you are under 14 years.
Do not use Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier, if any of these apply to you.

Warnings and Precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier.
Do not use Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier on skin conditions such as cuts or open sores, rashes or eczema. Discontinue treatment if you develop pustular rash after applying Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier;
Avoid use on large areas of skin for a prolonged period of time, except in the case of the physician;
Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier is for external use only. Do not use Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier in the mouth and do not swallow. Wash hands after use. Watch Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier not get in your eyes. If this happens, rinse your eyes with clean water. Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you continue to feel discomfort;
To apply it in elastic bandages or dressings that are commonly used in trauma such as sprains or dislocations, but do not use under breath air plastic bandages. If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier.
Children and adolescents under 14 years
There are insufficient data on the efficacy and safety of Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier, used in children and adolescents under 14 years (see details in section 2 of this leaflet).
In adolescents 14 years and if necessary use of Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier to relieve pain more than 7 days or if symptoms worsen, patients or their parents should seek medical attention.

Other medicines and Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines.

Pregnancy and lactation
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or planning to become pregnant, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier should not be used during last 3 months of pregnancy because it may harm your unborn baby or cause birth complications. Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier should be used only after medical advice during the first 6 months of pregnancy, the dose can be as low and duration of treatment as short as possible.
Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier should be used only after medical advice during lactation as diclofenac passes into breast milk in small amounts.
Due to this circumstance Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier must not be applied on the breasts of lactating mothers, or elsewhere on the large areas of the skin for an extended period of time.
For more information consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Driving and using machines
Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier applied to the skin, does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.

3. How to use Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as you told your doctor or pharmacist. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

How Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier to use
Adults and adolescents over 14 years:
Apply emulsifier Voltaren Gel 1.16% 3-4 times a day into the skin on the painful area.

How to use Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier
1. Aluminium laminated tube
During the first unscrew and remove the cap. Remove the tube by placing the opposite side of the cap and turn.

2. Pressurized aluminum container 75 ml
Can be used in an inverted position. Press the button on the pump to release the amount of gel, described below. Squeeze a small amount of gel from the tube and slowly rub the skin over the painful or swollen area. The required amount varies depending on the size of the affected painful or swollen portion. Usually an amount ranging in size from a cherry nut sufficiently. You may experience slight cooling effect, while rub the gel.
Wash your hands after the application of the emulsifier Voltaren Gel 1.16%, except in cases where they are treated area.

How long to use Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier
Do not use Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier more than:
Adults and adolescents over 14 years:
2 weeks - in muscle and joint injuries (sprains, dislocations, strains, bruises) and inflammation of the tendons.

adults:
3 weeks - in arthritic pain.
A longer period of treatment may be recommended by a doctor.
If within 7 days the pain and swelling does not decrease or your condition worsens, tell your doctor.

If you use more than the amount of emulsifier Voltaren Gel 1.16%
If you or a child accidentally ingested Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier or you use more than the recommended dose, tell your doctor immediately.

If you forget to use Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier
If you forget to use Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier, apply it as soon as you remember and carry on as usual.
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you have any questions about using this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Some rare and very rare side effects can be serious.
If you notice any of these signs of allergy, stop using Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier and tell your doctor or pharmacist:
Skin rash with blistering of the skin; hives. (These may affect between 1 and 10 in every 10,000 people.);
Wheezing, shortness of breath or tightness in the chest (asthma). (These can affect less than 1 in every 10,000 people.);
Swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat. (These can affect less than 1 in every 10,000 people.)
Other side effects that may occur are usually mild, fleeting and harmless (if you are affected, tell your doctor or pharmacist).

Common side effects (These may affect between 1 to 10 in every 100 people):
Skin rash, itching, redness or stinging of the skin.
Very rare side effects (These can affect less than 1 in 10,000 people):
The skin may be more sensitive when exposed to sunlight. Possible signs are sunburn with itching, swelling and blisters.
If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

5. How to store Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Do not use Voltaren Gel emulsifier 1.6% after the expiry date stated on the packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not store above 30 ° C. The sealed container should be protected from direct sunlight and should not be punctured or burnt, even when empty.
Do not dispose of medications in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

6. Contents of the pack and other information
What Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier
The active substance is diclofenac diethylamine. Each gram of gel contains 11.6 mg diclofenac diethylamine.
The other ingredients (excipients) are: carbomer, macrogol tsitostearileter, kokoilkaprilokaprat, diethylamine, isopropyl alcohol, propylene glycol, purified water, liquid paraffin, perfume composition 45.

How does Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier and contents of the pack
Voltaren Gel 1.16% emulsifier is practically white, cooling, non-greasy, leaving no stains, creamy gel.
Laminated aluminum tube of 20 g, 50 g, 100 g, 150 g.
The sealed aluminum containers of 75 ml.
Not all pack sizes are marketed.

The formulation of the emulsifier 1.16% Voltaren Gel is specifically designed to allow the active substance to pass through the skin.
