UROGRAFIN 10 ampoules
All injectable radiopaque materials, including Urografin contain iodine. X-rays can not pass the contrast medium, since it is absorbed by the iodine. The areas of the human body, where it is distributed Urografin after its injection into the circulation or into body cavities were visualized by X-ray.
Why use Urografin? (Statement)
Urografin provides visualization of the veins and arteries, detecting abnormalities in the urinary tract, kidneys, heart and body cavities.
When not to apply Urografin? (Contra)
You should not apply Urografin if you have heart failure or overactive thyroid gland are not adequately treated.
X-ray of the uterus and fallopian tubes are not performed during pregnancy or acute inflammation of internal genitals.
X-ray examination of the pancreas and bile ducts must be performed in an acute inflammation of the pancreas.
Urografin should not be applied in the space around the spinal cord, as are the possible severe side effects.
What must be borne in mind before taking Urografin?
Tell your doctor if:
• are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
• breast-feeding or planning to breast feed. You should discuss with your doctor when to pause and when to resume breastfeeding.
• you suffer from allergy (eg. To seafood, hay fever, hives) or asthma
• are allergic to iodine-containing contrast medium salts amido (dia-) trizoic acid or any of the other ingredients
• have severe liver or kidney function
• have heart disease or circulation
• have diabetes
• taking biguanides - a type of medicine used to treat diabetes
• suffering from brain disease seizure
• disorders of the cerebral circulation, for example. data for stroke
• have latent overactive thyroid gland
• it has swelling caused by enlargement of the thyroid gland (nodular goiter)
• have blood cancer (multiple myeloma), overproduction of special proteins (paraproteimemiya) allergy to parts of your body condition in which muscle strength diminishes and fatigue occurs rapidly (myasthenia gravis)
• have a special type of high blood pressure caused by a rare tumor of the adrenal gland (pheochromocytoma)
• daily taking special drugs or drink alcohol regularly
If you suffer from any of these conditions, your doctor will decide whether it is possible to conduct the study.
Before the study should not eat, but you may drink fluids as usual. Further instructions will be given by the doctor.
What precautions should be taken? (Pedpazni measures and precautions for use)
Allergic-like reactions have been observed after administration of radiopaque material as Urografin (see "Undesirable effects")
In the presence of the inflammatory process has a higher risk of reaction of the bile ducts.
May occur delayed reactions (see "Side Effects"). In these cases it is necessary to avoid driving because Urografin can reduce your ability to drive and use machines. You will not be able to respond quickly and timely. Do not drive a car or other vehicle.
What to do if you are taking other medicine? (Interactions).
Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicine
Some medicines can affect the way you act Urografin in your body. These include:
• Beta-blockers, drugs for the treatment of high blood pressure or other cardiac diseases
Your doctor will posavetkva how to take these drugs before the study.
How to apply Urografin? (Dosage and Administration)
Urografin is injected by a doctor via a small needle into the vessels. It can also be used in body cavities. The application is carried out immediately before the X-ray.
Right dose for you will be determined by the physician and will depend on your general health, age, weight and type of study. The speed with which Urografin injected and the duration of the X-radiation will also depend on the type of study. In most cases a single dose Urografin.
If given more than the prescribed dose? (Overdose)
Overdose is impossible. If this happens, the doctor will treat any subsequent symptoms.
Urografin cause an adverse reaction?
Adverse reactions Urografin depend on the route of administration. For each method of administration of frequency is as follows:
The following definitions appearing in the text of "often", "not often" and "seldom" apply when giving estimates of activity:
- 1%, and often more
- Not often 0.1% or more but less than 1%
- Seldom less than 0.1%
• When injected in the vessels
Adverse reactions Associated with the use of radiopaque material are usually mild to moderate and transient in nature. However, it has been reported and severe, life-threatening reactions and fatalities. The frequency of observed adverse reactions in patients is 12% due to ionic contrast media, compared with 3% in non-ionic.
The most commonly reported side effects are nausea, vomiting, erythema, feeling of pain and a general feeling of warmth.
Mild swelling of the tongue, lips, tongue or throat, conjunctivitis, coughing, itching, runny nose, sneezing and hives have been reported frequently. These reactions can occur irrespective of the amount applied and manner of application may be the first signs of severe initial reaction.
Severe reactions requiring emergency treatment can occur in the form of circulatory underwent accompanied by low blood pressure, palpitations, shortness of breath, agitation, confusion and bruising of the lips, leading to unconsciousness. Low blood pressure, difficulty breathing and swelling of the throat occur infrequently. Delayed reactions are rare.
Body as a whole
Complaints of headaches and a feeling of warmth were frequently reported.
Malaise, numbness or sweating, dizziness and weakness are not uncommon.
Rarely observed changes in body temperature and swelling of salivary glands.
Transient impairment of breathing, shortness of breath and cough are common. Respiratory arrest and fluid retention in the lungs are rare reactions.
Satse and circulation
Pehodni violations of the heart rate, blood pressure, abnormal heart function and cardiac arrest are not uncommon.
Severe reactions requiring emergency treatment can occur in the form of a circulatory reaction accompanied by low blood pressure, fast mad activity, difficulty breathing, anxiety, confusion and bruising of the lips, possibly leading to unconsciousness.
Nausea and vomiting are common reactions. Abdominal pain was reported as being common.
Transient neurological complications such as weakness, dizziness, headache, anxiety or confusion, memory loss, speech disorders, visual and hearing disorders, convulsions, tremor, paresthesia / paralysis, irritation of light, temporary blindness, coma and somnolence are uncommon .
Damage to part of the brain caused by poor circulation it has been reported rarely.
In rare cases reported renal disorders.
Mild swelling of the face, lips, tongue, mouth and throat, redness, hives, itching and redness of the skin are often observed.
Toxic skin diseases (pain, redness, large blisters, peeling skin) may develop in rare cases.
Local irritation (application site)
Local pain often occurs principally in the study of blood vessels, when the contrast is not injected into the blood vessels. Swelling of the tissues is also possible.
These symptoms usually go away without consequence. However, pain with redness and local temperature and even tissue destruction observed in extremely rare cases. Swelling and redness along the veins and blood clots are not uncommon.
• When injected into body cavities
Reactions after the administration into body cavities are rare. Most of them are pryavyavat few hours after application due to slow absorption from the area of application and distribution throughout the body.
After examination of the bile ducts and the pancreas are described in rare cases of severe inflammation of the pancreas.
In connection with the study of the internal female reproductive organs have been observed not frequent dizziness and fainting.
Systemic allergic-like reactions are rare, mostly mild to moderate, occurring in the form of skin reactions. However, the possibility of severe allergic-like reactions can not be totally excluded. Please read the information concerning allergic-like reactions in the above section "When injected in the vessels."
If you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, or if you are unsure about the effect of this product, please contact your doctor.
