WHAT IT IS USED TRAVATAN
TRAVATAN is indicated for the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure. This pressure can lead to a disease called glaucoma.
High pressure in the eye: Your eye contains a clear, watery fluid that nourishes the eye. This liquid is discharged out of the eye, while being produced. If the eye fills up faster than it empties, the pressure inside the eye increases. If it gets too high, it can lead to blindness.
TRAVATAN is a group of drugs for the treatment of glaucoma called prostaglandin analogues. TRAVATAN works by increasing the outflow of fluid, which in turn lowers the pressure inside the eye.
It can be used alone or in combination with other eye drops, eg. beta-blockers, which also reduce pressure.
TRAVATAN is a clear, colorless solution and is supplied in packs containing one plastic vials of 2.5 ml (screw cap). Each bottle is placed in a separate bag, not all pack sizes to market

Do not use TRAVATAN ...
if you are allergic to prostaglandins (travoprost) or to any of the excipients.
if you are pregnant or likely to become pregnant.

Take more care with TRAVATAN ...
If you wear soft contact lenses. Do not use the drops while your lenses are put in her eyes. Wait 15 minutes before inserting contact lenses after use TRAVATAN.
A preservative in TRAVATAN (benzalkonium chloride) that can damage your contact lenses.
If you are breastfeeding, then you should know that it is possible TRAVATAN be excreted in milk. Ask your doctor.
TRAVATAN should not be used in patients under 18 years of age!
TRAVATAN may increase the length, thickness, color and / or number of lashes, and can cause abnormal hair growth on the eyelids.
TRAVATAN may change the color of the iris (the colored part of your eye). This change is permanent.
Very rarely, TRAVATAN can cause shortness of breath and wheezing and increased asthma symptoms. If you notice any changes in your breathing, the use of TRAVATAN, consult your doctor as soon as possible.
Use when driving or operating machinery
It is just after you TRAVATAN appear blurred vision. You should wait until your vision is clear and only then to drive or operate machinery.

HOW TO USE TRAVATAN
Adults: 1 drop in the affected eye / eyes once a day - in the evening.
Use TRAVATAN in both eyes at the express instruction of your doctor! The duration of treatment is also at the discretion of your doctor.

HOW TO USE TRAVATAN
Open the bag just before the first time you use the product. Tear off and remove the bottle, write the date of opening of the space on the label.
Take TRAVATAN bottle and a mirror.
Wash your hands.
Unscrew the cap.
Hold the bottle, pointing down between the thumb and fingers.
Tilt the head back. Pull down your eyelid with a clean finger, until there is a 'pocket' between the eyelid and your eye. The drop should go in this place.
Bring the dropper tip of the bottle close to the eye. Use the mirror if it helps.
Do not touch your eye or eyelid, surrounding areas or other surfaces with the dropper. There is a danger of pollution.
Gently squeeze the bottle to release one drop of TRAVATAN.
Once the droplet, close lid and press a finger to the eye - in the corner of the nose. This is necessary to prevent TRAVATAN to move to other parts of the body.
If you need to drops in the other eye - repeat the steps.
Close the bottle immediately after use!
Use the same bottle. Do not open the pouch until you need to use a bottle.
If a drop misses your eye - try again.
If in your eyes bigger, rinse with warm water. More drops until the next regular dose.
If you miss a dose, put it as soon as possible. If the time has come for the next dose, then skip the missed one and resume your normal routine. Do not take a double dose to catch up.
If you are using other eye drops, wait at least 5 minutes between putting in TRAVATAN and the other drops.
Some patients using TRAVATAN may experience side effects. They can be unpleasant, but most of them disappear quickly.
In most cases - unless the effects are serious, you can continue using the product. If you're worried, then ask your doctor or pharmacist. Do not stop taking TRAVATAN, more than one dose without you consult with your doctor.
Common side effects
The following may affect one out of every two patients.
Change in color, length, thickness and number of lashes, eye redness.
One or more of the following events may affect up to 5 of every 100 patients
Ocular side effects: burning or stinging at the application, eye pruritus, discoloration of the iris (may become permanent), dry eye, foreign body sensation, inflammation of the eye or eyelid, eye pain, blurred vision , decreased visual acuity, sensitivity to light, tearing, eye fatigue, abnormal hair growth on the eyelids, mucus formation / crusting and sealing the lids.
Other parts of the body: headache, slow heart beat, low blood pressure, discoloration around the eyelids, asthma and increased asthma symptoms.

Packaging should be discarded four weeks after first opening to prevent infections and to begin a new bottle.
Write the date of opening on each package of it in the space on the label and carton (indicated by OPEN).
Ingredients (per ml):
TRAVATAN contains as active ingredient travoprost (travoprost) - 40 micrograms. Other ingredients: benzalkonium chloride (as a preservative), polyoxyl 40 castor oil (HCO-40), trometamol, disodium salt of ethylenediaminetetra-acetic acid (Na-EDTA), boric acid (E 284), mannitol (E 421) and purified water.
Sometimes it is possible to add very small amounts of hydrochloric acid and / or sodium hydroxide to achieve the required pH (suitable for eye).
