What is the active ingredient in teveten?

The active ingredient of eprosartan mesylate Teveten is equivalent to 600 mg eprosartan in one tablet.

Lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, crospovidone, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, hypromellose, macrogol 400.
What used Teveten?
 
Teveten is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure).
 

What is Teveten and how it works?

 
Teveten belongs to the group of medicines known as angiotensin II antagonists (blockers).
Angiotensin II is a substance that causes constriction of blood vessels, causing high blood pressure. Teveten blocking the action of angiotensin II and thus lowers high blood pressure.
Teveten administered once daily achieved blood pressure control in hypertensive patients. Control of blood pressure is maintained at constant levels throughout the day. Teveten lowers blood pressure without causing a change in heart rate.
 

When you should not use Teveten?

 
Teveten should not use in the following cases:
  in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients;
 during pregnancy and lactation;
  in severe hepatic impairment.

Teveten not recommended for pregnant and nursing mothers!

What side effects can cause Teveten?

 
Adverse reactions during treatment with Teveten are usually mild and transient.

Special warnings!

 
During treatment with Teveten be sure to tell your doctor about all of your medical history. Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, or if you have coronary artery disease, increased adrenal hormone, narrowing of the mitral or aortic valve, increased heart muscle, rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. What other drugs affect the effect of Teveten?
 
Concomitant use of potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium supplements, salt substitutes containing potassium, or other drugs that may increase serum potassium levels can lead to increased serum potassium.
The antihypertensive effect may be enhanced by other antihypertensives.
Were reported toxicity and reversible increases in serum lithium concentrations during concomitant therapy with lithium and ACE inhibitors. Since no data on the use of eprosartan, can not be excluded a similar effect and therefore careful monitoring of serum lithium during concomitant use.
 

Combination of NSAID medicine

 
When ACE II antagonists are administered with NSAIDs (eg, COX-2 inhibitors, acetylsalicylic acid (> 3 g / day) and non-selective NSAIDs) may be observed attenuation of the antihypertensive effect.
