RISPOLEPT be used in the treatment of a group of psychiatric disorders known as psychoses. These are disorders in the brain that affect thinking, feelings and / or actions, such as confusion, hallucinations, disturbances in perception (hearing the voice of someone who is absent at the moment), excessive suspiciousness, social alienation and conditions of excessive introspection, excitability and tension.
RISPOLEPT can be applied in both acute and chronic. In addition, once symptoms improve, RISPOLEPT is used to keep the disease under control and prevent exacerbations.
Another condition which can be taken RISPOLEPT is mania, which is characterized by symptoms such as elevated, expansive mood and irritability, increased self-esteem, decreased need for sleep, tense speech, racing thoughts, kidnapped or scarce estimates destructive or aggressive behavior. RISPOLEPT may be used alone or together with another type of medicine, referring to the group of mood stabilizers.
You should not take RISPOLEPT if you know that you are hypersensitive to it. Hypersensitivity can be recognized by skin rash, itching, shortness of breath and sweating in the face. If you get any of these symptoms, contact your doctor promptly.
Studies in elderly patients with dementia have shown that taking RISPOLEPT, alone or with furosemide observed a higher incidence of mortality. Tell your doctor if you are taking furosemide. Furosemide is a drug that is sometimes used for the treatment of high blood pressure, for the treatment of edema of various parts of the body resulting from the collection of too much fluid.

What precautions should I take?
Weight gain
Eat moderate as RISPOLEPT may cause weight gain.
Cardiovascular diseases, renal and liver function, Parkinson's disease, Lewy-Body dementia or epilepsy

The effect of RISPOLEPT could change and karbamazep applicable mainly for epilepsy and neuralgia of the trigeminal nerve (acute pain in the face). Therefore, you should tell your doctor if the start or stop treatment with carbamazepine.
Fluoxetine and paroxetine - drugs that are primarily used for the treatment of depression - may lead to increased levels of RISPOLEPT in your blood. Therefore, tell your doctor if you start and / or stop taking fluoxetine or paroxetine.
Cimetidine and ranitidine - two drugs that are used to reduce stomach acid - may slightly increase the level of RISPOLEPT in your blood, but they usually do not change the effect of RISPOLEPT.
Erythromycin, an antibiotic, has no effect on the level of blood RISPOLEPT.
Topiramate, a drug used to treat epilepsy and migraine, no significant effect on the level of RISPOLEPT in your blood.
Galantamine and donepezil - medicines used for the treatment of dementia - no effect on RISPOLEPT.
RISPOLEPT showed no effect on lithium or valproate - two drugs used to treat mania; no effect on digoxin - a heart medicine.
Co-administration of RISPOLEPT furosemide - a drug which is used for conditions such as heart failure and high blood pressure - may be associated with adverse effects. Tell your doctor if you are taking furosemide (see "Warning").
RISPOLEPT is available in tablets and solution for oral administration.
You can take RISPOLEPT as during meals and between meals. Tablets may be made with a certain amount of liquid. The solution can be mixed with the soft drink, except tea.
It is very important to take the exact dose RISPOLEPT, but it is different for different people. For this reason, your doctor will adjust the dosage until the desired effect is obtained. What should you do if you forget to take RISPOLEPT?
During the initial treatment period:

The designation "Exp." on the packaging means that the drug can be stored only for a limited period of time. There are four types of tablets, which differ in the concentration of risperidone in them:

In the tablet formulation also includes lactose, corn starch, cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, sodium lauryl sulfate and propylene glycol.
2 mg tablets also contain titanium dioxide, talc and yellow orange S.
The tablets of 3 mg comprise talc, quinolone yellow and titanium dioxide.
The tablets of 4 mg also contain talc, quinolone yellow, titanium dioxides indigotine.
Drinking solution
Drinking solution of 30 ml with a pipette. A full pipette accompanying vial of 30 ml
