RABEZOL WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED
Rabezol belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors , which work by reducing acid production in the stomach. This creates conditions for healing of ulcers and thereby reducing pain. Rabezol tablets are used :
For treatment of ulcers , duodenal or benign gastric ulcers ( peptic ulcers) ;
For the treatment of gastro - esophageal reflux disease (GERD ) , is usually explained as inflammation of the esophagus and connected to the pain , discomfort and heartburn caused by returning the stomach acid into the esophagus , including moderate to severe forms of the disease ;
For long-term treatment of GERD in order to prevent recurrence of the disease symptoms have disappeared ( maintenance treatment of GERD) ;
In patients whose stomach contains many high acid condition called Syndrome Zollinger-Ellison;
In combination with the appropriate antibiotics to eliminate infection caused by the bacteria Helicobacter pylori ( H. pylori) in patients with peptic ulcer .
2 . BEFORE YOU TAKE RABEZOL
Do not take Rabezol
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to rabeprazole or to any other ingredients of Rabezol ;
if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Take special care with Rabezol
If you are allergic to other proton pump inhibitors belonging to the group of benzimidazole ( eg omeprazole or pantoprazole ) , you may be allergic to rabeprazole ;
Consult your doctor if you have liver disease : he / she may decide that it is necessary to prescribe a different dose;
Rabezol not recommended for use in children ;
Treatment with rabeprazole sodium is not recommended to be conducted with atazanavir (used for HIV / AIDS) ( see " Taking other medicines" below) ;
Received messages for patients that have been observed at lower levels of platelets or white blood cells during the treatment with rabeprazole sodium, which is generally returned to normal after the end of treatment . If you notice unexplained bruising during treatment with rabeprazole sodium, you should consult your doctor.
Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines , including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Rabezol may influence the effect of certain medications , such as :
Atazanavir , which is used to treat HIV / AIDS . Rabezol not recommended for use at the same time with atazanavir , as it may reduce the efficacy of atazanavir ;
Ketoconazole or itraconazole , medicines used to treat fungal infesktsii : Your doctor may monitor you more closely and adjust the dose of ketoconazole or itraconazole, if necessary.
Pregnancy and lactation
Rabezol not use if you are pregnant , think you are pregnant or breast-feeding ( see " Do not take Rabezol " ) .
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine .
Driving and using machines
Very unlikely Rabezol impair your ability to drive or operate machinery. If you feel tired , you should avoid driving or operating machinery.
Important information about some of the ingredients of Rabezol
This medicinal product contains lactose. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars , consult your doctor before taking this medicine .
3 . HOW TO TAKE RABEZOL
Always take Rabezol exactly as your doctor tells you . If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
You should take Rabezol once a day , preferably before breakfast.
The usual dosage is 1 yellow (20 mg) or pink 1 ( 10 mg), gastro- resistant tablet daily.
For the treatment of duodenal ulcer and benign gastric ulcer , the doctor will prescribe one yellow (20 mg) tablet daily ;
Gastro -oesophageal reflux disease (GERD ), physicians will prescribe one yellow (20 mg) tablet daily ;
For maintenance treatment of GERD , the doctor will prescribe one pink (10 mg) or 1 yellow (20 mg) tablet daily , depending on individual needs ;
For the symptomatic treatment of moderate to very severe GERD , your doctor will prescribe one pink (10 mg) tablet a ;
To treat the syndrome of Zollinger-Ellison, the doctor will begin treatment with prescription yellow H (20 mg) tablets daily in one dose. Depending on how you respond to this dose , your doctor may increase it to 3 yellow (20 mg) tablets twice daily, if necessary ;
To remove the infection caused by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori is recommended following treatment for 7 days: 1 yellow (20 mg) tablet a Rabezol twice daily + clarithromycin 500 mg twice daily + amoxicillin 1 g twice daily.
Method of administration
Tablets should be swallowed whole with sufficient liquid , preferably before breakfast. The tablet should not be chewed or crushed .
Duration of treatment
If you have a duodenal ulcer : usually 4 weeks, but then your doctor may decide to continue treatment for 4 weeks ;
If you have stomach ulcers : usually six weeks , but then your doctor may decide to continue treatment for another six weeks ;
If you have pain or discomfort, which are due to the return of stomach acid into the esophagus (GERD ): 4-8 weeks
For maintenance treatment of GERD , your doctor will determine the duration of treatment ;
If you receive symptomatic treatment of moderate to very severe gastro-oesophageal reflux disease : usually four weeks ;
To remove the infection caused by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, usually the period of treatment is 7 days .
If you take more dose Rabezol
If you take more dose Rabezol , please call your doctor.
If you forget to take Rabezol
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember and continue treatment as usual. If it is almost time for your next dose , you should not take the missed tablet. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you stop taking Rabezol
Typically, the relief of the symptoms was obtained prior to the stomach ulcer was completely healed .
Therefore, it is important not to stop taking the gastro-resistant tablets before you said that your doctor.

4 . POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Rabezol can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them .
In the event of any of the following symptoms , you should stop treatment Rabezol and call your doctor:
Hypersensitivity reactions , which may occur as a skin rash , skin redness , itching and in rare cases blistering of the skin, liver problems and acute generalized reactions such as facial swelling, low blood pressure, shortness of breath , all of which should disappear after cessation of treatment. This is a rare side effects (affects 1 to 10 users in 100) ;
Unexplained bruising or fever and serious deterioration of your general condition , or acts of local infection such as prolonged sore throat , mouth ulcers , or urinary problems that may indicate a change in the number of white blood cells ( see " Take special attention to Rabezol "above ) . This is a rare side effects (affects 1 to 10 users in 100) ;
Hepatitis (inflammation of the liver that can cause you to feel sick with yellow eyes or skin , dark urine ) , jaundice (yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes) . These are rare side effects ( affects 1 to 10 users 100 ) , which can sometimes lead to brain damage ;
Severe skin reactions with irregular red rash , blisters and / or prolapse of the skin. These are very rare side effects ( affects less than 1 user in 10,000 ) .

Insomnia , headache, dizziness ;
Cough, sore throat , runny nose ;
Diarrhea , nausea or vomiting , abdominal pain, constipation, dizziness ;
Pain , including back pain;
Fatigue, flu-like illness .
Uncommon side effects ( affects 1 to 10 users in 1000 ):
Bronchitis , sinusitis ;
Indigestion, dry mouth , belching ;
Rash , redness of the skin;
Muscle pain, leg cramps , joint pain ;
Urinary tract infection ;
Chest pain , chills , fever ;
Altered liver function tests .
Rare side effects (affects 1 to 10 users in 10,000 ):
Visual disturbances ;
Inflammation of the stomach or mouth , taste perversion ;
Kidney disease ;
Itching , swelling , blistering ;
Loss of appetite ;
Weight gain ;
Other side effects not known
Low sodium levels in the blood ;
Swelling of the extremities ;
Tightness in the chest.

5 . HOW TO STORE RABEZOL
Keep out of reach of children. Store below 25 ° C.
Store in the original package to protect from moisture.
Rabezol not use after the expiry date stated on the carton . The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste.
Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required . These measures will help to protect the environment.

What does RABEZOL
The active ingredient is rabeprazole sodium.
Each gastro -resistant tablet Rabezol 10 mg contains 10 mg of rabeprazole sodium.
Each gastro -resistant tablet Rabezol 20 mg contains 20 mg of rabeprazole sodium.
Other ingredients are:
Core: mannitol, low-substituted hydroxypropylcellulose , magnesium oxide , heavy, hydroxypropyl cellulose , magnesium stearate.
Film coat - a tablet of 10 mg: (E464 ) , microcrystalline cellulose , stearic acid , titanium dioxide ( E171 ), hypromellose phthalate , triethyl citrate, lactose monohydrate , macrogol 4000 , red iron oxide ( E 172 ) , yellow iron oxide ( E172 ) .
Film coat - a tablet of 20 mg: (E464 ) , microcrystalline cellulose , stearic acid , titanium dioxide ( E171 ), hypromellose phthalate , triethyl citrate, lactose monohydrate , macrogol 4000 , red iron oxide ( E 172 ) , yellow iron oxide ( E172 ) , black iron oxide ( E172) .
Ink : shellac , black iron oxide ( E172) , ammonium hydroxide, propylene glycol.
RABEZOL looks like and contents of pack
Rabezol 10 mg gastro-resistant tablets are pink , round, labeled in black ink on one side "N" and "10 ."
Rabezol 20 mg gastro-resistant tablets are yellow , round, labeled in black ink on one side "93" and "64" on the other.
Rabezol gastro-resistant tablets are in packages of 1, 7, 14, 15, 20 , 25, 28, 30 , 50, 56, 57 , 60, 75 , 98, 100 and 120 gastro-resistant tablets . Hospital packs of 50 and 98 gastro-resistant tablets.
