Papaverine Actavis WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED
 
Papaverine Actavis has a direct relaxant effect on smooth muscle.
Papaverine Actavis is used in the symptomatic treatment of spasms of smooth muscle (gastro-intestinal, biliary, renal and ureteral colic).
 
 
2. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE treatment with papaverine Actavis
Papaverine Actavis does not apply to:
• Hypersensitivity to the active vmeshtestvo or any of the excipients;
• Cardiovascular diseases such as AV-block, cardiac conduction disorders, paroxysmal tachycardia and premature, ectopic ritymni disorders, myocardial infarction;
• Increased intracranial pressure, a condition soon after stroke (due to risk of steal effect);
• glaucoma (increased pressure);
 
Not recommended for children.
 
In this medicinal product, please note the following:
The product is applied with caution in liver disease. Therefore, it is advisable to monitor liver function.
Is necessary to control intraocular pressure.
During treatment should avoid smoking.
To avoid extreme physical-loads and sudden changes in body position to avoid orthostatism (drop in blood pressure when standing up).
With use of the elderly can decrease body temperature.

Papaverine Actavis adopted simultaneously with levodopa, can reduce its effect. The product is not administered concurrently with sulfonamides.
As nicotine causes vasoconstriction, smoking can reduce the effect of papaverine Actavis.
 
 
Important information about some of the ingredients of papaverine Actavis
This medicinal product contains lactose as an ingredient, which makes it unsuitable for patients with lactase intolerance.
Due to the composition of wheat starch, this product may be dangerous for people with gluten intolerance (celiac disease).
 
 
3. HOW TO USE papaverine Actavis
Always take papaverine Actavis exactly as your doctor!
Prescription!
The product was administered at 50 mg-150 mg, 3 times daily with the liquid during or after a meal. The maximum daily dose is 200 mg a reception and up to 600 mg daily.
 
If you take a large amount of the drug:
When taking a higher dose than prescribed immediately contact a doctor!
 
Symptoms - nausea, vomiting, weakness, drowsiness, nystagmus, diplopia, diaphoresis, flushing, dizziness, sinus tachycardia. Upon reception of the higher dosages above 15 g, it can be observed with hyperventilation metabolic acidosis, hyperglycemia and hypokalemia.
 
Treatment - Gastric lavage with water and activated charcoal, milk, medication affecting blood pressure, depressed breathing and coma.
Haemodialysis can be beneficial, there is no specific antidote.
 
If you forget to take papaverine Actavis
In this case, a dose soon, but do not double the next one.
 
 
4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like any other medicine, papaverine Actavis may cause side effects.
