Presinex contains as active substance desmopressin (desmopressin), which belongs to a group of medicines called "hormones of the posterior pituitary, vasopressin and analogues." Desmopressin is very similar to the natural hormone in the body, which may reduce the amount of urine that the body produces.

Presinex contains as active substance desmopressin ( desmopressin ), which belongs to a group of medicines called " hormones of the posterior pituitary , vasopressin and analogues ." Desmopressin is very similar to the natural hormone in the body , which may reduce the amount of urine that the body produces .
Presinex is used for the treatment of diabetes insipidus , it is a condition that causes extreme thirst and production of large quantities of dilute urine .
Presinex may also be used to test the function of the kidneys.

Do not take Presinex :
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to desmopressin ;
If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of the product - they are described in section 6. ( Other information ) ;
If you suffer from primary polydipsia (continuous drinking water) or extreme thirst as a result of alcohol abuse ;
If you have or have ever had hyponatremia ( low sodium levels in the blood) ;
If you suffer from heart failure or other condition requiring treatment with diuretics (water ) ;
If you suffer from a condition called " syndrome of inappropriate secretion of diuretic hormone " (your doctor should be told if you suffer from this condition ) ;
If you have polyuria ( production of too much urine ) that has not been diagnosed as diabetes insipidus ;
If you Willebrand disease type IIb ( your doctor should be told if you suffer from this condition ) .

Take special care with Presineks :
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if any of the following apply to you , so that you closely monitor your treatment and condition :
If you have heart disease;
If you have kidney problems ;
If you have cystic fibrosis;
If you are pregnant or attempting to become pregnant ;
If you have swelling or injuries to the lining of the nose.

If you suffer from vomiting and / or diarrhea , stop taking Presineks until you feel better.

Normally your doctor to monitor your body weight and blood pressure during treatment with Presineks .

Taking Presineks with food and drink
Your doctor will advise you to reduce your intake of fluids while being treated with Presineks to avoid the accumulation of fluids in the body . Otherwise, it may lead to headache, nausea , stomach cramps, and in severe cases can lead to seizures.

Taking other medicines
The following medicines may increase the effects of Presineks and lead to adverse effects:
Clofibrate (used to treat high cholesterol ) ;
Chlorpromazine ( schizophrenia ) ;
Carbamazepine ( for epilepsy ) ;
Tricyclic antidepressants ( for treating depression ) ;
Inhibitors of serotonin reuptake inhibitors ( for treating depression ) ;
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents ( for the treatment of pain and inflammatory conditions ) .

The following medicines may reduce Presineks The effects of :
Glibenclamide ( for diabetes ) ;
Lithium ( for treating depression ) .

Desmopressin can enhance the effects of certain drugs for the treatment of low blood pressure .
Desmopressin can reduce the effects of some medicines used to treat high blood pressure.
You should tell Vashnya doctor what drugs you are taking or have recently taken , even those available without a prescription.

Pregnancy and lactation
Tell your doctor or pharmacist :
If you are pregnant or attempting to become pregnant ;
If you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed .
Driving and using machines
No known effects of desmopressin on ability to drive and use machines.

Presineks must only be given by injection into the nose .
Always Presineks exactly as your doctor prescribes . If you are not sure about something, you should consult with your doctor or pharmacist. The usual dose is described below .

Treatment of diabetes insipidus
Adults: 1-2 sprays per day ( the 2 sprays should be applied one in each nostril ) .
Children and adolescents under 18 years of age: 1 spray per day.
Your doctor may increase the dose to 4 sprays daily ( administered as one spray in each nostril in the morning and at bedtime ) .

Test on the function of the kidneys :
The dose depends on your weight and ranged from 1 to 4 puffs .
Before using the spray , you need to empty the bladder. After using the spray will take several urine samples for testing. Fluid intake will also be limited in the first 12 hours after application of the spray.

Instructions for use:
Presinex before using for the first time , you must charge the nozzle ( ie fill it with medicine) . To do this, first remove the protective cap. Hold the bottle upright and press the spray five times into the air until a fine grinding. Now Presineks is ready for use .
1. Blow your nose. Remove the protective cap .
2 . Hold the bottle as shown in Figure 2 .

4 . If prescribed , spray in the other nostril in the same way .
5 . Clean the tip with a clean cloth and put the cap . Keep the bottle upright in the refrigerator.

If the spray is not used within 7 days of previous dose have to do at least one spray into the air before using the product .

Tell your doctor or pharmacist and reduced fluid intake if you take more than you need Presineks . Adopting higher than doses that have a drug may cause headache , nausea , abdominal cramps, and in severe cases, seizures.

If you forget to take Presinex
Do not worry . Just forget about that dose and continue with the next dose as prescribed by your doctor . Never take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you stop taking Presineks symptoms you've had , you can recover .

As with all medications , and Presineks can cause side effects , although not all will test them .
All medicines can cause allergic reactions although serious allergic reactions are rare. Immediately , you should tell your doctor if you get a sudden wheezing , wheezing and difficulty breathing, swelling of eyelids, face or lips, rash or itching (especially the body ) .

Should immediately contact your doctor if you suffer from headaches with nausea and / or vomiting, or have a seizure (convulsions ) .

Described are the following side effects:

Conjunctivitis (red eye caused by infection) , asthenia (weakness) ;

Uncommon side effects ( likely to affect less than 1 in 100 patients):
Nasal congestion , epistaxis (nosebleeds ) , rhinitis (runny nose ), nausea , stomach cramps, vomiting, headache ;

Rare side effects ( likely to affect less than 1 in 1,000 patients):
Brain edema , hyponatremia ( low sodium levels in the blood) ;

Very rare side effects ( likely to affect less than 1 in 10,000 patients):
Emotional disturbances ( in the case of bed wetting ) , allergic pruritus ( itching), exanthema (rash ), fever , bronchospasm ( wheezing or difficulty breathing ) , anaphylaxis (a serious allergic reaction, causing difficulty in breathing or dizziness) .

Due to increased water reabsorption , blood pressure can be increased and , in some patients develop hypertension ( high blood pressure) .
These side effects , with the exception of allergic reactions can be prevented or disappear if the dose of desmopressin is reduced. Immediately tell your doctor if you notice any of these side effects.
If any of these side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet , you should report it to your doctor or pharmacist.

Presinex Keep out of reach and out of sight of children.
Store in the refrigerator between 2 ° C and 8 ° C in its original container.
Keep the bottle upright.

Once opened, store Presineks above 25 ° C.
Dispose Presinex if past 4 weeks of first opening.
Do not use after the expiry date stated on the pack .

What does Presinex :
The active ingredient is desmopressin ( desmopressin acetate as dihydrate) 100 mcg / mL / microgram / ml /;
The other ingredients are chlorobutanol hemihydrate, sodium chloride , hydrochloric acid and purified water.

Presinex looks like :
This drug is a solution of a nasal spray containing 100 micrograms per ml of desmopressin . Each actuation delivers 10 micrograms desmopressin . One bottle contains 60 ml of 6 doses (sprays ) . The spray is in a brown glass bottle fitted with a metering pump .
