Loratadin 10 mg. 10 tablets
Each Loratadine tablet contains 10 mg of active Loratadine. The composition also includes the following excipients: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silicon dioxide, povidone, magnesium stearate.
Loratadine is manufactured in the form of tablets.
PROVISIONS OF THE MEDICINE AND METHOD OF ACTION
Loratadine refers to anti-allergic agents, antagonists of HI histamine receptors in the skin and mucous membranes. It has its effect by blocking the effects of histamine, an endogenous substance that is released in the body by the effects of allergy factors and causes itching, sneezing, eye watery, edema, skin rashes and other allergy symptoms.

WHAT CASES DO NOT USE LORATADIN?
Contraindications are diseases or conditions in which the use of the drug is associated with a high risk of serious adverse reactions or deterioration of the patient's condition. SPECIAL WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
In patients with hepatic or renal impairment / renal clearance
Because of the possibility of obtaining a false negative result, taking loratadine should be discontinued 4 to 7 days before allergy testing.
There is insufficient data on the safety and efficacy of 10 mg of loratadine tablets in children below 6 years of age, therefore it is not recommended to be assigned to them.
MEDICINAL AND OTHER FORMS OF INTERACTION
No special diet is required when taking loratadine. It should be borne in mind that food can accelerate its resorption in individual cases, so it is recommended that the medication is taken before or after a meal with sufficient fluid.
You should always consult your doctor or pharmacist about taking other medicines concurrently with loratadine. This particularly applies to cases where you should treat such antibiotics, such as clarithromycin, erythromycin or antifungal agents - itraconazole, ketoconazole.
PREGNANCY AND BREAST
It is not recommended to use loratadine during pregnancy. Only the treating physician can assess the need for treatment with the preparation in these cases as well as the possible risks. Due to available excretion data in breast milk, it is not recommended to use it during breast-feeding. If breastfeeding women are needed, it is advisable to stop breast-feeding.
HOW LORATADIN MUST BE ACCEPTED?
Medication is taken orally by doctor's prescription.
The dosage and duration of treatment is determined by the attending physician. The loratadine 10 mg tablets are for adults and children over 6 years of age. Adults and children over 12 years - 1 tablet / 10 mg / for 24 hours, divided into 1-2 doses.
Children from 6 to 12 years of age - 5 mg / half tablet / for 24 hours, maximum 10 mg / one tablet /.
Treatment with the preparation may be prolonged - from 2 to 6 months.
UNDESIRABLE MEDICINAL REACTIONS
Like any other medicine, loratadine can rarely cause the following side effects: headache, dizziness, tiredness, dry mouth and nasal mucous membranes may occur in individual patients. In very rare cases, single cases of allergic reactions, visual disturbances, muscle pains and cramps, low or high blood pressure, heart rate, taste changes, decreased libido, nausea, vomiting, changes in liver function, anxiety and decreased ability to concentrate. You need to inform your doctor or pharmacist about any other unexpected symptoms or events you may experience during treatment with the medicine!
When receiving high doses of loratadine (40-180 mg), the following symptoms of overdosage may be observed in adult patients: somnolence, rapid heartbeat (tachycardia), headache. In children, overdosage is most commonly associated with extracopyramidal symptoms (muscle rigidity, tremor) and palpitations.
Treatment of overdosage is done as follows: In cases where consciousness is not disturbed, vomiting is induced. Activated charcoal is given to absorb the remaining amounts of unresorbed drug. In case of inability to cause vomiting, a gastric lavage with normal salt solutions is made.
Osmotic laxatives are also recommended. It should be borne in mind that loratadine can not be eliminated by hemodialysis.
