KSIMEBAK WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?

Tsefpodoksim antibiotic. It belongs to a group of antibiotics called cephalosporins. These antibiotics are similar to penicillin.
Tsefpodoksim destroys bacteria and can be used against various infections.
Like all antibiotics, tsefpodoksim is effective only against certain types of bacteria. It is suitable only for treatment of certain types of infections.
Tsefpodoksim can be used to treat:
 Acute otitis media
 Sinus infections
 Throat infections
 Respiratory infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia, some types
 Uncomplicated bladder infections and kidney
 Infections of the skin and subcutaneous tissue.
 Certain types of gonococcal infections

BEFORE YOU TAKE KSIMEBAK

 
Do not take this medicine if:
 Are allergic to tseflodoksim proksetil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
 You are allergic to any other cephalosporin antibiotic group
 Have ever had a severe allergic reaction to any penicillin antibiotic
 
Not all people who are allergic to penicillins are also allergic to cephalosporins.
 But you should not take this medicine if you have ever had a severe allergic reaction to any penicillin. This is important because you may be allergic to this medicine.
If you are unsure about anything, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Take special care with this medicine if:
 Have ever had an allergic reaction to any antibiotic, tell your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine
 You have ever been told that your kidneys are not working very well. Also, if you have any treatment for kidney failure. In this case, you can take tsefpodoksim but may need a lower dose.
 If you have ever had intestinal inflammation called colitis or any other serious illness that affects your bowels
 This medicine may affect the results of some blood tests. It is important to tell your doctor that you are taking this medicine if you need to do one of these studies
 This drug may also affect the results of urine tests for glucose. If you have diabetes and regularly examine your urine, tell your doctor.

PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING:


 

You are pregnant or think you may be pregnant?
Although there is no evidence to indicate that this drug may harm the unborn child, it will be prescribed to a pregnant woman only if clearly needed.
You breastfeed? This drug should not be prescribed for women who are breastfeeding. This is necessary because little of it penetrates into breast milk.
Important information about some of the ingredients of this medicine:

HOW TO TAKE KSIMEBAK

The recommended doses are presented below. However your doctor may prescribe a different dose of the following, and if so, talk to him if you have not already done so. Prescribed dose depends on the type and severity of infection.
 
The usual dose is:
 
Adults and elderly patients without kidney problems:
Sinus infection: 200 mg twice daily
Throat infections: 100 mg twice daily 
Infections of the bladder or kidneys: 200 mg to 200 mg twice daily 
Infections of skin 
200 mg twice daily 
Gonococcal infections when treatment is carried out before by spreading the infection: 
200 mg as a single dose.
Children: For the treatment of neonates less than two weeks, and children is available Ksimebak powder for oral suspentsiya
Elderly and kidney problems:
 
Depending on the severity of kidney problems, a common type of infection tsefpodoksim dose may need to be applied every two days. Your doctor will decide how much you need to take. If hemodialysis will usually get dose after each dialysis session. Your doctor will tell you how much to take each time.
 

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Severe allergic reactions are:
very rare - Sudden wheezing and tightness in the chest, swelling of eyelids, face or lips, severe skin rash, which may involve bubbles and affect the eyes, mouth and genitals, loss of consciousness
Common - stomach problems, bloating, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea
Eating disorders: anorexia.

Problems with the ears: ringing in ears

Blood problems: anemia, reducing the number of different cells in the blood, increasing the number of certain types of white blood cells, increasing the number of small cells that are necessary for blood clotting.
Very rare: immune system problems: anaphylactic reactions
Kidney problems: changes in renal function
Problems with the liver and bile: liver damage leading to jaundice
infections: When conducting a course of tsefpodoksim may temporarily increase the chance to get an infection that is caused by other microorganisms.
For example, you can develop a yeast infection.

What Ksimebak?
The active substance is tsefpodoksim proksetil equivalent to 40 mg tsefpodoksim / 5 ml
The other ingredients are sucrose, galactomannan gum, aspartame, orange flavor, sodium benzoate, sodium chloride, citric acid anhydrous, citric flavor, sorbitan trioleate, talc, yellow iron oxide, silicon dioxide.
