KSIMEBAK WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?

Tsefpodoksim antibiotic. It belongs to a group of antibiotics called cephalosporins. These antibiotics are similar to penicillin.
Tsefpodoksim destroys bacteria and can be used against various infections.
Like all antibiotics, tsefpodoksim is effective only against certain types of bacteria. It is suitable only for treatment of certain types of infections.
Tsefpodoksim can be used to treat:
Acute otitis media
 Sinus infections
 Throat infections
Respiratory infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia, some types
 Uncomplicated bladder infections and kidney
 Infections of the skin and subcutaneous tissue.

BEFORE YOU TAKE KSIMEBAK

Do not take this medicine if:
 Are allergic to tseflodoksim proksetil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
 You are allergic to any other cephalosporin antibiotic group
 Have ever had a severe allergic reaction to any penicillin antibiotic
Not all people who are allergic to penicillins are also allergic to cephalosporins.
 But you should not take this medicine if you have ever had a severe allergic reaction to any penicillin. This is important because you may be allergic to this medicine.
If you are unsure about anything, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
 
Take special care with this medicine if:
 Have ever had an allergic reaction to any antibiotic, tell your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine
 You have ever been told that your kidneys are not working very well. Also, if you have any treatment for kidney failure. In this case, you can take tsefpodoksim but may need a lower dose.
If you have ever had intestinal inflammation called colitis or any other serious illness that affects your bowels
This medicine may affect the results of some blood tests. It is important to tell your doctor that you are taking this medicine if you need to do one of these studies
 This drug may also affect the results of urine tests for glucose. If you have diabetes and regularly examine your urine, tell your doctor.

PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING:

 
You are pregnant or think you may be pregnant?
Although there is no evidence to indicate that this drug may harm the unborn child, it will be prescribed to a pregnant woman only if clearly needed.
You breastfeed? This drug should not be prescribed for women who are breastfeeding. This is necessary because little of it penetrates into breast milk.
 
Important information about some of the ingredients of this medicine:
Ksimebak powder oral suspension contains zaharoma. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
 Ksimebak contains aspartame. Aspartame contains a source of phenylalanine. This medication may be harmful to people who have a condition called phenylketonuria.

HOW TO TAKE KSIMEBAK

Adults: Teenagers and adults who need treatment usually receive tsefpodoksim tablets. A separate leaflet with information about the user is available for the tablet.
Children older than 15 days:
The daily amount is determined in accordance with the weight of the child
-Usually the total for the day was 8 mg per kg body weight.
 Usually divided into two doses
 Apply each dose every 12 hours with food.

5 kg - 20 mg - 2.5 ml
10 kg - 40 mg - 5 ml

How to measure a dose?

This medicine comes with a 100 ml syringe is graduated in half a milliliter. Comes with an adapter that corresponds to the bottle. To take the medication:
 Shake the bottle
 Insert the adapter into the neck of the bottle
 Place the tip of the syringe into the adapter
 Turn the bottle upside down
Pull the plunger to take an appropriate dose
Children who weigh at least 25 kg can take 12.5 ml of the drug twice daily. Or you may prefer to take tablets of 100 mg twice daily.
Children under the age of 15 days should not take this medicine.

How to prepare this medicine:

To open the bottle of medicine should press down the child-resistant cap and then rotate.
If you need to prepare your own medicine, you can fill the bottle with cold water just below the measuring line marked on the bottle. Shake it well immediately after.
Remember to always shake the bottle before each dose to measure.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Severe allergic reactions are:
very rare - Sudden wheezing and tightness in the chest, swelling of eyelids, face or lips, severe skin rash, which may involve bubbles and affect the eyes, mouth and genitals, loss of consciousness
Common - stomach problems, bloating, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea

Very rare: immune system problems: anaphylactic reactions
Kidney problems: changes in renal function
Problems with the liver and bile: liver damage leading to jaundice
infections: When conducting a course of tsefpodoksim may temporarily increase the chance to get an infection that is caused by other microorganisms.
For example, you can develop a yeast infection.
