WHAT KAPLON COATED TABLETS AND WHAT IT IS USED

Kaplon belongs to the group of macrolide antibiotics and is used to treat:
 Lung infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia
 Throat and Sinus
 Infections of the skin and tissues
 Ifections caused by Helicobacter pylori, leading to duodenal ulcer

 
 BEFORE YOU TAKE KAPLON COATED TABLETS


Tell your doctor if you have a chronic disease, metabolic
infringement if you are hypersensitive (allergic) or if you are taking any other
medicines.
Do not take tablets Kaplon
 If you are allergic to clarithromycin or other macrolide antibiotics such as erythromycin or azithromycin or any of the other ingredients of the tablets Kaplon
 If you have not take ergotamine and dihydroergotamine tablets and should not use ergotamine inhalers,. Please consult your doctor for alternative medicines.
 Do not take terfenadine or astemizole (commonly used for hay fever ilialergii) or cisapride, pimozide or tablets while taking Kaplon as the combination of these drugs can sometimes cause serious heart rhythm abnormalities. Talk to your doctor about the use of alternative medicines.
 If you have liver or kidney problems, tell your doctor before taking Kaplon tablets.
 
Taking other medicines
Please consult your doctor if you are taking any of these medicines
Products:
 Digoxin (a heart medicine), warfarin (blood thinning), ergotamine or dihydroergotamine (for migraine), carbamazepine, or phenytoin (for epilepsy), theophylline (assisted breathing), terfenadine or astemizole (used to treat allergies and hay fever), trazolam or midazolam (sedative), disopyramide (Heart), simvastatin or lovastatin (used to treat high cholesterol), cisapride (for stomach disorders), ciclosporin, pimozide, zidovudine or rifabutin (used to treat some infections) and tacrolimus (for organ transplants).
 Kaplon not interact with oral contraceptives
 
Taking Kaplon with food and drink
You can take Kaplon tablets without regard to food.
 
Pregnancy and lactation
Kaplon not take tablets if you are pregnant or breast-feeding, because there is no
data on safety in pregnancy and lactation.
 
Driving and operating machinery
No data on the impact of the product on the ability to drive and use machines. When driving
or operating machinery it must be borne in mind that dizziness may occur.

 
 HOW TO TAKE KAPLON COATED TABLETS

Always Kaplon tablets exactly as your doctor has told you. You should not change the dose or stop treatment without consulting your doctor.
For the treatment of lung infections, throat infections, sinus infections, skin and soft tissue Kaplon usual dose of tablets for adults and children over 12 years is 250 mg twice daily for 7 days, for example. one tablet in the morning and one at night. In severe infections, your doctor may increase the dose to 500 mg twice daily. The tablets are not suitable for use by children under 12 years. Your doctor will prescribe another more suitable dosage form for your child.
For the treatment of infections caused by Helicobacter pylori, leading to duodenal ulcer
For the treatment of Helicobacter pylori are available a number of effective treatment combinations where Kaplon tablets are taken simultaneously with one or two other drugs. These combinations include:
 Kaplon 500 mg tablets taken twice daily together with amoxicillin 1000 mg twice daily plus lansoprazole 30 mg twice daily for 7-14 days /
 Kaplon 500 mg tablets taken twice daily together with metronidazole 400 mg twice daily plus lansoprazole 30 mg twice daily for 7 days.
 Kaplon 500 mg tablets taken twice daily together with amoxicillin 1000 mg twice daily or metronidazole 400 mg twice daily plus omeprazole 40 mg, once daily for 7 days.
 Kaplon 500 mg tablets taken twice daily together with amoxicillin 1000 mg twice daily plus omeprazole 20 mg once daily for 10 days.
 Kaplon 500 mg tablets taken three times daily together with omeprazole 40 mg once daily for 14 days.
 
Your treatment combination may differ slightly from those described above. Your doctor will decide which treatment combination is best for you. If you're not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
 
If you take a larger dose tablets Kaplon than
If you (or someone else) you accidentally swallowed more tablets than prescribed or child swallows some tablets, seek medical attention immediately. Overdose of Kaplon can cause vomiting and stomach pains.
 
If you forget to take tablets Kaplon
If you forget to take a dose Kaplon tablets, take your next dose as soon as you mentioned. Continue to take the next dose as prescribed by your doctor Do not take two doses to make up the missed dose.
If you stop taking the tablets Kaplon

 POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Like all medicines, clarithromycin can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Side effects include nausea, decreased appetite, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain. You may have feelings of numbness or tingling. If you develop severe or prolonged diarrhea during or after using Kaplon tablets, please consult a doctor immediately. There are also reports of headaches, joint or muscle pain, or loss of muscle tissue.
If during the use of tablets Kaplon you do a blood test, it may show elevated liver enzymes. These values usually return to normal and likely to have any symptoms is small. However, in rare cases Kaplon tablets can cause jaundice and other liver disorders, so if you feel unwell or have yellow skin and / or eyes, pale stools, dark urine, consult your doctor. These effects are transient and disappear quickly. Very rarely, seizures have been reported due to low blood sugar and mood and behavior, which in severe cases may require hospital admission.  Keep out of reach of children
 Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and blister after "EXP". The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
