Jovesto oral solution is an antiallergic drug, which does not cause drowsiness. It helps control your allergic reaction and its symptoms.
Jovesto oral solution relieves symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal passages caused by allergies such as hay fever or allergy to dust mites). These symptoms include sneezing, runny or itchy nose, itchy palate, and itchy, red or watery eyes.
Jovesto oral solution is also used to relieve symptoms of urticaria (a skin condition caused by an allergy). These symptoms include itching and hives.
Relief of these symptoms lasts throughout the day and helps you to resume your normal daily activities and sleep.
Jovesto oral solution is indicated for use in children aged 1 to 11 years, adolescents (12 years of age) and adults, including Elderly.
2. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU TAKE JOVESTO
Do not take Jovesto:
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to desloratadine, loratadine or other ingredients of Jovesto.
Warnings and Precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Jovesto:
if your kidney function is impaired.
If this applies to you, or you are unsure, please consult your doctor before taking Jovesto.
Other medicines and Jovesto
There are no known interactions between Jovesto and other medicines.
Jovesto with food and drink
Jovesto can be taken with or without food.
Pregnancy and lactation
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding is not recommended to take Jovesto oral solution.
Driving and using machines
In children, the recommended dose is not expected to cause Jovesto drowsy or less alert. However, very rarely, some people feel drowsy, which may affect their ability to drive and use machines.
Jovesto oral solution contains sorbitol liquid non-crystallising. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars, you should consult him before taking this medicine.
3. HOW TO TAKE JOVESTO
Always take Jovesto exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist
The usual dose is:
Children between the ages of 1 and 5 years, the dosage is 2,5 ml (half a teaspoon of 5 ml) daily oral solution;
Children aged between 6 and 11 years: the dose is 5 ml (one teaspoon of 5 ml) oral solution daily;
Adults and adolescents (over 12 years): The dose is 10 ml (2 tablespoons of 5 ml) oral solution daily.
If the bottle of oral solution is applied graduated oral syringe, you can also use it for taking appropriate amount of oral solution.
Once swallowed the dose of oral solution, then drink some water. You can take this medicine with or without food.
How to measure the dose
To this medicine is applied spoon marked with doses 2,5 ml and 5 ml or 5 ml syringe with graduations 0,5 ml.
To measure the dose with a syringe:
Remove the bottle cap and keep it in a safe place;
Insert the syringe tip into the solution;
Pull the plunger of the syringe and measure the required dose;
Remove the syringe and place the bottle cap.
If, after withdrawal of the solution notice air bubbles in the syringe, turn the oral syringe in a vertical position with the top up. Thus the air will go to the top of the syringe. Pull back the plunger to himself, then slowly push the syringe to get rid of the bubbles. Even if you are left a few small bubbles are not a problem.
If necessary, consult your doctor or pharmacist how to measure doses of the drug.
Drug administered by syringe:
Make sure that the child is in a stable, upright position;
Gently place the tip of the syringe into the child's mouth. Point it to the inside of one of the cheeks;
Slowly push down the plunger of the syringe. Do not spray quickly. The drug will spread through the child's mouth;
Allow time the child to ingest the drug.
Regarding the duration of treatment, your physician will determine the type of allergic rhinitis you are suffering, and depending on will determine how long you should take Jovesto oral solution.
If you suffer from intermittent allergic rhinitis (presence of symptoms for less than 4 days per week or for less than 4 weeks), your doctor will recommend a regimen consistent with the data on the course of your disease;
If you suffer from persistent allergic rhinitis (presence of symptoms for 4 days or more per week and for more than 4 weeks), your doctor may recommend a longer treatment;
Between patients with urticaria may need different treatment duration and therefore should follow the instructions of your doctor.
If you take more dose Jovesto
Take Jovesto oral solution only as it is prescribed. In case of accidental overdose, do not expect serious problems. However, if you take a higher dose of Jovesto oral solution than you, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
If you forget to take Jovesto
If you forget to take your dose on time, take it as soon as possible, then go back to your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up the missed dose.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
In most children and adults in clinical trials, adverse reactions of Jovesto are almost the same as with a dummy solution or tablet;
However, common side effects reported in more than placebo tablet in children under 2 years are diarrhea, fever and insomnia while in adults they are fatigue, dry mouth and headache.
During the period after receipt of the permit for use of Jovesto following adverse reactions have been reported very rarely (may affect less than 1 in 10,000 people):
Serious allergic reactions (difficulty in breathing, wheezing, itching, hives and swelling). Stop taking the drug and seek medical advice immediately if you experience any of these symptoms;
Palpitations, rapid heartbeat;
Stomach pain, nausea (feeling sick), vomiting, upset stomach, diarrhea;
Dizziness, somnolence, insomnia;
Muscle pain, hallucinations, seizures, restlessness with increased body movement;
Liver inflammation and abnormal liver function tests.
If you get any side effects, tell your doctor or pharmacist. This includes any possible effects not listed in this leaflet.
5. HOW TO STORE JOVESTO
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Jovesto not use after the expiry date stated on the bottle after "EXP". The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Shelf life after first opening: 2 months.
This medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions.

Do not use this medicine if you notice any change in the appearance of the oral solution.
This medicine should be thrown out two months after first opening.
Do not dispose of medications in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
6. CONTENTS OF THE PACKAGE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The active substance is desloratadine.
One milliliter (ml) of oral solution contains 0,5 mg desloratadine.
The other ingredients of the oral solution are sorbitol liquid (non-crystallising) (E0420), propylene glycol, citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, hypromellose 2910, sucrose, disodium edetate, flavor "tutti frutti" purified water.
Jovesto looks like and contents of the pack
Jovesto is a clear, colorless solution without particles, packaged in bottles of brown glass type III, which closed with a polypropylene child resistant screw cap with multilayer polyethylene inner shell.
All packages is attached spoon BE 0373, which marked the doses 2,5 ml and 5 ml, or a graduated oral syringe CE 0373 with a maximum volume of 5 ml, with divisions in 0,5 ml.
