WHAT Imodium instant AND WHAT IT IS USED
Imodium instant is indicated for the symptomatic control of acute and chronic diarrhea.
Imodium instant is part of a group of medicines against diarrhea, anti-inflammatory / intestinal antiseptic antipropulsiv.
In case of diarrhea Imodium instant cures and reduces stool stool.
Also, you could use Imodium instant in case you have diarrhea after surgical removal of part of the intestine.

2. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE YOU TAKE Imodium instant
Imodium instant should not be taken by children under 6 years.

Do not take Imodium instant:
in the presence of blood in the stool or if you have a fever;
if the search has been found in inflammation of the lower abdomen (such as ulcerative colitis or pseudomembranous colitis, resulting from antibiotic therapy);
if your doctor has told you that you have a condition called delayed passage through the gut. Examples of this state have constipation or bloating;
if you know that you are hypersensitive to the drug or to any of the excipients;
in the case of bacterial enterocolitis caused by microorganisms such as Salmonella, Shigella and Campylobacter.
If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

Take special care with Imodium instant
Although Imodium instant diarrhea ceases, the product does not cure the reasons for its occurrence. Where possible, it is also necessary to conduct treatment and causes of diarrhea;
If you have diarrhea, you should know that you lose a significant amount of fluid. Therefore, you should make up for the loss by increased fluid intake. This is particularly important in children. Your pharmacist might offer special powder containing sugar and salts. After adding it to water it will also replace salt losses incurred as a result of diarrhea. In a sudden (acute) attack of diarrhea Imodium instant symptoms usually cease within 48 hours. Otherwise, stop taking the medication and see your doctor;
If you are sick with AIDS and diarrhea are treated with Imodium instant, upon the occurrence of any signs of bloating, stop taking Imodium instant and tell your doctor;
Tell your doctor if you have liver problems, you may need strict medical supervision during treatment with Imodium instant.
Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Tell your doctor if you are taking other medicines that suppress the motility of the stomach and intestines (eg, anticholinergic agents), as these funds could enhance the effect of Imodium instant.

Taking Imodium instant food and drinks
The tablets dissolve and swallow saliva. No additional intake of fluid.

Pregnancy, lactation and fertility
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine.
If you are pregnant or think you are pregnant, you should tell your doctor who will decide whether you can take Imodium instant.
We advise you not to take Imodium instant during lactation because small amounts of it fall into your breast milk.

Driving and using machines
Imodium no effect on driving and operating machinery.
Along with diarrhea may occur fatigue, dizziness or drowsiness. It is therefore advisable to be careful when driving or operating machinery.

Important information about some of the ingredients of instant Imodium
Aspartame (E951) contains a source of phenylalanine. This can be harmful for people with phenylketonuria.

3. HOW TO TAKE Imodium instant
Dose Imodium instant, you need depends on your age and the type of diarrhea.
Imodium instant comes in the form of tablet, orodispersible. Place the tablet on the tongue. You can take Imodium instant at any time of day.

Tablets, orodispersible are fragile and should not be pushed through the blister, because they can be damaged.
To remove the tablet from the blister:
pull the edge of the foil;
Tear film entirely;
tablet press;
take your tablet.
Adults and the elderly:
Acute diarrhea (sudden occurrence of diarrhea) take 2 tablets once orodispersible Imodium instant (4 mg loperamidov hydrochloride), then 1 tablet orodispersible Imodium instant (2 mg loperamidov hydrochloride) after each watery stool. If you have hard or formed stools or after 24 hours if you do not have bowel movements, stop taking the drug.
Chronic diarrhea (diarrhea that lasts a long time), the exact dosage should be determined by your doctor.

Caution: Do not take more than 8 tablets orodispersible Imodium instant (16 mg loperamidov hydrochloride) for 24 hours!

Children over 6 years:
Acute diarrhea (sudden occurrence of diarrhea) take 1 tablet orodispersible Imodium instant (2 mg loperamidov hydrochloride), then 1 tablet orodispersible Imodium instant (2 mg loperamidov hydrochloride) after each watery stool. If your child has a solid or formed stools or after 24 hours if no bowel movements, stop taking the drug.
Chronic diarrhea (diarrhea that lasts a long time), the exact dosage should be determined by your doctor.

Caution: Do not give more than the recommended dose per day per kilogram of your child.

If bowel movements are normal or none in 12 hours, stop giving your child Imodium instant.
The maximum dose for acute and chronic diarrhea is 8 tablets (16 mg) per day for adults; in children the dose should be adjusted for body weight (3 tablets / 20 kg), but must not exceed the dose of 8 tablets per day.
If you are unsure or have questions, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

If you take more dose of Imodium instant
In case you take too much Imodium instant, call a doctor, especially if you have any of the following symptoms:
Dizziness, muscle stiffness, uncoordinated movements, drowsiness, difficulty urinating or weakened breathing.
The reaction of the children to the high doses of Imodium instant is expressed to a greater extent than that of adults. If the child is adopted too much of the drug or exhibits any of the above symptoms, call a doctor.

Information for doctor in case of overdose:
Inject naloxone;
If necessary re-inject naloxone after 1-3 hours;
If necessary, follow the patient for at least the next 48 hours.
If you forget to take Imodium instant
Do not take a double dose to make up Imodium instant orodispersible tablet.

If you stop taking Imodium instant
Premature discontinuation will not affect you, but it may delay the treatment of the condition for which you are taking Imodium instant.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, instant Imodium can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice other effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

5. HOW TO STORE Imodium instant
Do not use Imodium instant after the expiry date stated on the carton.
The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Keep out of reach of children.
Store in the original package in order to protect from moisture.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

What Imodium instant
The active substance is loperamidov hydrochloride.
One capsule contains 2 mg loperamidov hydrochloride.

Other ingredients are:
gelatin;
mannitol;
aspartame;
mint flavor;
sodium hydrogencarbonate.
