1. silver nanoparticles
The unique properties of the silver nanoparticles make it ideal for a variety of technologies, including biomedical materials and antimicrobial uses, and for use in nanotoksikologichni studies. The sizes of the silver nanoparticles in the composition of INFLAMEND are between 10 and 20 nm.
Silver nanoparticles are absorbed completely after oral administration and are evenly distributed in the tissues. In the studies noted the presence of silver ions in all target organs following a single dose of silver nanoparticles. The pharmacokinetic model of distribution is ednokompartimenten and dose-dependent, since there is no hepatic metabolism. It is believed that orally administered amounts of silver nanoparticles fall unchanged in plasma and is apportioned into tissues.
Silver nanoparticles have expressed broad antibacterial properties. Their small size, combined with their ability to be distributed in all tissues, increases the opportunities for use in poorly vascularized target organs such as the prostate gland.

There are known three possible bactericidal mechanism of silver nanoparticles:
(1) Silver nanoparticles have powerful surface electrokinetic (zeta) potential with a positive charge. They are attached to the surface of bacteria, form strong bonds with the electrochemical negatively charged peptidoglycans from the cell membrane of the bacteria. Gradually, the nanoparticles cover the entire surface of the bacteria.
The reaction of the silver nanoparticles to the cell membrane of the pathogen dramatically distorts the permeability and lead to cell death.
The studies carried out to date demonstrate this antibacterial mechanism of silver nanoparticles against both gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, as they all have peptidoglycan in their cell membrane.

(2) The silver nanoparticles penetrate into the bacterial cell, leading to damage to its DNA. The authors suggest that this may be due to the uncharged silver nanoparticles, which pass with easier active transport through the cell membrane than the charged silver ions.

(3) dissolution of the silver nanoparticles leads to the release of silver ions with pronounced antimicrobial properties. 2. The standardized extract of PYGEUM AFRICANUM
Pygeum africanum is an evergreen plant of the family Rosaceae. The active ingredients of the extract of Pygeum include:
Phytosterols (beta-sitosterol), with anti-inflammatory action by inhibiting the production of proinflammatory prostaglandins in the prostate;
Pentacyclic triterpenes (urzolova and oleanolic acid) holding-inflammatory properties in the prostate;
Esters of ferulic acid (n-docosanol and tetracosanoate) that reduce prolactin levels and block the accumulation of cholesterol in the prostate. It is assumed that prolactin increases the absorption of testosterone and cholesterol from the prostate and increases binding sites for dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
Although the exact mechanism of action of Pygeum is still unclear, it is assumed that it is connected to the contractility of the muscles of the prostate and urinary-genital tract. In different clinical studies proved that the extract of Pygeum modulating bladder contractility by reducing the sensitivity to electrical stimulation, phenylephrine, carbachol, and adenosine triphosphate.
Anti-inflammatory effect of the extract of Pygeum clinically manifested by reducing the production of leukotrienes and other 5-lipoxygenase metabolites.
It is also understood that Pygeum inhibit production of fibroblasts increased adrenal androgen secretion, and recovering the secretory activity of the prostate gland and bulbouretralnite.
Fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) plays a role in the development of inflammatory processes in the prostate. Pygeum extract inhibits the effect on cell proliferation induced by bFGF. It was found that in patients with low levels of prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP), an extract of P. africanum restore the levels of acid phosphatase, and the total protein secretion. This effect of the standardized extract of P. africanum is reported in patients without underlying inflammation of the prostate.
Pygeum africanum extract affects hormonal activity by inhibiting enzymes 5α-reductase and aromatase.
Application of P. africanum was studied in open-label study in patients with chronic prostatitis - 17% bacterial and non-bacterial 83%. 89% of patients had complete remission of symptoms after 60 days of application. In another study, extracts of P. africanum be used alone or in combination with antibiotics to treat patients with chronic prostatitis. It found that all tested Pygeum improves symptoms of prostatitis, taking into account the improvement of sexual function.

3. Standardised pollen extract GRAMINEX G63
Pollen is the male gametophyte of flowers. The color pollen extract may be obtained from various sources, but the most well proven and effective therapeutic properties in prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a pollen extract Graminex G63. It contains a standardized extract of pollen of rye (Secale cereale), corn pollen (Zea Mays) and pollen from Timothy (Phleum pretense). The composition of Graminex G63, unlike other pollen extracts include both water soluble and fat-soluble fraction of the pollen pollen in a ratio of 20: 1. 4. LACTOBACILLUS ACIDOPHILUS
