Hedda WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED

Hedda is a medicine for the treatment of migraine. It contains sumatriptan, which belongs to the group of so-called 5HT1A receptor agonists.
 
It is assumed that the symptoms of migraines are caused by temporary dilation of blood vessels in the brain. Sumatriptan exerts its action by narrowing the vessels.

BEFORE YOU USE Hedda

 
Before starting treatment with Hedda, tell your doctor
 If you are allergic to sumatriptan, to any of the excipients or to sulphonamides
  If you suffer from sudden bouts of shortness of breath, pain or tightness in chest
  If any of the following health problems: heart disease, heart failure, angina or heart attack, high blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, epilepsy or brain disease.
  If you are taking other medicines for migraine that contain ergotamine or its derivatives such as ergotamine tartrate and maleate metisergad. If you are taking any medication, stop taking them at least 24 hours before taking Hedda tablets.
  If you are taking medications for depression such as lithium, MAO inhibitors, selective inhibitors of serotonin transport or reverse transport of serotonin and noradrenaline
  Are held drug treatment group MAO inhibitors in the last two weeks.
  Are taking medication for weight loss or to treat epilepsy
  Taking herbal preparations containing St. John's Wort
  If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant.

This medicinal product contains lactose as an excipient, which is why it would be appropriate for you if you have lactose intolerance.

HOW TO TAKE Hedda


 

Hedda usual dose at the onset of the first symptoms of migraine was 50 mg. This dose is effective and applicable to all stages of a migraine attack. If necessary, some patients may be given a dose of 100 mg Always follow your doctor's instructions.
 
If the first dose does not bring you any relief, do not take more tablets for this attack, because it is unlikely that the second dose help. You can take in the next Hedda migraine.
If you feel relief after the first dose but the symptoms recur, you may take a second dose at least 2 hours after you have taken the first.
Do not take more than 300 mg per 24 hours.
It is recommended to swallow the tablets whole with water. Tablets should not be chewed or crushed. Hedda should not be administered to children under 18 years.
 
Once you have started treatment with Hedda
 
If medication does not relieve your condition, you can take the tablets that usually relieve your pain if you are sure they do not contain ergotamine or its derivatives. Wait at least six hours after taking the tablets Hedda before taking medicines containing ergotamine or its derivatives.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Very rare - visual disturbances, low blood pressure, slow or rapid heartbeat, tremors and uncontrollable movements, stiffness of the neck,
 
Tell your doctor immediately if any of the following rare side effects. Stop taking Hedda, unless your doctor advises you to continue treatment.
 
Sudden wheezing, rapid heart beat, feeling of tightness in the chest, swelling of eyelids, face or lips, skin rash, pripatsi, inflammation of the colon that can occur with lower abdominal pain and / or pain fingers, toes, ears, nose or jaw due to cold or stress.
