HIDRASEK WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED

Hidrasek contains an active substance called ratsekadotril. It acts on the intestinal wall and inhibits the increased secretion of fluids and salts caused by inflammation. Ratsekadotril exercise fast antidiarrheal effect without changing the length of the passage through the digestive tract.
It is used as an additional symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhea in infants (over 3 months) and children when oral rehydration and the usual accompanying measures are insufficient to control the clinical situation.
 

 BEFORE YOU TAKE HIDRASEK

 
You should not use this medicine if your child:
 
 it has a known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients;
 if you suffer from fructose intolerance, glucose malabsorption syndrome and
sucrase-isomaltase as granules contain sugar.
If you are not sure if the above things apply to you, ask your doctor!
 
Take special care with Hidrasek
 
The application of the drug does not alter normal mode of recovery of liquids. For children it is important to drink plenty of fluids.
 
Please contact your doctor if:
 
 Your child has a severe and prolonged diarrhea and it is accompanied by vomiting and loss of appetite;
 There is the presence of blood and pus in the stool of your child, which could mean a bacterial infection or other serious illness.
 
 If your child suffers from diabetes, please note that any Hidrasek 10 mg sachet of granules contains 0966 g sucrose per 1 g pellet and each sachet Hidrasek 30 mg pellets - 2,899 g 3 g of sucrose pellets. If the amount of sucrose (source of glucose and fructose) in a daily dose of the drug than 5 grams a day, it should be considered for a daily dose of sugar.
 Do not use the drug in infants under 3 months as there is no clinical trial data in this population.
  Medicines should not be used in children with renal or hepatic impairment, regardless of the degree of seriousness, lack of information about these patient populations.
  The medicinal product should not be administered to patients with prolonged or uncontrolled vomiting.
 
Taking other medicines
 
Tell your doctor if your child is taking any medication! No evidence of interaction with other drugs in humans.
 
Pregnancy and lactation
 
Please tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding or intend to become pregnant!
The drug is intended for infants and children up to age 3.

 HOW TO USE HIDRASEK

 
Always Hidrasek exactly as your doctor tells you. If you are unsure ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Hidrasek was administered orally concomitant fluid administration. The recommended daily dose is determined by weight, based on 1.5 mg / kg per dose given at the beginning and followed by a third, equally distributed over the day. The duration of treatment should not be over 7 days.
 
The granules can be added to food or dissolved in a glass of water or baby bottle until the contents dissolved well to follow immediately swallowed.

Special populations
 
No data for use in infants or children with renal or hepatic insufficiency.
 
If you give more than the required dose Hidrasek
 
If you Hidrasek whether more than it should, contact your doctor or go to a hospital and carry your medicine pack.
 
If you forget to Hidrasek
 
If you forget to give your child a dose, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the January Do not give a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
Apply the medicine for as long as your doctor prescribes. Do not stop taking it just because your child is feeling better.

 POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

 
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
 
The following adverse reactions listed below have occurred more frequently ratsekadotril or have been reported during postmarketing surveillance. Frequencies are categorized based on the following convention: very common (> 1/10), common (21/100 to <1/10), uncommon (> 1/1, 000 to <1/100), rare (> 1/10, 000 to <1/1, 000), very rare (<1/10, 000), not known (can not be estimated based on available data).
 
Infections and infestations:
 
Uncommon - inflammation of the tonsils (tonsillitis).
 
Skin and subcutaneous tissue disorders
 
Uncommon - rash, redness (erythema).
 
Unknown - special kind of redness (erythema multiforme), swelling of the tongue, swelling of face, lips, eyelids, swelling of vascular origin, urticaria, erythema nodosum, rash, itchy skin changes, persistent itching.
 

 HOW TO STORE HIDRASEK

 
No special storage conditions. Shelf life - 2 (two) years. Hidrasek should not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste.
Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
