Fungolon WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?

Fungolon is used to treat:
 
Fungolon treatment can begin before the results of microbiological and other laboratory tests. If it is necessary, after obtaining these results, the treatment may be changed accordingly.
 
Fungolon is used to treat the following conditions:
 
 Genital candidiasis - Acute or recurrent vaginal candidiasis, candida balanitis.
 Mucosal candidiasis - oropharyngeal, esophageal, non-invasive bronchopulmonary infections, candiduria, mucocutaneous and chronic oral atrophic candidiasis.

BEFORE YOU TAKE Fungolon

 
Fungolon not take if:
 
 You have a hypersensitivity to fluconazole or to any of the excipients, or to other azoles
 Are treated with medicinal products that are known to cause changes in the electrocardiogram.

No special requirements
 
 
Pregnancy and lactation
 
Fungolon in standard doses and short-term administration should not be used during pregnancy, except in cases of extreme necessity. Fungolon at high doses and / or long-term should not be used during pregnancy except in cases of severe and potentially life-threatening fungal infections.
Fungolon passes into breast milk, reaching concentrations lower than those in plasma. Breastfeeding may continue after a single standard dose of 200 mg or less. Not recommended for continued breastfeeding after priloenie multiple doses or high doses of the product.
 
Driving and operating machinery
 
Fungolon no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

HOW TO TAKE Fungolon

 
Fungolon taken orally.
The daily dose of the product is determined in the basis of the type and severity of the fungal infection. Most cases of vaginal candidiasis respond to single dose. Treatment of these types of infections requiring multiple dose should be continued until clinical parameters and laboratory tests indicate passage of active fungal infection. Inadequate treatment may lead to recurrence of active infection. Patients with AIDS and cryptococcal meningitis usually require maintenance therapy to prevent relapse.
 

Adults:

 
Candida vaginitis or balanitis - 150 mg orally once
 Mucosal candidiasis
Oropharyngeal candidiasis - 200 mg per day the first day and 100 mg daily coming days. Therapy should not exceed 14 days, except for immunocompromised patients in critical condition.
For atrophic oral candidiasis associated with dentures - usual dose of 50 mg once daily for 14 days, concurrently with the use of topical antiseptics.
In other candidal infections of mucosa except genital candidiasis and esophagitis, non-invasive bronchopulmonary infections, candiduria, mucocutaneous candidiasis, the usual dose is 200 mg on the first day and 100 mg daily coming days.
 
In other candidal infections of mucosa except genital
 For Tine pedis, korporis, kruris, verzikolor and skin candida infections the recommended dose is 50 mg once a day .. Treatment duration is usually 2 to 4 weeks, but Tine pedis may require treatment for up to 6 weeks. The length should not exceed six weeks.

 For cryptococcal meningitis and cryptococcosis infections in other locations the usual dose is 400 mg the first day followed by 200 mg-400 mg once daily. The duration of treatment depends on clinical and mycological response but is usually recommended after 10-12 weeks of treatment clearance of culture of CSF for cryptococcal meningitis.

Elderly
