FROMILID UNO 500 mg. 7 tablets
FROMILID is an antibiotic of the macrolide group. It works by stopping the glorious growth of bacteria that cause infections in humans.
FROMILID uno is intended to treat respiratory infections (eg. Sinus infections, throat, tonsils, bronchi and lungs), infections of the skin and subcutaneous tissue.
FROMILID uno is used in adults and children 12 years and older.
2. BEFORE YOU TAKE FROMILID UNO
Do not take FROMILID uno
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to clarithromycin or other macrolide antibiotics or any of the other ingredients of FROMILID uno;
If you have low levels of potassium in your blood (hypokalemia);
If you have severe liver disease and kidney problems;
If you are taking medicines for high cholesterol (eg lovastatin or simvastatin);
If you and / or someone in your family have heart problems that can lead to serious heart rhythm disturbances (syndrome of long QT);
If you are taking any of the following medications:
Ergotamine or dihydroergotamine (for migraine);
Cisapride (for stomach disorders);
Pimozide (for some mental illnesses);
Terfenadine or astemizole (for hay fever or allergy).
Take special care with FROMILID uno
Consult your doctor before you start taking FROMILID:
If you have severe kidney problems;
If you have liver disease;
If you develop severe or persistent diarrhea during or after taking FROMILID should consult your doctor immediately;
If you suffer from a disease called myasthenia gravis;
If you are already taking colchicine, as this can cause serious side effects;
Prolonged use of FROMILID may result in the overgrowth of resistant bacteria (superinfection);
If you have any heart disease;
If you have a slow heart rate (bradycardia);
In case you have low levels of magnesium in your blood;
If you suffer from porphyria.
Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
The effect of treatment can be influenced if FROMILID is taken with certain other medicines. You may need to change the dose, to take other precautions, or in some cases to stop taking one of the medicines. This particularly applies to the following medicines:
Carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin, valproate (medicines for epilepsy);
Theophylline (for asthma);
Warfarin (a blood thinner);
Ergotamine or dihydroergotamine (for migraine);
Triazolam, midazolam or alprazolam (sedatives);
Disopyramide, digoxin, quinidine or verapamil (used to treat abnormal heart rhythms);
Simvastatin or lovastatin (used to treat high cholesterol);
Pimozide (for the treatment of schizophrenia or other psychotic disorders);
Fluconazole or itraconazole (to treat fungal infections);
Rifabutin, rifampicin (antibiotics active against certain infections);
Efavirenz, nevirapine, zidovudine, ritonavir, atazanavir or saquinavir (medicines for HIV);
Cyclosporine, sirolimus or tacrolimus (after organ transplants);
Terfenadine or astemizole (for hay fever or allergy);
Cisapride or omeprazole (for stomach disorders);
Colchicine (for gout);
Tolterodine (in bladder problems);
Insulin or oral antidiabetic drugs (for diabetes);
St. John's wort (herbal medicine);
Cilostazol (to improve circulation in the legs);
Methylprednisolone (inflammatory diseases);
Sildenafil, tadalafil or vardenafil (erectile dysfunction);
Vinblastine (for cancer treatment).
Taking FROMILID uno with food and drink
Take FROMILID uno during meals. Swallow the tablet whole with at least half a cup of liquid.
Pregnancy and lactation
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine.
As the safety of FROMILID uno during pregnancy has not been established, your doctor will prescribe this drug only when really necessary. It is not recommended to breast-feed during treatment with FROMILID uno.
Driving and using machines
FROMILID may make you feel confused, disoriented or dizzy, cause seizures, panic or change in sense of reality, or see things that are not there. Make sure you do affects so before you drive or operate machinery.
Important information about some of the ingredients of FROMILID uno
FROMILID uno contains lactose. Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose molabsorbtsiya should not take this medicine.
Each tablet contains FROMILID uno 12,85 mg sodium. Dose (higher) 1 tablet contains FROMILID uno (more than) 23 mg 1 mmol) sodium. This must be taken into consideration by patients who are on restricted diet salt.
3. HOW TO TAKE FROMILID UNO
Always take FROMILID uno exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The dosage and duration of treatment depend on the type of infection, the site of infection, the age of the patient and response to treatment. Take your medicine as prescribed by your doctor.
The usual dose for adults and children over 12 years of age is one 500 mg tablet every 24 hours. In severe infections, the daily dose is 2 tablets of 500 mg every 24 hours. Treatment generally lasts from 6 to 14 days.
You should not crush the tablets. Swallow each tablet with at least half a cup of liquid during meals.
If you have severe kidney problems, your doctor may give you a different dose.
If you take more dose FROMILID uno
If you take an overdose you should consult with your doctor or pharmacist immediately! Overdose usually causes gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain), headache and confusion. Treatment is symptomatic.
If you forget to take FROMILID uno
If you forget to take a dose at the time, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your usual dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up.
If you stop taking FROMILID uno
Take this medicine as long as your doctor prescribes. If you stop treatment too early, the disease can recur.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines. FROMILID can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

yellowing of the skin and other liver disorders;
serious illness with blistering of the skin, mouth, eyes and genitals (syndrome of Stevens-Johnson), severe illness and peeling of skin (toxic epidermal necrolysis), acne, rash medicines;
abnormal muscle breakdown which can lead to kidney problems (rhabdomyolysis), pain or weakness in muscles (myopathy);
increased risk of bleeding, discoloration of urine.

5. HOW TO STORE FROMILID UNO
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Uno FROMILID should not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not store above 25 ° C.
Store in the original package in order to protect from moisture.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medications that are no longer needed. These measures will help to protect the environment.

What Fromnlid uno
The active substance is clarithromycin (clarithromycin).
Each modified-release tablet contains 500 mg of clarithromycin.
The other ingredients are sodium alginate, sodium calcium alginate, lactose monohydrate, povidone, polysorbate 80 (E433), colloidal anhydrous silica, talc (E553b) in the tablet core and hypromellose (E464), talc (E553b), quinoline yellow dye (E104 ), titanium dioxide (E171), propylene glycol (E1520) in the sheath.
