The active substance in Elidel 1% pimecrolimus cream is (pimecrolimus).
Excipients ELIDEL 1% cream are: triglycerides medium chain , oleyl alcohol , propylene glycol , stearyl alcohol, mono and diglycerides , sodium cetostearyl sulphate , benzyl alcohol, citric acid anhydrous , sodium hydroxide , purified water .
1. What Elidel 1% cream and what is it used for?
Elidel 1% cream is a whitish , odorless, clean and easily spreadable cream . One gram Elida 1% cream contains 10 mg of pimecrolimus . Does not contain steroids.
Elidel 1% cream treat specific skin inflammation atopic dermatitis ( eczema) . Act on those cells in the skin that cause inflammation , redness and itching characteristic of mild to moderate eczema.
1% cream ELIDEL is supplied in tubes of 2 g and 15 g.
The cream used for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of mild to moderate eczema ( atopic dermatitis ) in children less than 2 years, in adolescent and adult patients. When its use started at the first signs and symptoms Elida 1% cream to prevent disease progression . Elidel 1% cream is used only if other prescribed medicines or emollients have not worked with you or if your doctor has recommended you do not use other drugs.
2 . Before the use of Elidel 1% cream

Do not use Elidel 1% cream
• If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to pimecrolimus , other makrolaktami or any other ingredients of Elidel 1% cream.

Take special care with Elidel 1% cream
Elidel 1% cream is approved for children over 2 years of age. Therefore it should not be used in children under this age. Please consult your doctor.
Elidel 1% cream is intended for atopic dermatitis. Do not use with other skin conditions.
Elida 1% cream is intended for external use only . Do not apply Elida 1% cream inside the nose, eyes or mouth . Elida 1% cream may cause reactions at the injection site as a feeling of warmth and / or burning sensation . These reactions are usually mild and short . Using other medicines

3 . How to use Elidel 1% cream?

Apply cream in the following sequence :
• Wash and dry hands.

4 . Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Elidel 1% cream may have some side effects . The most common side effect of Elida 1% cream is a feeling of warmth and / or burning at the application site . Rare side effects reported in 1 in every 1,000 to 1 in 10,000 patients include : may occur alcohol intolerance (in most cases, redness , rash, burning, itching or swelling shortly after alcohol intake ), allergic skin reactions ( eg . dermatitis , urticaria) . rarely in patients using Elidel 1% cream reported cases of malignant skin lesions including lymphoma and skin cancer. However, there is no evidence to confirm or dispel relationship to treatment with Elidel 1%.

5 . Storage Elidel 1% cream
The cream is supplied in tubes containing 2 g and 15 g.
Keep out of reach of children .
Store at temperatures below 25 ° C.
Do not freeze .
Store in original container.
Keep the tube in the outer carton . Keep the tube tightly closed .
Do not use after the expiry date stated on the carton and tube.
Once opened , the tube must be used within 12 months.
