What Elosalic and what it is used?
Mometasone is a potent corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory and anti-itching effect. Salicylic acid works to remove dry and flaky skin . It also increases the absorption of mometasone .
Elosalic is used for the treatment of psoriasis , especially one which has a skin peeling .
2 . What you should know before using Elosalic ?
Do not use Elosalic :
- If you are allergic ( hypersensitive) to mometasone furoate , salicylic acid or any of the other ingredients of Elosalik ;
- If you have a skin infection caused by bacteria or fungi;
- If you have a viral infection such as herpes or chickenpox / shingles ;
- If you have rosacea or perioral dermatitis ( rash around the mouth ) , acne or skin atrophy. Elosalik should not be used during the last three months of pregnancy.
Take special care with Elosalic
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes . Do not use Elosalik on your face no particular prescription. Application for long periods and over larger areas of the skin should be avoided , as well as the use on wounds, damaged skin , skin folds and in the groin . The ointment should be used in a bandage or compress.
Salicylic acid may also act as a sun screen ( sunscreen effect), which may lead to an increase of the burns on the surrounding areas , unprotected by the ointment . If you are subjected to UV treatment , you should take extra care to remove the ointment and clean the area before treatment. Upon completion of the UV treatment may still apply medicine.
If symptoms do not improve or worsen , you should consult your doctor. As with all corticosteroids, therapy should be discontinued when symptoms of the disease disappear.
Elosalik not recommended for children under the age of 12 without a prescription. Other medicines and Elosalik
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Pregnancy and lactation
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine. pregnancy
Risk of affecting the fetus. If you are pregnant always consult with your doctor before starting treatment with Elosalik . Elosalik should not be used during the last three months of pregnancy.
It is not known whether Elosalic passes into breast milk. If you are breastfeeding , always consult your doctor before starting treatment with Elosalic .
Driving and using machines
Important information about some of the ingredients of Elosalik
Elosalic contains propylene glycol stearate ( monoester ) , which can cause skin irritation.
In this case, immediately discontinue treatment.
3 . Elosalic How to use ?
Always use Elosalic exactly as your doctor tells you . If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The dose and duration of treatment is determined by your doctor. The maximum daily dose is 15 g. Do not use a larger amount of the drug and did not apply for a longer period than your doctor prescribes.
Apply a thin layer of medicine to the affected area morning and evening or as directed by your doctor. Then wash your hands with soap .
If you use more than the amount Elosalic
If you accidentally take the drug orally, you should contact your doctor immediately , the hospital or the emergency room .

4 . Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Elosalic can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them .
Elosalik may cause the following side effects: burning sensation at the injection site , itching , local skin atrophy , striae rarely , infection of the treated area , rosacea - like dermatitis , ecchymosis and folliculitis . In rare cases it can cause hypertrichosis (excessive hair growth ) , hypopigmentation , hypersensitivity or suppression of adrenal function .
If any of the side effects gets serious, or you notice other effects not listed in this leaflet , please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
5 . Elosalic How to store ?
Keep out of reach of children. Keep under 3 () ° C.
Shelf life after first opening: 6 weeks .
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and tube after " EXP" . The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not dispose of medications in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required . These measures will help to protect the environment.
6 . Contents of the pack and other information
What does Elosalic ?
The active substances are : 1 mg / g of mometasone furoate and 50 mg / g of salicylic acid . The other ingredients are: hexylene glycol , propylene glycolic stearate ( monoester ) , beeswax, white paraffin, white soft , and purified water.
Elosalic looks like and contents of the pack ?
The drug is available in white , enameled aluminum tubes with a protective membrane with white HDPE screw cap containing 15 g Elosalik . Each tube along with an information sheet was placed in a cardboard box.
