B 1 g of Dovobet ointment contains:
Drugs: Calcipotriol 50 ?g (as monohydrate) and betamethasone 0.5 mg (as dipropionate).
Other ingredients: liquid paraffin Polyoxypropylene-15-stearyl ether, ?-tocopherol, white soft paraffin.
Dovobet is a medicine for the treatment of psoriasis. In psoriatic skin, in contrast to normal, cells proliferate much faster than the process of their maturation. This causes redness, scaling and thickening of the skin. Dovobet normal growth and maturation of the cells of your skin.
Dovobet is used for the topical treatment of plaque psoriasis vulgaris amenable to topical treatment.
Do not use this product in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
Dovobet should not be used:
if you are allergic to any ingredient in patients with disorders of calcium metabolism due to the content of calcipotriol

Precautions before and during use of the product
Dovobet should not be used on the face. Wash your hands after each application.
If you use it to treat psoriasis of the hands, avoid any contact with your face.
Dovobet not use on large areas of damaged skin and podokluzivni dressings unless instructed by your doctor. When you stop treatment with corticosteroids, the risk of "rebound" effect.

Pregnancy and lactation
Dovobet should be used during pregnancy only as determined by your doctor.
Special care is required when prescribing Dovobet women
are breastfeeding. Dovobet should not be used on the breast when breastfeeding.
Dosage and method of administration
Adults: Dovobet should be applied to affected areas once daily. The recommended treatment period is 4 weeks. After this period, repeated treatment with Dovobet ® can be initiated under medical supervision.
Maximum dose: 15 g daily, 100 g weekly. The treated surface shall not be more than 30%.
Children: no experience.
If your doctor has prescribed a different dose, follow his instructions.
Apply a medicinal product on the affected areas. Wash your hands after application.
If you use large amounts of Dovobet (more than 100 g per week) that can cause an increase in calcium levels in the blood and / or can suppress pituitary-adrenal function, resulting in secondary adrenal insufficiency. Calcium levels and adrenal functions will return to normal after stopping the use of suspected overdose, call your doctor. If possible, show the doctor the package.
Some patients Dovobet can cause itching, which, however, is mild and transient. Contact your doctor if the itching is long. Other local reactions observed with the use of topical calcipotriol include irritation, dermatitis, skin redness (erythema), worsening of psoriasis, photosensitivity reactions and hypersensitivity, including very rare cases of angioedema and facial edema.
Although so far they have not been observed in clinical studies with Dovobet, topical use of corticosteroids may result in skin atrophy, permanent expansion of capillaries or small blood vessels in the skin (telangiectasia), stretch marks especially during prolonged application. Rarely may occur as with other glucocorticoids folliculitis, excessive hair growth (hypertrichosis), inflammation of the skin around the mouth (perioral dermatitis), allergic contact dermatitis and depigmentation. Rarely seen pustular psoriasis. Very rarely can occur systemic effects after topical administration of the drug eg. increased levels of calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia) of calcipotriol or suppression of adrenal cortex steroids.
