DUSPATALIN WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?

Duspatalin contains a medicine called mebeverin. It belongs to the group of so-called antispasmodics, which act on the intestines.
Intestines are long muscular tube that carries food passes and is processed.
When the spasm in the intestines, they become narrow, causing pain. This medicine helps relieve pain and spasm.
Duspatalin is used to relieve the symptoms of so-called irritable bowel syndrome. These symptoms can vary but may include:
 Stomach pain or cramps;
 Feelings of bloating and flatulence;
 Diarrhea, constipation or a combination of both;
 Small, hard stools in the shape of balls or bars.
Contact your doctor if your symptoms worsen or do not improve after 2 weeks of treatment.
 

 BEFORE YOU TAKE DUSPATALIN

 
You should not take this medicine if:
 Are allergic to mebeverin or any of the other ingredients of Duspatalin. If you're not sure, ask your doctor!
 
Take special care with Duspatalin
Ask your doctor before taking this medicine if:
 This is the first time you get these symptoms
 You have blood in your stool
 If you feel sick or vomit
 If you are pale and feel tired
 If you have severe constipation
 If you have a fever
 If you have recently traveled abroad
 If you have difficulty or pain when urinating
 If you have unusual bleeding or vaginal discharge
 If you are pregnant and breast-feeding
If any of the above applies to you, talk to your doctor before taking Duspatalin!
 
Taking other medicines
Duspatalin not expected to affect any other medicines you are taking. However, tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines. This includes non-prescription medicines and herbal products.
Coated tablets have a sugar coating for oral administration containing 135 mg mebeverinov hydrochloride.
 
Pregnancy and lactation
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor for advice before taking medication!
 Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or may be pregnant. Duspatalin not recommended during pregnancy. Your doctor may advise you to stop taking Duspatalin or replace it with another drug.
 Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding or starting to breastfeed. Duspatalin not recommended during lactation. Your doctor may advise you to stop breastfeeding or take a different medicine if you want to breastfeed.
 
Driving and operating machinery
It is unlikely that this drug can affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
Important information about some of the ingredients of Duspatalin.
Duspatalin contains lactose and sucrose (sugars). If you can not tolerate or processed sugars, talk to your doctor!
 

 HOW TO USE DUSPATALIN

 
Always Duspatalin exactly as described below. If you're not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Duspatalin can be taken by adults and children over 10 years of age.
Swallow the tablets whole with a full glass of water. Do not crush or chew.
Try to take them at the same time each day. This will help you remember to take them.
The usual dose is one tablet three times daily. Do not take more.
 
The tablets work best if you take them 20 minutes before meals and taking them evenly distribute throughout the day.
Duspatalin Do not give to children under 10 years of age.
 
If you take more than the dose Duspatalin
If you have taken more medicine you should tell your doctor immediately or go to the hospital. Take the carton and this leaflet with you.
If you forget to take Duspatalin
If you miss a dose, take the next regular time. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor!
 

 POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

 
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The following side effects may occur with this medicine:
Stop taking Duspatalin and go to your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following
serious side effects - you may need urgent medical treatment:
 Difficulty in breathing, swelling of the face, neck, lips, tongue, or throat. You can have a severe allergic reaction to the drug.
If you get the above effects, stop Duspatalin and immediately meet with the doctor!
 
Other side effects include:
 You may get a mild allergic reactions - skin rash, red and itchy skin.
If any of these effects gets serious, or if you notice effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor.
 

 HOW TO STORE DUSPATALIN

 
 Keep out of reach of children
 Do not store above 30 ° C. Store in the original package!
 Do not use Duspatalin after the expiry date stated on the pack. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
 Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your doctor how to dispose of medication that you need. These measures will help to protect the environment.
