WHAT PRESTANCE-KO AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?
Prestarium co-prescribed to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and / or treatment of stable coronary artery disease (a condition in which blood supply to the heart is reduced or blocked). Patients previously receiving perindopril and amlodipine from separate tablets can instead receive one tablet PRESTARIUM-KO, which contains two components.
PRESTANCE-CO is a combination of two active substances, amlodipine and perindopril.
Perindopril is an ACE inhibitor. Amlodipine is a calcium antigonist (which belongs to a class of drugs called dihydropyridines). Together they cause expansion and loosening of the blood vessels, so blood flows more easily through them and easier for your heart to maintain a good flow.
BEFORE YOU TAKE PRESTANCE-KO
Do not take:
If you are allergic to perindopril or any other ACE inhibitor, or to amlodipine or other dihydropyridines, or any of the other ingredients of PRESTARIUM-KO
If you are breastfeeding
In the last six months of pregnancy
If received Stem symptoms like wheezing, swelling of the face or tongue, intense itching or severe skin rashes in previous treatment with an ACE inhibitor or if you or a member of your family has had these symptoms in other circumstances
If you are in a state of cardiac arrest (when the heart can not supply enough blood to the body), aortic stenosis (narrowing of the main blood vessel coming from the heart) or unstable angina (chest pain that can occur at rest)
If you have severe hypotension (very low blood pressure)
If you have heart failure after acute myocardial infarction during the first 28 days.
Take special care with PRESTANCE-KO
If you have any of the following, please tell your doctor before taking PRESTARIUM-KO
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (heart muscle disease) or renal artery stenosis (narrowing of the artery that supplies blood to the kidney)
Any other heart problems
Kidney problems or are on dialysis
Kidney problems or are on dialysis
Collagen vascular disease (disease of the connective tissue), such as systemic lupus erythematosus or scleroderma
If you are on a diet with limited content of salt or use salt substitutes that contain potassium (a well-balanced level of potassium in the blood is important)
If you think you are pregnant or might become pregnant. PRESTARIUM-KO is not recommended in early pregnancy and may cause serious harm to your baby after 3 months of pregnancy
When taking PRESTANCE-CA You should also tell your doctor or medical staff:
If you get general anesthesia and / or major surgery
If you have recently suffered from diarrhea or vomiting
If you are due to (a) LDL apheresis (atstranyavane cholesterol from your blood with machine)
If you are desensibilizatsionno treatment to reduce the effects of an allergy to bee sting or a wasp.
Co-PRESTANCE not recommended for use in children and adolescents.
Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines
You should avoid taking PRESTANCE, CO with:
Potassium-sparing diuretics, potassium supplements or potassium containing salt substitutes.
Treatment with CO-PRESTARIUM may be affected by other drugs. Be sure to tell your doctor if you are taking / receiving any of the following medicines as they may need special attention
Other medicines for high blood pressure, including diuretics
NSAIDs for pain relief or high-dose aspirin
Medicines to treat diabetes
Medicines to treat mental disorders, such as. depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, etc.
An immunosuppressant used to treat autoimmune diseases or after transplant surgery
Allopurinol (for gout)
Procainamide (to treat irregular heartbeat)
Including vasodilators. nitrates (products that expand blood vessels)
Heparin (a medication to thin the blood)
Ephedrine, noradrenaline or adrenaline (medicines used to treat low blood pressure, shock or asthma)
Baclofen or dantrolene (infusion), both used to treat muscle cure in diseases such as multiple sclerosis, dantrolene is used to treat malignant hyperthermia during anesthesia (symptoms include a high body temperature and muscle hardening)
Certain antibiotics such as. rifampicin
Antiepileptics such as. carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin, fosphenytoin, primidone,
Itraconazole, ketoconazole (medicines used to treat fungal infections)
Alpha-blocker used to treat an enlarged prostate, such as. prazosin, alfuzosin, doxazosin, tamsulosin, terazosin
Gold salts, especially intravenous
Pregnancy and lactation
You should tell your doctor if you think you are pregnant or might become pregnant. Usually your doctor will advise you to take another medicine instead PRESTANCE-KO, as it is not recommended in early pregnancy and may cause serious harm to your baby if used after 3 months of pregnancy. Appropriate antihypertensive drug should normally replace PRESTARIUM-KO before nabremennostta.
Your doctor will normally advise you to stop taking PRESTANCE-KO before pregnancy.
If you become pregnant during treatment with CO-PRESTANCE, please contact immediately and go see your doctor.
Use of this medicine is not recommended during lactation.
DRIVE AND USE MACHINES
PRESTARIUM-KO does not affect the state of wakefulness, but you could feel dizzy or faint due to low blood pressure, which could affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.
HOW TO TAKE?
Always take the medicine exactly as your doctor tells you. If you're not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Swallow your tablets with a glass of water, preferably at the same time every day, in the morning before eating. Your doctor will decide what is the right dose for you. The usual dose is usually one tablet daily.
PRESTANCE Co-usually prescribed to patients already taking perindopril and amlodipine from separate tablets.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, PRESTANCE-CO can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
If any of these side effects, stop taking the drug immediately and contact your doctor immediately:
Swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue or throat, difficulty breathing
Severe dizziness or fainting
Unusually fast or irregular heartbeat.
Other side effects are:
Common side effects

Uncommon side effects
rapid changes in mood, sleep disturbances shivering, syncope, loss of sensation of pain, rhinitis, changes in bowel habits, hair loss, red or discolored skin patches, back pain, muscle or joint pain, chest pain, frequent urination especially at night, discomfort, bronchospasm, dry mouth, angioedema symptoms such as wheezing, swelling of the face or tongue, kidney changes, impotence, increased potlivost, breast enlargement in men, weight gain or weight loss
Very rare side effects
confusion, cardiovascular disorders, eosinophilic pneumonitis, erythema multiforme, blood disorders, pancreas, stomach or liver, peripheral neuropathy, abnormal increased muscle tone, vasculitis, swollen gums, increased blood sugar
