WHAT CO-DIROTON AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?

Co-Diroton is a tablet that contains two active substances - Lisinopril dihydrate and hydrochlorothiazide.
The combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide is used to treat high blood pressure.
Lisinopril belongs to the group of medicines known as Angiotenzivkonvertirasht enzyme / ACE / inhibitors. They act as dilate blood vessels. The heart can more easily pump blood around your body.
Hydrochlorothiazide belongs to the group of medicines known as diuretics. They work by stopping the re-absorption of salt and water from the kidneys back to the bloodstream. This causes increased urine output and loss of salt through the urine, which helps to lower blood pressure.

BEFORE YOU CO-DIROTON

Do not take Co-Diroton
 
 If you are pregnant after the third month
If you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed
 If you are allergic to lisinopril, hydrochlorothiazide or any of the other ingredients of Co-Diroton.
 If you suffer from a condition known as angioedema that occurred during previous treatment with an ACE inhibitor, or have a history of this disease is not associated with ACE inhibitor
If you have previously been treated with ACE inhibitors or diuretics and have an allergic reaction
 If you have severe narrowing of the aorta or severe thickening of the heart muscle
If you have severe kidney problems, such as urinary neotdelyane
 If you suffer from severe liver disease
 If you have gout
Take special care with co-Diroton
 If you have a narrowing of the aorta, renal arteries or thickening of the heart muscle
 If you have any other heart problems eg. angina
 If you have liver or kidney problems or are on dialysis
 If you are on a diet with low salt intake and take potassium-containing salt substitutes or supplements
 Or have diarrhea or vomit
 If you have a treatment called LDL-apheresis to remove cholesterol from your body using a machine
 If you are desensitization treatment
 If you have diabetes because you may need a different dose of your diabetes medicine while taking Co-Diroton
 If you have ever had an allergic reaction which included difficulty in swallowing or breathing, swelling of the hands, feet or ankles, face, lips, tongue or throat
 If you have or have had inflammatory condition known as lupus, which is caused by an autoimmune disease and can affect the skin, heart, lungs, kidneys, joints, and nervous system.
Taking other medicines:
Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including. drugs without a prescription, but mostly prescription prescription as:
 Diuretics
 Other medicines for high blood pressure
 NSAIDs
 Medicines for mental disorders such as lithium, antipsychotics or tricyclic antidepressants
 Potassium tablets, potassium-sparing agents or potassium-containing salt substitutes
 Medicines to treat diabetes, such as insulin or drugs for oral intake to lower blood sugar
Drugs that stimulate the central nervous system
 Medicines that suppress the body's immune response
 Treatment with allopurinol
 Alcohol
Barbiturates, tranquilizers drugs that can be used to treat insomnia and epilepsy
Drugs, morfinopodobni drugs used for pain
 Resins used to lower high cholesterol levels
 Antiarrhythmic agents, such as procainamide or sotalol,
 AKTX, used to check whether your adrenal glands are working properly
Corticosteroids used to treat various diseases, including rheumatism, arthritis, allergies, certain skin diseases, asthma or certain blood disorders
Cardiac glycosides,
 Trimetroprim
Antifungals containing amphotericin B
 Muscle relaxants like tubocurarine
Antacid used to neutralize gastric acidity
 Cytostatic drugs used to treat cancer
ADMISSION OF CO-DIROTON Food and Beverage
Talk to your doctor about the safe consumption of alcohol while taking co-Diroton. Alcohol can worsen the side effects of the Co-Diroton
Pregnancy and lactation
Co-Diroton is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation. Tell your doctor if you are breast-feeding or intend to breast-Diroton Co. should not be used during breastfeeding.

DRIVE AND USE MACHINES

 
Do not expect co-Diroton affect your ability to drive or operate machinery safely. However, you should not perform activities that require attention, before knowing what influenced your medication on you.
 

HOW TO CO-DIROTON

The combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide is a tablet for oral administration.
The usual dose of Co-Diroton is one or two tablets once daily with or without food.
To have the same effect, co-Diroton is important to take at the same time.
Co-Diroton should not be given to children.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

 
Stop taking co-Diroton and seek immediate medical attention if any of the following situations:
If you have difficulty in breathing, with or without swelling of the face, lips, tongue and / or throat.
 If you get swelling of the face, lips, tongue and / or throat that may cause difficulty in swallowing.
 If you have severe itching of the skin
Common: dizziness, headache, cough, fatigue, weakness, decreased sexual ability, decreased blood pressure, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, skin rash, blood tests may show raised levels of liver enzymes, bilirubin, urea nitrogen, creatinine
Uncommon: dry mouth, discomfort in the chest, gout, runny nose
Rare: blood tests may show higher or lower levels of serum potassium, increased blood sugar and anemia, palpitation, inflammation of the pancreas, muscle weakness, severe skin disorders, allergic reactions
Very rare: decreased number of white blood cells and platelets, liver inflammation, inflammation of the intestines.
Other side effects reported with the use of various substances that can have potential side effects in Co-Diroton include:
Lisinopril:
Heart attack or stroke, possibly because of the strong in lowering blood pressure in patients with a predisposition, rapid heartbeat, kidney failure, stomach pain, indigestion, mood swings, confusion, feeling of dizziness, change in taste, difficulty sleeping, hair loss, hives, sweating, itching, psoriasis, kidney problems
Hydrochlorothiazide:
Lack of appetite, constipation, gastric irritation, inflammation of the salivary glands, feeling dizziness, visual disturbances, red patches, hives, breathing difficulties, anxiety, transient blurred vision, kidney problems, sugar in the urine.

Co-Diroton 10 mg/12, 5 mg tablets contain 10 mg of lisinopril and 12.5 mg hydrochlorothiazide
co-Diroton 20 mg/12, 5 mg tablets contain 20 mg of lisinopril and 12.5 mg hydrochlorothiazide.
The other ingredients are:
Co-Diroton 10 mg/12, 5 mg tablets: mannitol, indigotine, maize starch, pregelatinised maize starch, calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, pregelatinised maize starch, magnesium stearate
Co-Diroton 20 mg/12, 5 mg tablets: mannitol, indigotine, yellow iron oxide, corn starch, pregelatinized corn starch, calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, pregelatinised maize starch.
