Therapeutic indications:
When toxic liver damage. For adjunctive therapy in patients with chronic inflammatory liver disease or cirrhosis.

Dosage and administration:
It is used at a dose of 35-70 mg (1-2 table.) 3 times daily. Treatment of severe liver poisoning begins with a dose of 140 mg, three times daily, followed by a dose of 140 mg, 2 times daily. The course of treatment is usually lasting three months. In children, the daily dose is 5 mg / kg body weight, divided into 2-3 doses.
Interaction with others. drugs:
No clinically relevant interactions.
Adverse reactions:
In some cases, mild laxative or diuretic effect. Very rarely, susceptible patients observed strengthening of prior vestibular disorders that resolve after discontinuation of the drug.


Pharmacological action:
Carsil has hepatoprotective and antioxidant. Hepatoprotective effect is due to the stimulating synthesis of structural and functional proteins and phospholipids, and accelerate the regeneration of hepatocytes. Antioxidant effect is determined by the interaction of bioflavonoids free radicals in the liver and dezintoksikiraneto them. The active ingredients of thorn play a role in the stabilization of biomembranes of hepa-inflows, increased significantly detoxifying and antioxidant activity of the liver, incl. and synthesis of glutathione. Simultaneously stimulates protein synthesis and regenerative processes, which justifies the restoration of damaged liver cells. Milk thistle increases bile formation and accelerates its excretion, thereby normalizing processes of digestion and metabolism. Therefore, the plant is used in acute and chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, cholangitis, cholecystitis, and toxic liver damage as a result of poisoning by various chemicals, including alcohol, poisonous mushrooms and medicinal preparations.
