Carsil is a medicine that contains the active substance silymarin, isolated from the fruit of the plant milk thistle. Silymarin activated protein and phospholipid synthesis in the injured liver cells, stabilizes the cell membranes, binds to free radicals (antioxidant effect). Its main action is to protect the liver cells from the damaging effects of various factors such as alcohol, drugs, viral infections, industrial pollutants. Disability liver cells contributes to their faster recovery.
Used for the symptomatic treatment of chronic toxic liver impairment; for maintenance treatment in patients with chronic inflammatory diseases of the liver and liver cirrhosis.
2 BEFORE USING CARSIL
Do not take Carsil
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or any of the other ingredients;
In children there is not enough clinical data that should not be used in children under 12 years.
Take special care with Carsil
Treatment with Carsil can not replace diet or abstinence in hepatic impairment (eg. Alcohol).
Because of possible estrogenic potential application in patients with hormonal disorders (endometriosis, uterine fibroids, breast cancer, ovarian cancer and uterine cancer, carcinoma of the prostate) be done after consultation with a specialist.
Important information about the excipients of the medicinal product
This product contains wheat starch. Poses no risk to people with celiac disease. Patients with wheat allergy (different from celiac disease) should not take this medicine.
Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Carsil may reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives and drugs that are used in hormone replacement therapy. Can enhance the effects of drugs such as diazepam, alprazolam, ketoconazole, lovastatin, vinblastine.
Pregnancy and lactation

3 HOW TO TAKE CARSIL
Always take Carsil exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Carsil coated tablets are taken orally, with sufficient fluid.
The usual dose is 6 coated tablets 3 times a day (equivalent to 405 mg silymarin).
If your symptoms persist, seek the advice of your doctor. Duration of treatment is determined by your doctor.
If you take more than you should Carsil
If you take a dose higher than prescribed, consult your doctor.
If you forget to take Carsil
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as possible. If almost time for your next dose, take it as usual. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Continue to take your medicine as prescribed.

4 POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Carsil can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
The product is well tolerated. Rarely, in some cases, in individual sensitivity are possible side effects such as indigestion, diarrhea; in single cases - skin rash and itching; rarely possible strengthening of existing vestibular
disturbances (nausea, dizziness).

5 STORAGE OF CARSIL
In the original package to protect from light and moisture.
Do not store above 25 ° C.

The drug should not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

6 FURTHER INFORMATION
Each coated tablet contains 40,9 - 56,3 mg Silybi mariani fructus extractum siccum (35-50: 1) Eq. of 22,5 mg silymarin, as silibinin (HPLC).
The other ingredients are lactose monohydrate, corn starch, povidone, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, talc, mannitol, crospovidone, polysorbate 80 and sodium hydrogen carbonate.
Dragee coating: Cellulose acetophthalate, diethyl phthalate, sucrose, gum arabic, gelatine, talcum, titanium dioxide, macrogol 6000, glycerol, brown Opaluks.
