COSOPT is supplied in vials containing 5 ml of solution.
COSOPT is a combined preparation containing carbonic anhydrase inhibitor eye and ocular beta-blocker that reduces intraocular pressure by different mechanisms.

COSOPT drops 2% 5 ml


COSOPT (dorzolamide hydrochloride and timolol maleate, MSD) is a sterile eye drops. Each milimitar of solution contains 20 mg dorzolamide and 5 mg timolol as active ingredients.
Moreover COSOPT contains the following inactive ingredients: sodium citrate dihydrate 2.94 mg, hydroxyethyl cellulose 4.75 mg, mannitol 16.00 mg, sodium hydroxide (for pH adjustment) and double distilled water. As a preservative in medical product is used benzalkonium chloride.

What should I know about inactive components contained in COSOPT?
COSOPT contains the preservative benzalkonium chloride. This preservative may be delayed in soft contact lenses. If you wear contact lenses, ask your doctor before using COSOPT.

How should I use COSOPT?

Your doctor will decide the right dose for you and duration of treatment.
The usual dose is one drop in the affected eye COSOPT (s) in the morning and evening.
If you use COSOPT together with other eye drops, they should be the origin at intervals of not less than 10 minutes.
Do not change the dosage of the drug without you consult with your doctor. If you need to stop your treatment, tell your doctor about this.

Instructions for use:
 Before use, make sure the strip in front of the bottle is broken. Normally there is a gap between the bottle and cap in a closed vial.
 Tear off the strip to print vials.
  To open the bottle, unscrew the cap by turning in the direction shown by the arrows.
  Tilt your head back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down to get a 'pocket' between the eyelid and your eye.
  Turn the bottle by pressing with your thumb or forefinger in Push (marked with a circle of the vial) until a single drop drip into the eye as directed by your doctor.
Do not touch your eye or eyelid with top of the vial.
 Repeat the instructions from step 4 and 5 for the other eye if your doctor has appointed it.
 Replace the cap and screw in, so to come in close contact with the vial. Do not tighten the cap too much.
  Dropper is designed to provide drop with a predetermined amount; why not increase the opening of the dropper.
  After using all of the medicinal product in the vial will still have remained COSOPT. This should not bother you because the vial was added a little more COSOPT, so you'll get all that quantity prescribed by your doctor. Do not try to get the rest of the medicine in the bottle.
Frequency of application
Eye drops solution twice daily (morning and evening). Do not change the dosage without asking your doctor. If you must stop, immediately contact your doctor.

What side effects may have COSOPT?
