indications
For the treatment of acute hypocalcemia; hyperkalemia; hypermagnesemia; electrolyte imbalance; cardiac arrest.
 
Dosage and method of administration
In adults, administered by slow intravenous 10-20 ml and the dose can be repeated if necessary. In children it is administered intravenously in doses of 2-5 ml. Intravenous injection is done slowly 5 ml for 3-5 minutes in the supine position on the patient.
 
 
Contraindications
There is administered to patients with primary or secondary hypercalcemia; hypercalciuria; kidney stones with calcium content; sarcoidosis; renal failure; digitalis intoxication. Interactions with other drugs Calcium salts reduce absorption of tetracyclines.
When co-administered with cardiac glycosides increases the risk of arrhythmias. Adverse reactions usually occur with overdose of calcium. Concerns have been in dry mouth, metallic taste, thirst, loss of appetite, constipation, weakness and fatigue, anxiety, depression, headache. In rapid parenteral administration may occur nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bradycardia, hypotension and rarely collapse.
 
 
Formulation and packaging:
Solution for injection in vials of 10 ml of 5 pieces.
  Solution for injections in ampoules of 10 ml at 50 units.
