Buscolysin WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED
Buscolysin has pronounced antispasmodic (relaxing) effect on the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract, genitourinary system. Buscolysin used in treatment of diseases accompanied by painful spasms of the smooth muscles of the stomach, intestines, biliary tract, genitourinary system.
2 BEFORE YOU TAKE Buscolysin
Do not take Buscolysin
• if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or to any of the excipients of the medicinal product;
• If you have glaucoma (increased pressure);
• If you have myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness);
• if you have megacolon (enlargement and thickening of the wall of the colon).
Take special care with Buscolysin
Before starting treatment with Buscolysin ask your doctor if you have:
Cardiovascular disease, hypertension, hyperthyroidism (thyroid disease), pulmonary disease, hepatic or renal disease, epilepsy (seizures), diabetic NEUROPATHY, data intestinal obstruction (ileus), mechanical obstructions along the gastrointestinal tract, stenosis of the pylorus, gastroesophageal reflux disease (a condition where the acidic stomach contents back into the esophagus), achalasia (impaired motor activity of the esophagus), stomach ulcer, medium and severe ulcerative colitis (severe inflammation of the colon ), enlargement of the prostate with urinary retention. Due to the suppression of SWEATING, should be used with caution in an elevated temperature.
Buscolysin may provoke glaucoma (increased eye pressure). In case of eye pain and visual impairment after administration of Buscolysin a consultation with an ophthalmologist.
Buscolysin should be used with caution in individuals with xerostomia (dry mouth due to the reduction or absence of salivary glands), dry rhinitis (chronic nasal inflammation with little or no secretion).
Taking other medicines
Please consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. This includes herbal products.
• The effect of the drug may change if you take:
Medicines to treat Parkinson's disease, quinidine (antiarrhythmic), digoxin (cardiac glycoside) and three chetiritsiklichni antidepressants (medicines used to treat depression), antipsychotics (used to treat psychosis), antihistamines (anti-allergic), beta-mimetic (eg drugs for the treatment of bronchial asthma, such as clenbuterol, salbutamol, etc.), ketoconazole (a drug for the treatment of fungal infections), metoclopramide (used for vomiting), corticosteroids (hormonal agents), antacids and drugs (anti-acid), citrates.
Pregnancy and lactation
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine.
Not recommended for the drug during pregnancy, especially during the first 3 months. If you are pregnant, treatment with Buscolysin only be given under medical supervision.

Driving and using machines
Buscolysin may cause temporary visual impairment with difficulty in near vision. Refrain from driving until your vision is normal.
Important information about some of the ingredients of Buscolysin
Buscolysin contain excipients such as lactose and sucrose. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
This product contains a coloring agent E110 which may cause allergic reactions.
3 HOW TO TAKE Buscolysin
If you are not sure how to take Buscolysin, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The tablets should be swallowed whole (fasting or before meals) with sufficient water.
The usual dose is:
• Adults and children over 12 years: 1-2 tablets 2-4 times daily.
The maximum daily dose is 80 mg (8 tablets).
• Children 6 to 12 years: 1 tablet 3 times daily.
Not recommended for use Buscolysin in children under 6 years.
The duration of treatment with Buscolysin not exceed two weeks.
If you take more than you should Buscolysin
When administered at higher than usual doses Buscolysin tablets observed dry mouth and throat, difficulty swallowing, agitation, fever, palpitations, flushing, hallucinations.
If you suspect you have taken more than the required dose Buscolysin tell your doctor immediately! It may take emergency measures if necessary.
If you forget to take Buscolysin
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as possible. If almost time for your next dose, take it as usual, as skip the dose you forgot. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

4 POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Buscolysin can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Rarely can occur: dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, constipation, difficulty urinating, urinary retention, visual disturbances, fundus, increased intraocular pressure, suppressing the secretion of the lacrimal glands; tachycardia (rapid heartbeat), high blood pressure.
Rarely allergic (hypersensitivity) reactions such as itching, rash, urticaria, and very rarely - more pronounced, with episodes of difficulty breathing and anaphylactic shock. Sometimes, there is decreased SWEATING, dizziness, headache, nervousness, weakness, ataxia (a disorder of movement coordination).
In rare cases possible agitation, insomnia, anxiety, hallucinations (especially in children and the elderly).
If any of the side effects gets serious, or you notice other effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
5 HOW TO STORE Buscolysin
• Store in original container in a dry and dark place at a temperature below 25 ° C.
• Keep out of reach of children.
• Do not use Buscolysin after the expiry date stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
• Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

Contents Buscolysin
• The active substance is hiostsinov bromide 10 mg per tablet.
• The other ingredients are:
Tablet core: lactose monohydrate, tartaric acid; cellulose, microcrystalline; sodium starch glycolate, talc, magnesium stearate.
Wrap coating: talc, titanium dioxide, sucrose, gelatin, gum arabic, opaluks yellow A5 22808 (E104, E110, E171, E172, E211, sucrose, povidone), macrogol glycerol.
