Buscolysin belongs to antispasmodics - medications that suppress spasms of smooth muscle in the gastro - intestinal tract, biliary and urinary tract , the genitalia . It is used for treatment of the spasms of the smooth musculature of the stomach and duodenum, biliary , urinary tract, genitals to remove spasms of the smooth musculature of the generic tract during birth or abortion , some complications during birth , dysmenorrhea , smooth muscle relaxation and the reduction of secretion in diagnostic instrumental tests and procedures.
2 . Before applying Buscolysin
Do not apply Buscolysin
If you are allergic (hypersensitive ) to the active substance or to any of the ingredients of the product;
Glaucoma ( increased eye pressure) ;
If you have myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness) ;
If you megacolon (extension and thickening in the wall of the large intestine) ;
In the enlargement of the prostate with urinary retention .
Take special care with Buscolysin
Before starting treatment with Buscolysin tell your doctor if you have heart disease , high blood pressure , hyperthyroidism ( overactive thyroid gland) , lung disease, prostate problems .
Buscolysin can trigger the onset of glaucoma.
In case of eye pain and visual impairment after administration of Buscolysin a consultation with an ophthalmologist.
Buscolysin should be used with caution in individuals with xerostomia ( dry mouth due to the reduction or absence of salivary glands ) and dry rhinitis ( inflammation of the nasal mucosa without exudation ) .
Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Tell your doctor if you take:
Medicines to treat Parkinson's disease ;
Quinidine ( antiarrhythmic ) , digoxin ( cardiac glycoside ) ;
Tri-and chetiritsiklichni antidepressants ( medicines for treating depression ) ;
Antipsychotics ( for treating psychosis ) ;
Antihistamines ( allergy ) means;
Beta- mimetic (e.g., drugs used to treat asthma , such as clenbuterol , salbutamol , etc.).
Ketoconazole (a drug for the treatment of fungal infections) ;
Metoclopramide (used in vomiting ) .
Pregnancy and lactation
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine .
During pregnancy, treatment with Buscolysin only be given under medical supervision.
If you are breastfeeding Buscolysin therapy is not recommended because of the product is excreted in breast milk. Furthermore, it can reduce milk secretion due to inhibition of exocrine glands .
Driving and using machines
Buscolysin may cause temporary visual impairment with difficulty in near vision .
Refrain from driving until your vision is normal.
3 . HOW TO USE Buscolysin
Always Buscolysin exactly as your doctor tells you . If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The dose and duration of treatment is determined by the attending physician .
Buscolysin injection is administered by the intramuscular or intravenous slow .
Adults: 10-20 mg 2-4 times daily.
The maximum daily dose for adults is 100 mg .
Children over 6 years: only in severe spastic conditions - by 0.3-0.6 mg / kg bodyweight 2-4 times daily.
The maximum daily dose of 1.2 mg / kg.
If you use more than the amount Buscolysin
Can be any of the following symptoms of overdose - not : dry flushed skin , dilated pupils, increased heart rate , dry mouth and throat , difficulty swallowing , hoarse voice afonichen , neuropsychiatric disorders ( delirium , hallucinations , psychomotor agitation, ataxia ) , hyperthermia (fever ) , urinary retention , respiratory depression , collapse, coma .
Treatment is symptomatic and is held in a medical facility .
If you forget to use Buscolysin not take a double dose to make up . If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Like all medicines, Buscolysin can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Rarely can appear dry mouth, nausea , vomiting, constipation , difficulty urinating, urinary retention , impaired vision, dilation of the pupils , increased intra- ocular pressure , suppress the secretion of the lacrimal gland , tachycardia ( rapid heartbeat ) an increase in blood pressure. Sometimes itching , rash, decreased sweating , dizziness , headache , nervousness , weakness, ataxia ( disorder of movement coordination ) . In rare cases, possible agitation, insomnia , agitation, hallucinations ( especially in children and the elderly ) . Injection site may be redness . If any of the side effects gets serious, or you notice other effects not listed in this leaflet , please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
5 . HOW TO STORE Buscolysin
Protected from light place , at temperatures below 25 ° C.
Do not freeze !
Keep out of reach of children.
Buscolysin not use after the expiry date stated on the pack . The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required . These measures will help to protect the environment.
