BUSCOPAN 10 mg. 20 tablets
Butylscopolamin bromide is extracted from the flowers and leaves of the plant Duboisia myoporoides, whose curative action is rooted in the knowledge of the ancient cultures of South America. Boehringer Ingelheim maintained its resources to obtain a product of their own selected plantations in Brazil and Australia. Cultivation and processing of plants is done according to the most precise technological and environmental standards lead to the synthesis of high-quality pharmaceutical product passed the test of time.
As a quaternary ammonium compound, butylscopolamin bromide has a direct spasmolytic effect on the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal complex biliary tract and urogenital tract.
After oral administration, the active ingredient selectively blocking the muscarinic receptors of the visceral muscles, neutralizes the action of acetylcholine and relaxes smooth muscle spasm. In an additional selective ganglionic blocking effect by binding to nicotine receptors in visceral stena.Ne crosses the blood-brain barrier and has no systemic effects on the CNS.
Calcium hydrogen phosphate, corn starch, soluble starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, tartaric acid, stearic-palmitic acid, polyvinylpyrrolidone, sucrose, talc, arabic gum, titanium oxide, polyethylene glycol 6,000, carnauba wax, bleached wax.
BUSCOPAN has antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal, biliary and genitourinary tract. As a quaternary ammonium derivative Butylscopolamine bromide does not penetrate into the central nervous system. Therefore, neither adverse effects on the central nervous system. Peripheral antivagusovo action occurs as a result of ganglionic blocking action on the wall of the internal organs, and as a result of the antimuscarinic activity.
Spasm of the gastrointestinal tract, spasms and dyskinesia of the biliary system, spasms of genito-urinary tract.
Dosage and method of administration
Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor following dosages are recommended:
Adults and children over 6 years: 3-5 times daily 1-2 coated tablets. The coated tablets should be swallowed whole with a corresponding amount of liquid.
BUSCOPAN can enhance protivovagusovoto effect of some antidepressants, antihistamines, gvinidini, amantadine and disopyramide.
Concomitant treatment with dopamine antagonists such as metoclopramide may lead to a weakening of the action of both drugs on the gastrointestinal tract. Resulting from the use of beta-agonists (for asthma), heart rate can be enhanced by BUSCOPAN.
Pregnancy and lactation
Repeated observations show no evidence of ill effects during pregnancy in humans. Preclinical studies in rats and rabbits showed no embryotoxic or oncogenesis action. However, to be followed the usual precautions regarding the use of drugs during pregnancy, especially during the first three months. Safety during lactation has not been established. There were no reported side effects in the newborn.
May arise anticholinergic side effects, including skin manifestations, palpitations and possibly urinary retention, but they were mostly mild and transient. Very rarely hypersensitivity reactions, especially skin reactions. Were observed anaphylaxis episodes of dyspnea and shock.
In case of overdose can occur anticholinergic effects.
If necessary, should be appointed medicines called parasympathomimetics. In patients with increased intraocular pressure (glaucoma) should urgently seek advice from an ophthalmologist. Cardiovascular complications should be treated according to usual therapeutic principles. In the case of respiratory paralysis is undertaken intubation and mechanical ventilation. When urinary retention may need catheterization. If necessary, measures supporting vital functions.
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not apply after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
