BENFOGAMMA WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED

B1 deficiency can occur:

in insufficient and improper diet:
complete starvation
sided nutrition in alcoholics with severe consequences on health (alcoholic cardiomyopathy), degenerative disease of the brain (Wernicke's encephalopathy), memory disorders (Korsakoff)
morbid disorder in the absorption of nutrients in the intestines (malabsorption)
intravenous infusion of nutrients (parenteral nutrition)
elevated demand
hemodialysis

A deficiency in vitamin B1 may result in polyneuropathy.


2 BEFORE YOU TAKE BENFOGAMMA

Do not take Benfogamma
If you are hypersensitive (allergic) to benfotiamine or thiamine, or to any of the excipients.


Take special care with Benfogamma
If you know that you have an intolerance to some sugars, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.


Taking other medicines
Until now there are no known interactions with other medicines.


Pregnancy and lactation
Although so far no evidence of harm to the fetus (teratogenicity) and changes in the genetic material (mutagenic) during pregnancy and lactation Benfogamma should be taken only if the blood is a proven significant vitamin B1 deficiency. Moreover Benfogamma can be applied only for short periods of time, normalized blood.

3 HOW TO TAKE BENFOGAMMA
The following instructions apply if your doctor has prescribed Benfogamma otherwise. Please adhere to the instructions for use, otherwise Benfogamma can not exert its therapeutic effect!

Method of administration
Oral

In order to prevent a deficiency of vitamin B1:
1-2 times a week 1 tablet Benfogamma.

For the treatment of vitamin B1-deficient:
1 to 3 times daily 1 tablet, and occasionally more.

For the treatment of neurological diseases DESIGNATED (polyneuropathy), which can be caused by a deficiency of vitamin B1:
1-3 times daily 1 tablet, and occasionally more.

The tablets should be swallowed without chewing, with some liquid.

Duration of dosing
The duration of intake Benfogamma is determined by the success of therapy.


If you take more than you should Benfogamma
Due to the wide therapeutic product until now not known phenomena of overdose. However, in case of overdose, consult your doctor.


4 POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
As with all drugs, Benfogamma can cause side effects, although they do not necessarily manifest in any patient.

Contents Benfogamma

Active substance: benfotiamine.
One coated tablet contains 50 mg benfotiamine (fat-soluble derivative of vitamin B1).

Excipients:
Tablet core: corn starch, sucrose, gelatin, talc, stearic acid, magnesium stearate.
Tablet coating:
Colloidal silica, kaolin, macrogol-glycerol hydroxystearate, acacia, sucrose, corn starch, sodium lauryl sulphate, povidone K25, talc, titanium dioxide (E171), carmellose sodium, calcium carbonate, ppokozen syrup, macrogol 6000, Montan Wax glycol.
