What Auronal and what it is used?
The active ingredient of Auronal, felodipine belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers. It works by widening blood vessels, lowers blood pressure, which is also important in the treatment of angina.
Your doctor may prescribe Auronal if you suffer from high blood pressure or angina.
Before taking Auronal
Do not take Auronal:
If you are allergic to felodipine or any of the ingredients of Auronal
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding
The drug should not be given to children
Take special care with Auronal:
If you have severe heart disease or hypertension, Auronal may be suitable for you. If you are unsure about your condition or medications you are taking, ask your doctor for advice.
Taking other medicines:
Please note that the potential for drug interactions may also apply to medicines taken some time ago or to be taken in the future.
Cimetidine, erythromycin, phenytoin, barbiturates, or karbomazepin may affect your treatment Auronal. Make sure your doctor knows if you are taking any of the above medications, since you may need to reduce or increase the dose of Auronal.
Taking Auronal with food and drink
Grapefruit juice can affect the operation of some calcium antagonists such Auronal - this is important, so you should not drink grapefruit juice while you are taking your tablets.
Pregnancy and lactation
Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Driving and using machines:
If you feel dizzy after taking this medicine, you should not drive or operate machinery. This is particularly true for the beginning of treatment or after a dose increase.
Important information about some of the ingredients of Auronal:
Each prolonged-release tablet contains 2.5 mg 25.20 mg lactose, 5 mg tablet contains 23.95 mg lactose 10 mg tablet contains 21.45 mg lactose, respectively.
How to take Auronal?
If you take Auronal to treat high blood pressure, the usual dose for adults is 5 mg taken in the morning. Your doctor may prescribe a starting dose of 2.5 mg or may increase your dose to 10 mg once daily.
If you take Auronal to treat angina usual dose is 5 mg in the morning. Your doctor may increase the dose to 10 mg.
Swallow the tablets whole with water. Do not crush or chew the tablets.

Heartburn, nausea, constipation
Skin rash, "tingling"

Increased heart rate, dry mouth, upset stomach, joint pain, anxiety, itching, swollen gums.
