What Asolfena and what it is used?
The active substance of Asolfena belongs to the group of anticholinergic drugs. These drugs are used to reduce the activity of the overactive bladder . This allows you to wait longer before going to the toilet and increases the amount of urine , which can hold from your bladder .
Asolfena is used to treat the symptoms of a condition called overactive bladder. These symptoms include: the urgent need to go to the bathroom without warning signs often go to the toilet and wetting yourself , if you can not go to the toilet in time .
2 . Before you take Asolfena
Do not take Asolfena :
If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to solifenacin succinate or any of the other ingredients of Asolfena listed in Section 6. " What does Asolfena ."
If you are unable to urinate or completely empty your bladder ( urinary retention ) .
If you have severe gastro- intestinal complaints (including toxic megacolon , acute expansion of the colon associated with ulcerative colitis ) .
If a disease of muscle called myasthenia gravis, which may cause muscle weakness of certain muscles.
If you suffer from elevated intraocular pressure by gradual loss of vision (glaucoma ) .
If you are on hemodialysis.
If you suffer from severe liver disease.
If you suffer from severe kidney disease or moderate liver disease while taking medications that slow the elimination of Asolfena of the body ( eg, ketoconazole ) . In this case, your doctor will warn you .
Tell your doctor if any of the above points apply to you now or in the past, before you start treatment with Asolfena .
Take special care with Asolfena
If you are unable to completely empty your bladder when urinating ( obstruction of the bladder ) or difficulty in passing urine (weak stream of urine ) because the risk of accumulation of urine in the bladder ( urinary retention ) .
If you have digestive problems ( constipation ) .
If you are at risk of weakening the motility of the digestive system ( movement of the stomach and intestines ) . Your doctor will inform you if this is the case .
If you suffer from severe kidney disease.
If you have moderate to severe liver disease.
If you have a hiatal hernia ( heartburn ) or heartburn .
If you have nerve disease ( autonomic neuropathy ) .
If your doctor tells you that you have an intolerance to some sugars.
Asolfena should not be used by children or adolescents under 18 years of age.
Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had any of the above conditions before you start treatment with Asolfena .
Before you start taking Asolfena , your doctor will consider whether there are other reasons to urinate more frequently (eg, heart failure ( not strong enough pumping of blood by the heart) or renal disease) . If you have a urinary tract infection , your doctor will prescribe an antibiotic ( type of treatment against certain bacterial infections) .
Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
It is particularly important to tell your doctor if you take:
Other anticholinergic drugs , as the effects and side effects of both medicines may be increased .
Cholinergic drugs , as they can reduce the effect of Asolfena .
Drugs such as metoclopramide and cisapride, which enhance motility of the digestive system. Asolfena can weaken their effect .
Drugs such as ketoconazole , ritonavir , nelfinavir , itraconazole , verapamil and diltiazem, which reduce the rate at which is removed from the body Asolfena .
Drugs , such as rifampicin , phenytoin and carbamazepine, as they can increase the speed with which Asolfena be removed from the body.
Drugs such as bisphosphonates , which can cause or exacerbate inflammation of the esophagus ( esophagitis ) .
Taking Asolfena with food and drink
Asolfena can be taken with or without food , depending on your preference.
Pregnancy and lactation
You should not use Asolfena if you are pregnant unless clearly necessary. Asolfena not use if you are breastfeeding as solifenacin may be given in milk.
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine.
Driving and using machines
Asolfena can cause blurred vision and less sleepiness or fatigue. Therefore, if you experience these side effects, do not drive or operate machinery.
Important information about some of the ingredients of Asolfena
Asolfena contains lactose monohydrate. If your doctor tells you that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.
3 . How to take Asolfena
Instructions for proper use
Always take Asolfena exactly as your doctor tells you . You should consult with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure .
You should swallow the tablet whole with liquid. It can be taken with or without food , depending on your preference. Tablets should not be crushed .
The usual dose is 5 mg per day , unless your doctor has not told you to take 10 mg a day.
If you take more dose Asolfena
If you take too much Asolfena or if a child accidentally swallows Asolfena , contact your doctor or pharmacist !
Symptoms of overdose may include: headache, dry mouth, dizziness, drowsiness and blurred vision, seeing things that are not there ( hallucinations) , over- excitability , convulsions ( seizures ) , difficulty breathing , increased heart rate (tachycardia) , retention of urine in the bladder (urinary retention ), and dilated pupils ( mydriasis ) .
If you forget to take Asolfena
If you forget to take a dose at the usual time , take it as soon as you remember unless it is time for your next dose. Never take more than one dose per day . If in doubt , always consult your doctor or pharmacist.
If you stop taking Asolfena
If you stop taking Asolfena symptoms of overactive bladder may reappear or get worse. Always consult your doctor if you want to stop.

4 . Possible side effects
Asolfena may cause the following side effects:
* Dry Mouth
* Blurred vision
* Constipation, nausea, indigestion with symptoms such as feeling full belly
abdominal pain, belching, nausea and heartburn (dyspepsia ) , stomach discomfort
* Urinary tract infections , bladder infection
* Impaired sense of taste ( dysgeusia )
* Dryness ( irritation ) in the eyes
* Dry nose
* Reflux disease ( gastroesophageal reflux disease )
* Dry throat
* Dry skin
* Difficulty urinating
* Accumulation of fluid in the lower part of the legs ( edema )
* Accumulation of a large amount of hardened feces in the bowel ( colon obstruction )
* Retention of urine in the bladder because of inability to empty the bladder ( urinary retention)
* Hallucinations, confusion
* Dizziness, headache
* Changes in the electrical activity of the heart ( ECG) , irregular heartbeat (Torsade December Pointes)
Itching , rash, allergic rash
If any of the side effects gets serious , or you notice other effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
5 . Asolfena How to store ?
Keep out of reach of children.
Asolfena not use after the expiry date stated on the carton after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
This medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions
Shelf life after first opening is 3 months.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer need. These measures will help to protect the environment.

What does Asolfena ?
- The active substance is solifenacin succinate (solifenacin succinate).
One tablet contains 5 mg solifenacin succinate (solifenacin succinate), caotvetstvashta of 3,8 mg solifenacin (solifenacin).
One tablet contains 10 mg solifenacin succinate (solifenacin succinate), caotvetstvashta of 7,5 mg solifenacin (solifenacin).
- The other ingredients are lactose monohydrate, povidone K -25 and magnesium stearate (E572)
in the tablet core and hypromellose, talc (E553b), titanium dioxide (E171), triacetin, and iron oxide red (E172) ( only in tablets of 10 mg) in the film coating.
