ASIDUEL WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED
Asiduel contains the active ingredient pantoprazole, which blocks the " pump " which produce hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Thus it reduces the amount of acid in your stomach.
Asiduel used for short-term treatment of symptoms of gastric reflux (such as heartburn and acid regurgitation ) in adults.
Reflux is the backflow of acid from the stomach into the esophagus, which can cause inflammation and pain . This can lead to symptoms such as burning sensation in the chest rising up to the throat (heartburn ) and a sour taste in the mouth ( acid regurgitation) .
You may experience relief from the symptoms of acid reflux and heartburn after just one day of treatment with Asiduel , but this medicine is not meant to bring immediate relief. It may be necessary to take the tablets for 2-3 consecutive days to relieve the symptoms.

2 . BEFORE YOU TAKE ASIDUEL
Do not take Asiduel :
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to pantoprazole or any of the other ingredients of Asiduel ( listed in section 6 ' What does Asiduel " ) ;
if you are taking a medicine containing atazanavir (used to treat HIV infection) ;
if you are under the age of 18 years ;
if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Take special care with Asiduel
Tell your doctor if:
are treated continuously for heartburn or indigestion for 4 weeks or more ;
are aged over 55 and taking daily without prescription medicine for indigestion ;
you are over 55 years old with new or recently changed symptoms ;
you have experienced stomach surgery or have had a stomach ulcer ;
have liver problems or jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes) ;
regularly see your doctor for serious complaints or diseases;
should have an endoscopy or a breath test called a C-urea test.
Tell your doctor immediately if before or after taking this medicine , you notice any of the following symptoms , which may be a sign of other more serious disease :
unintentional loss of body weight ( not related to diet or exercise program) ;
vomiting , particularly if repeated ;
vomiting of blood; may look like coffee grounds in your vomit ;
if you notice blood in your stools , which can appear black or tarry in appearance ;
difficulty or pain when swallowing ;
look pale and feel tired (anemia) ;
chest pain ;
stomach pain ;
severe and / or persistent diarrhea, because Asiduel associated with a small increase in infectious diarrhea. Your doctor may decide that you need additional research.
If you need to have a blood test, tell your doctor that you are taking this medicine.

You may experience relief from the symptoms of acid reflux and heartburn after just one day of treatment with Asiduel , but this medicine is not meant to bring immediate relief.
You should not take it as a preventive measure .
If you have recurring symptoms of heartburn or indigestion , be sure to see your doctor.

Taking other medicines
Asiduel can prevent other medicines from working properly . Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medicines containing any of the following active substances:
ketoconazole (used to treat fungal infections) ;
warfarin and phenprocoumon (used to thin the blood and prevent clots ) . Maybe you need extra blood tests ;
atazanavir (used to treat HIV infection). You should not take Asiduel if you are treated with atazanavir .
Asiduel not take with other medicines reduce the production of hydrochloric acid in your stomach , like other proton pump inhibitors ( omeprazole , lansoprazole or rabeprazole ) or H2 blockers ( eg, ranitidine, famotidine ) .
However , it may take Asiduel with antacids (e.g., magaldrate , alginic acid , sodium bicarbonate , aluminum hydroxide , magnesium carbonate or combinations thereof ) , if necessary.
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. It also relates to a plant or homeopathic products .

Taking Asiduel with food and drink
The tablets should be swallowed whole with liquid before a meal .

Pregnancy and lactation
Asiduel not take if you are pregnant , think you may be pregnant or breast-feeding.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine .

Driving and using machines
If you experience side effects such as dizziness or disturbed vision, you should not drive or operate machinery.

Important information about some of the ingredients of Asiduel
Asiduel contains the coloring Ponceau 4R aluminum lake , which can cause allergic reactions.

3 . HOW TO TAKE ASIDUEL
Always take Asiduel exactly as described in this leaflet. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Take one tablet a day. Do not exceed the recommended dose of 20 mg pantoprazole daily.
You should not take this medicine for at least 2-3 consecutive days. Stop taking Asiduel when your symptoms subside completely. You may experience relief from the symptoms of acid reflux and heartburn after just one day of treatment with Asiduel , but this medicine is not meant to bring immediate relief.
If there is no improvement in symptoms after taking the drug for 2 consecutive weeks , consult your doctor.
Do not take tablets Asiduel more than four weeks without consulting your doctor.
Take the tablet before eating, at the same time each day. You should swallow the tablet whole with some water. Do not chew or crush the tablet .

Children and adolescents
Asiduel should not be used by children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

If you take more dose Asiduel
Tell your doctor or pharmacist immediately . If possible take your medicine and this leaflet with you . There are no known symptoms of overdose.

If you forget to take Asiduel
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Take your next normal dose the next day at the usual time .

If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4 . POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Asiduel can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them .

Tell your doctor immediately or contact the casualty department at your nearest hospital if any of the following serious side effects. Stop taking the drug immediately and take this leaflet and / or tablets with you .
Serious allergic reactions ( rare ) : Hypersensitivity reactions , so-called anaphylactic reactions , anaphylactic shock and angioedema . Typical symptoms are: swelling of the face , lips, tongue and / or throat that may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing, hives (nettle rash ), severe dizziness with very fast heartbeat and heavy sweating.
Serious skin reactions (frequency not known ): rash with swelling, blistering or peeling skin ; loss of skin and bleeding around the eyes , nose , mouth or genitals and rapid deterioration of the general condition or rash when exposed to sunlight.
Other serious reactions (frequency not known ): yellowing of the skin and eyes (due to severe liver damage ) , or kidney problems such as painful urination and lower back pain with fever.
Side effects may occur with certain frequencies, which are defined as follows :
very common: affects more than 1 in 10 patients ;
common: affects 1 to 10 of 100 patients ;
uncommon: affects 1 to 10 of 1000 patients ;
rare: affects 1 to 10 of 10 000 patients ;
very rare: affects less than 1 in 10 000 patients ;
unknown frequency : the frequency can not be estimated from the available data .
Uncommon side effects:
headache ; dizziness ; diarrhea ; nausea , vomiting ; bloating and release of large amounts of gases; constipation ; dry mouth ; colic and discomfort ; skin rash or hives; itching; feeling weak , feeling exhausted or generally unwell; sleep disorders; elevation of liver enzymes in blood tests.

Rare side effects:
visual disturbances such as blurred vision ; joint pain ; muscle pain ; changes in body weight ; fever ; swelling of the extremities ; allergic reactions; depression ; increased bilirubin and fat in the blood ( seen in blood tests) .

Very rare side effects:
disorientation ; decrease in blood platelets, which can cause bleeding and bruise more than normal ; decrease the number of white blood cells which can lead to more frequent infections .

Not known:
hallucinations, confusion (especially in patients with a history of these symptoms) ; decreased level of sodium in the blood.

If any of the side effects gets serious , or you notice other effects not listed in this leaflet , please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

5 . HOW TO STORE ASIDUEL
Keep out of reach of children.

For tablet containers of HDPE
Asiduel not use after the expiry date stated on the carton and bottle . The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

For blister packs :
Asiduel not use after the expiry date stated on the carton and blister. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Only for tablet containers of HDPE:
Shelf life after first opening the immediate packaging: 6 months.

This medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions .
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required . These measures will help to protect the environment.

6 . ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
What does Asiduel
The active ingredient is pantoprazole (pantoprazole). Each tablet contains 20 mg of pantoprazole ( pantoprazole sodium sesquihydrate ) .

Other ingredients are:
Core:
calcium stearate , microcrystalline cellulose , crospovidone (type A ), hydroxypropylcellulose (type EXF), anhydrous sodium carbonate , anhydrous colloidal silica.

shell:
hypromellose, iron oxide yellow ( E 172 ) , macrogol 400 , a copolymer of methacrylic acid and - ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1 ), polysorbate 80 , Ponceau 4R aluminum lake ( E124 ) , quinoline yellow aluminum lake ( E104 ) , sodium lauryl sulfate , titanium dioxide (E171 ) , triethyl citrate.

Printing ink:
macrogol 600, shellac , povidone , iron oxide black ( E172 ), iron oxide red ( E172 ), iron oxide yellow (E172) .

Asiduel looks like and contents of pack
Asiduel gastro-resistant tablets are yellow , oval tablets ( coated with a special layer) with black " 20" and are available in :
blister packs of 7 and 14 tablets;
containers 7 and 14 tablets .
