ARTELAC WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?
Artelac is fluid replacement artificial tears and moisturizing contact lenses.
Fields of application:
Symptomatic treatment of the phenomenon of the drying of the cornea and conjunctiva, which is caused by abnormal secretion of tear and functional disorders due to local or systemic diseases, or caused by insufficient or incomplete lid closure. May show symptoms such as burning sensation, feeling of a foreign body and photophobia in the presence of wind, heat and fatigue.

Humidification and reordering hard contact lenses.

2. BEFORE YOU USE ARTELAC

Do not use Artelac:

• if you have hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients of the medicinal product.

Take special care with Artelac

Even when used as shown in, this product has a short-term effect on the visual perception, and thus affect the responsiveness. For these reasons, then you should not drive, operate without support or secure machines.

Using other medicines

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

3. HOW TO USE ARTELAC?
 
Always use Artelac exactly as your doctor tells you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Instructions for dosage, frequency, duration of administration and method of use

The clinical picture of the "dry eye syndrome" requires individual dose regimen. Unless otherwise indicated, place one drop into the conjunctival sac 3 to 5 times daily or more often (if necessary). Also refers to the reordering of hard contact lenses.

Duration of treatment:

This product is typically applied as a continuous or permanent therapy.

If you use more than the amount Artelac

No such data and measures are needed.

If you forget to use Artelac

Do not use a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you stop using Artelac

No discontinuance of Artelac without consultation. Usually you should consult an ophthalmologist when therapy "dry eye syndrome" requires continuous or permanent treatment.

4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Like all medicines, Artelac can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

In rare cases, when it is used can be Artelac hypersensitivity reactions occur in the eye.


Artelac contains cetrimide as a preservative, which can cause eye irritation (burning, redness, foreign body sensation), especially when used frequently and may cause damage to the cornea when used continuously.

If there is such hypersensitivity reactions or eye irritation, please discontinue treatment and consult your doctor. Patients who respond with hypersensitivity to preservatives should be treated with a product without any preservatives.

What measures can be taken if you experience side effects?

If you have a hypersensitivity reaction or eye irritation, please discontinue treatment and consult your doctor.

If any of the side effects gets serious, or you notice other effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

5. HOW TO STORE ARTELAC?

Keep out of reach of children.

Should not be used Artelac after the expiry date stated on the carton and label. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Discard any remaining six weeks after first opening.

Do not store above 30 ° C.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.

What does Artelac?

The active substance is hypromellose (hypromellose). 1 ml of solution contains 3,20 mg hypromellose. The viscosity of the solution is between 7 and 11 mPa s.

The other ingredients are. cetrimide, disodium phosphate dodecahydrate, sodium dihydrogen phosphate dihydrate, sorbitol, edetate disodium and purified water.

What do we mean by the term syndrome "dry eye"?

During the day we blink our approximately 14,000 times. With each nictitating movement on the surface of the eyeball is distributed very thin tear film that makes it smooth, clean and moist and protects the eye from contaminants.
