ARMOTRAZ WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR ?
Armotraz belongs to a group of medicines called aromatase inhibitors. This means that is associated with the action of the aromatase - enzyme in the human body which affects the levels of female sex hormones , such as estrogen.
Armotraz used for treatment of breast cancer in postmenopausal women.
Ask your doctor if you have any questions about what is the effect of Armotraz and why you are prescribed this medicine.

2 . BEFORE YOU TAKE ARMOTRAZ
Follow all instructions of your doctor. They may differ from the general information in this leaflet.

Do not take Armotraz in the following cases :
• if you are premenopausal
• if you are pregnant or breast-feeding
• if you have a disorder or disease that affects the liver and kidneys.
• if you are taking tamoxifen or estrogen - containing medications , such as hormone replacement therapy
• Armotraz should not be given to children
• if you have ever had an allergic reaction to Armotraz or any of its ingredients
• tablets are prescribed to you and should not be given to another.
If any of these apply to you , tell your doctor before you start taking Armotraz .
Take special care with Armotraz :
• if you suffer from a disease that affects the bones
• if taking LHRH analogues ( drugs for the treatment of breast cancer and certain gynecological conditions infertility )
• if you are taking tamoxifen . This can reduce the effect of Armotraz
• if you are taking other medicines, including those you have bought for yourself
• if you suffer from a disease that affects the kidneys and liver
• If you go into hospital, let the medical staff know you are taking Armotraz
• Stop taking the tablets only if your doctor tells you
• Armotraz lowering the female hormones , which can result in loss of bone mineral and to weaken their strength , and thus increase the risk of fractures. At this possible increased risk should be approached according to treatment guidelines for maintaining bone health in postmenopausal women . It is recommended that patients discuss this possible risk and treatment options with their doctors .
If any of these apply to you, tell your doctor. He will take this into account during your treatment with Armotraz .

Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines such as estrogen , tamoxifen analogues of LHRH, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Pregnancy and lactation
Ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medicine .

3 . HOW TO TAKE ARMOTRAZ ?
Always take Armotraz , just as you have been told your doctor. If you do not ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The usual dosage of Armotraz is one tablet once daily. Adoption of Armotraz every day at the same time you will be asked not to miss taking your tablet .

The tablet should be swallowed whole with a glass of water or other liquid.
Continue taking Armotraz every day as long as you to tell your doctor . You may need to take Armotraz for months or even years. If you have questions about how long to continue taking Armotraz , discuss them with your doctor.

If you take more dose Armotraz
If you take too many tablets Armotraz or if someone else accidentally takes your tablets , ask for advice immediately to your doctor or the nearest hospital. Show them your pack of tablets . Can require treatment .

If you forget to take Armotraz
- If it is almost time for your next dose ( eg 2 to 3 hours) , skip the dose you forgot and take your next dose at the usual time.
- Otherwise, take the dose as soon as you remember and then take your next dose at the usual time.
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. If you stop taking Armotraz

Do not stop taking Armotraz until your doctor tells you to.

4 . POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines , Armotraz can cause some side effects , although not everybody gets them.
If any of the side effects gets serious, or you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
This list of side effects should not bother you . You may not experience any of them .

Adverse events can be:
Very common (> 1 patient in 10) !
• hot flushes
• nausea
• tiredness
• pain or stiffness
• headache
• rash
Common (> 1 in 100 to < 1 in 10 patients):
• vaginal dryness
• thinning hair ( alopecia ) , mostly mild and moderate
• anorexia (loss of appetite)
• increasing or high levels of blood lipids
• vomiting
• diarrhea
• carpal tunnel syndrome ( tingling , pain, coldness and weakness in certain areas of the hand )
• drowsiness
• vaginal bleeding (usually in the first week of treatment)
Uncommon (> 1 per 1000 patients , <1 in 100 patients ):
• " finger-snap " ( a condition in which a finger or thumb is bent position )
• allergic reactions such as urticaria or hives
• increase in liver enzymes

Rare (> 1 in 10 000 patients to <1 in 1000 patients):
• inflammation of the liver. Symptoms may include a general feeling of discomfort, with or without jaundice, pain in the liver or enlarged liver

Very rare ( <1 in 10,000 patients):
• very severe skin reactions (Stevens - Dzhonsyn ) with the integrity of the skin , ulceration or blisters
• allergic reactions with swelling of the face , lips, tongue and / or throat (angioedema ) which may cause difficulty in swallowing and / or breathing
If any of these effects affect you severely, tell your doctor.

5 . HOW TO STORE ARMOTRAZ ?
The expiry date of the film-coated tablets Armotraz 3 years. Keep out of reach of children.
Armotraz not use after the expiry date stated on the label and carton . Expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not store above 30 ° C. Store in the original package to protect from moisture.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required . These measures will help to protect the environment.
