ARCOXIA belongs to a group of medicines called COX-2 inhibitors. they belong

ARCOXIA helps reduce pain and swelling (inflammation) in the joints and muscles of people with
osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and gout.

ARCOXIA WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED
ARCOXIA belongs to a group of medicines called COX-2 inhibitors. they belong
to the family of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
ARCOXIA helps reduce pain and swelling (inflammation) in the joints and muscles of people with
osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis and gout.
What is osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis (also referred to as osteoarthrosis) is a disease of the joints, leading to a gradual
destruction of cartilage, which is located at the ends of bones and facilitates
their movement. The result is inflammation, pain, tenderness, stiffness, and
immobilization.
What is rheumatoid arthritis?
Rheumatoid arthritis is a continuous inflammation of the joints. As a result, stiffness causes pain, swelling and increased loss of movement in the affected joints. Inflammatory process may be extended to other osgani body.
What is gout?
Gout is a disease which is characterized by a sudden, recurrent attacks of very
painful inflammation and redness of the joints. It is caused by deposits of mineral crystals in
joints.
What is ankylosing spondylitis?
Ankylosing spondylitis is an inflammatory disease of the spine and large joints.
BEFORE YOU TAKE ARCOXIA
Do not take if you are allergic ARCOXIA (svrahuvstvitelni) to Etoricoxib or any of the other ingredients of ARCOXIA
If you are allergic to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), including aspirin and COX-2 inhibitors
If you have a stomach ulcer or bleeding in your stomach or intestines
If you have severe liver disease
If you have severe kidney disease
If you are pregnant or may become pregnant or breastfeeding
If you are under 16 years
If you have inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis or colitis
If your doctor has diagnosed heart problems including heart failure (moderate or severe), angina (chest pain) or have had a heart attack, bypass surgery, disease, peripheral arterial (poor circulation in the legs due to narrowing or blockage of arteries) or any type of stroke (including micro stroke or transient ischemic attack or T1a). Etoricoxib may slightly increase your risk of heart attack and stroke and therefore should not be used by people who have experienced heart problems or stroke if you have high blood pressure controlled by treatment (check with your doctor or medical nurse if you are unsure whether your blood pressure is adequately controlled)
If you think you have any of these diseases or problems, do not take the tablets until you have consulted your doctor.
Take special care with ARCOXIA
ARCOXIA may be suitable for you or you may need regular monitoring if your condition matches with any of the following conditions: You have a history of stomach bleeding or ulcers
You are dehydrated - for example by a prolonged bout of vomiting or diarrhea
You have swelling due to fluid retention
  Have a history of heart failure, heart attack or other cardiac disease
Have a history of high blood pressure. ARCOXIA can raise blood pressure in some people, especially in high doses and your doctor will want to check your blood pressure.
Have a history of stroke or mini strokes
Have a history of renal disease or a liver
Conducting treat infections ARCOXIA may mask or hide a fever, which is a sign of infection.
You are a woman trying to get pregnant
Have diabetes, high cholesterol or are a smoker? All of these conditions increase the risk of heart disease.
If you are not sure if any of the above apply to you, consult
your doctor before taking ARCOXIA to see if this medicine is suitable for you.
ARCOXIA works equally well in older and younger patients. If you are elderly
(over 65 years), your doctor will want to examine you properly. No dose adjustment is required for elderly patients.
Taking other medicines

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Especially if you are taking any of these medicines, your doctor will ask for a strict monitoring to ensure that the effect of these drugs is effective after taking ARCOXIA:
Anticoagulant drugs (anticoagulants) katoWarfarin

Hormone replacement therapy
Aspirin, the risk of ulcers of the stomach is higher if taking aspirin ARCOXIA

ARCOXIA can be taken with low-dose aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid). If you are taking low-dose aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) for the prevention of heart attack and stroke, you should stop taking it until you consult your doctor.
Should not be considered anti-inflammatory drugs or aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) at high dose with ARCOXIA.

Pregnancy and lactation

ARCOXIA tablets should not be taken during pregnancy. If you are certainly

in these tablets. If you become pregnant during treatment, stop taking the tablets and

It is not known whether ARCOXIA is excreted in human milk.

If you are taking ARCOXIA should not breastfeed.

If you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed, talk to your doctor before being treated with
ARCOXIA.

Driving and using machines

Some patients who are being treated with ARCOXIA reported dizziness and drowsiness. Avoid driving or operating machinery if you have dizziness or drowsiness.

Important information about some of the ingredients of ARCOXIA

HOW TO TAKE ARCOXIA

ARCOXIA tablets should not be taken by children or adolescents under 16 years. Take ARCOXIA tablets orally once daily.

ARCOXIA can be taken on an empty stomach or with food.

Do not exceed the recommended dose to treat your disease. Your doctor will discuss your treatment. It is important to use the lowest dose that controls your pain and you should not take ARCOXIA for longer than necessary. This is because the risk of heart attack or stroke, which may increase after prolonged treatment, especially with high doses.

osteoarthritis
The recommended dose is 30 mg once daily, increased to a maximum 60td once daily.
rheumatoid arthritis
The recommended dose is 90 mg once a day.
gout
The recommended dose of 120 mg once a day, and should be used only during the period of
flare, and the treatment is limited to a maximum of 8 days.
ankylosing spondylitis
The recommended dose is 90 mg once daily
People with liver problems
If you have mild liver disease should not take more than 60 mg daily.
If you have moderate liver disease should not take more than 60 mg every other day

If you take more ARCOXIA

You should never take more tablets than prescribed by your doctor. If you take too many tablets ARCOXIA should immediately seek medical help.

If you forget to take ARCOXIA

It is important to take ARCOXIA as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet. Restore the usual treatment regimen the next day.

POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS

Like all medicines, ARCOXIA can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them ..
If you notice any of these signs, you should stop taking ARCOXIA and inform your doctor:

Shortness of breath, chest pain or ankle swelling or if they get worse, yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice) - these are signs of liver problems.
Strong and persistent abdominal pain or black stool.
Allergic reaction - which can include skin problems such as ulcers or vesicles or edema
face, lips, tongue or throat which may cause difficulty in breathing.
During treatment with ARCOXIA may experience the following side effects:

HOW TO STORE ARCOXIA

Keep out of reach of children.
ARCOXIA not use after the expiry date stated on the pack. The expiry date
the last day of that month.

Bottles: Keep the container tightly closed to protect from moisture.

Blisters: Store in the original package to protect from moisture.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

What does ARCOXIA

The active ingredient is etoricoxib. Each tablet contains 60 mg eterocoxib.

Other ingredients are:

Tablet core: calcium hydrogen phosphate (anhydrous), croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose.

Tablet coating: carnauba wax, lactose monohydrate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), triacetin.

Tablets of 30, 60 and 120 mg also contain also iron oxide yellow (E172) and indigo carmine (E132).

ARCOXIA looks like and contents of pack

ARCOXIA 60 mg tablet is a light green, apple-shaped, biconvex film-coated tablet with ARCOXIA 60 on one side.
