What Anapen Junior and what it is used
Anapen Junior consists of a pre -filled syringe of adrenaline contained in automatic injection device ( auto-injector ) . He injected a single dose of adrenaline into the muscle.
This medicinal product is intended for emergency treatment and you should seek immediate medical attention after administration.
Adrenaline is a natural hormone that is released during stress. Acute allergic reactions it improves blood pressure, heart function and breathing , and reduces swelling . Adrenaline is also known as epinephrine .
Anapen Junior is indicated for emergency treatment of severe allergic reactions or anaphylaxis caused by peanuts or other foods, drugs , bites or stings from insects and other allergens, as well as anaphylaxis , exercise , or unknown origin .

2 . What you should know before using Anapen Junior
Do not use Anapen Junior
if you are allergic to adrenaline ( epinephrine ) or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in Section 6) (see below for information on the content of sulphites ) .
Warnings and Precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Anapen Junior .
Your doctor should carefully instruct you when and how to properly use auto- injector Anapen Junior .
You should tell your doctor if you suffer from heart disease, including angina pectoris (chest pain), hyperthyroidism (increased thyroid function ) , high blood pressure , decreased potassium levels and increased levels of calcium in the blood , abnormal blood circulation , pheochromocytoma ( tumor in the adrenal gland ) , increased intraocular pressure ( glaucoma ) , kidney or prostate , diabetes or any other disease.
Repeated local injection can cause skin damage. Accidental injection into a blood vessel can lead to a sudden increase in blood pressure. Accidental injection into the hands or feet may cause interruption of blood supply to the affected area . You must immediately seek medical attention at the nearest hospital.
Other medicines and Anapen Junior
You should also tell your doctor if you are taking medicines, especially :
drugs for heart disease, such as digitalis ( digoxin ) , beta-blockers , quinidine ;
medicines for depression , such as tricyclic antidepressants , monoamine oxidase inhibitors of the reuptake of serotonin and noradrenalin ;
medicines for diabetes ; Your doctor may change the dose of your medicine after using Anapen Junior ;
drugs for the treatment of Parkinson's disease ;
drugs for the treatment of diseases of the thyroid gland ;
other drugs : antihistamines such as diphenhydramine or chlorpheniramine , theophylline , ipratropium and oxitropium (used for the treatment of airways diseases , including asthma ) , oxytocin (used for birth , during pregnancy ) , inhaled anesthetics, alpha - adrenergic blockers ( used to treat high blood pressure ) , sympathomimetics (used for the treatment of asthma , other diseases of the airways and obstruction of the nasal passages ) .
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking , have recently taken or take any other medicines , including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Anapen Junior with food, drinks and alcohol
Alcohol may adversely affect this medicine as enhance its effects .

Pregnancy, lactation and fertility
It is not known whether administration of adrenaline during pregnancy is not a risk to the unborn child. If you are pregnant , this should not discourage you from using Anapen Junior in an emergency, when your life is in danger. You should discuss this with your doctor before such an emergency occurs .
Not expected to have adrenaline any effect on the infant.
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, you may be pregnant or planning to become pregnant , ask your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.

Driving and using machines
You should not drive or operate machinery after injection of this medicine, since you will still be affected by the symptoms of anaphylactic shock.

Anapen Junior contain metabisulphite ( E223 ) which may cause allergic-type reactions and breathing difficulties , especially in patients with a history of asthma.
You should tell your doctor if you know that you have an allergy to sodium metabisulfite .

3 . How to use Anapen Junior
Always use this medicine exactly as your told your doctor or pharmacist. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Anapen Junior injected only into the muscle of the thigh.
Anapen Junior is for single use only . Please provide safe disposal immediately after use.
Typically, the reaction begins within minutes after contact with the allergen , and the patient may feel :
itchy skin, raised hives (hives) , swelling and redness of the eyes, lips, or tongue ;
difficulty breathing due to the swelling of the throat. Tightening of the muscles in the lungs can lead to wheezing, shortness of breath and cough;
other symptoms of anaphylaxis, including headache , nausea and diarrhea ;
collapse and loss of consciousness due to a sudden drop in blood pressure.
When you experience these signs and symptoms , administer immediately Anapen Junior . You only have to inject into the muscle of the outer thigh , not the buttock .

Use in adults
The recommended dose is 300 micrograms.
Larger adults may need another injection to control the effects of an allergic reaction.
In cases where a single dose of epinephrine is not sufficient to completely address the effects of an allergic reaction can be given a second injection after 10-15 minutes.
Use in children
The recommended dose is 150 micrograms ( Anapen Junior ) or 300 micrograms ( Anapen ) adrenaline.
It depends on the weight of the child and the discretion of the physician.
Auto- injector is designed to deliver a single dose of 150 micrograms of adrenaline. For children under 15 kg, a dose lower than 150 micrograms can not be applied with sufficient accuracy and therefore use is not recommended , except in life-threatening situations and on the advice of the doctor.
You should tell your doctor or visit the nearest hospital as soon as possible after use Anapen Junior . Explain that you have been an injection of epinephrine into the thigh muscle . Show the doctor the carton and this leaflet.

Instructions for use
A. Components of the auto- injector Anapen
Before using the auto- injector Anapen , you should be familiar with its parts.
Black protective needle cap ( reverzibelna ) ;

Window casing : Look through the lens of the rotating coating solution in the window to make sure that the solution is clean and ready for use.
Indicator injection: Before injection, you can see through the window a white plastic plunger . This means that the auto- injector Anapen was not used inadvertently or intentionally. After injecting the indicator turns red . This means that the auto- injector Anapen used properly.
Black protective needle cap ( reverzibelna ): cap protects the needle when not in use auto- injector Anapen . Before the injection , remove the cap. After the injection , put the black cap back on the same end of the auto- injector to cover the needle.
Gray protective cap : It covers the red starter button and thus prevents it from accidentally pressing .
Do not remove the black or gray protective cap before you need to use an auto- injector .

B. Check auto- injector Anapen
Before use, check the auto- injector Anapen as follows:
1. Rotate clockwise rotating coating as shown by the arrow , so as to level it with the lens of the window casing , which is visible in the solution.
2 . Look through the lens of the rotating coating solution in the window. Make sure the solution is clear and colorless. If it is cloudy, colored or contains particles, discard the autoinjector Anapen .
3 . Make sure the light is not colored red. If it is colored in red, it means that the auto- injector Anapen been used and must dispose of it .
4 . Rotate clockwise rotating coating as shown by the arrow , so as to level it with the lens of the window casing , which is visible in the solution. Reinstall Antoine injector Anapen in the carton until you need to use.

C. Use of the auto- injector Anapen
If the black protective cap is removed , you should not put your thumb , fingers or hand over the open end ( the end with the needle ) auto- injector Anapen .

To uses auto- injector Anapen , you must follow the below steps.
1. Remove the black protective cap by dralvane strongly in the direction shown by the arrow . This removed and the gray needle shield .
2 . Remove the black protective cap from the red starter button by pulling in the direction shown by the arrow .

6 . After injection, the needle still protruding . To cover it , click on the wide end of the black protective cap back on the open end ( the end with the needle ) auto- injector Anapen (as shown by the arrow) .

If you use more than the amount Anapen Junior
If you use more than the amount of adrenaline or accidental injection into a blood vessel or finger , you should immediately seek help from a doctor at the nearest hospital.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4 . Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them .
Anapen Junior metabisulfatt contains sodium ( E223 ) which may cause allergic-type reactions and breathing difficulties , especially in patients with a history of asthma. You should immediately seek help from a doctor if you experience these side effects .
Common side effects of epinephrine include feeling of heartbeat ( palpitations) , rapid or irregular heartbeat , sweating, nausea , vomiting , difficulty breathing, dizziness , weakness, paleness , tremors , headache, anxiety, nervousness , anxiety and coldness in the extremities .
Other less frequently reported side effects include hallucinations , fainting, dilated pupils , difficulty in urination, muscle tremors , increased blood pressure and changes in the blood, high blood sugar , low in potassium and high in acid .
In individual cases, at high doses or in sensitive individuals may occur sudden increase in blood pressure, which can cause bleeding in the brain , irregular heartbeat , and heart attack, and reduced blood flow to the skin , mucous membranes and kidneys.

5 . How to store Anapen Junior
Keep out of reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the label of the auto- injector and carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not store above 25 ° C.
Store in the original package to protect from light.
Before use or expired Anapen hospital or pharmacist for safe disposal.
Do not dispose of medications in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required . These measures will help to protect the environment.
