Your medicine is called Alnair. Alnair belongs to the group of drugs known as aromatase inhibitors. These drugs may affect the action of the substance called aromatase, which is required for the production of female sex hormones, particularly estrogens in postmenopausal women.

ALNAIR WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED
Your medicine is called Alnair . Alnair belongs to the group of drugs known as aromatase inhibitors . These drugs may affect the action of the substance called aromatase , which is required for the production of female sex hormones , particularly estrogens in postmenopausal women . Lowering the levels of estrogens in the body is a method for the treatment of hormone-dependent breast cancer.
Alnair used to treat hormone-dependent breast cancer in early stage , in postmenopausal women having completed 2-3 years of therapy with the drug tamoxifen called . It is also used for treatment of hormone-dependent advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women when other hormonal drugs do not work well enough .

2 . BEFORE YOU TAKE ALNAIR
Do not take Alnair :
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to exemestane (the active ingredient of this drug ), or any of the other ingredients of Alnair (please see section 6) ;
If you are not yet menopausal , ie if you still have menstruation ;
if you are pregnant, may be pregnant or breast-feeding.

Take special care with Alnair :
Before starting treatment with Alnair , your doctor may order a blood test to make sure that you have entered menopause.
Before you take Alnair tell your doctor if you have liver problems or kidney .
If you have ever had or currently have any condition that alters the strength of your bones . This is because the drugs of this class of lower levels of female hormones and this may lead to loss of bone mineral content , which might reduce its strength . It may be necessary to conduct a study of bone density before and during treatment . Your doctor may give you medicine to prevent or treat bone loss .
 
Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines , including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Alnair should not be taken at the same time a hormone replacement therapy ( HRT) . Alnair while taking the following medications should be taken with caution. Tell your doctor
if you take medicines such as:
rifampicin ( antibiotic) ;
carbamazepine or phenytoin ( an anticonvulsant used to treat epilepsy)
herbal preparations known as St. John's wort (Hypericum perforatum) or that contain it .
 
Pregnancy and lactation
Alnair not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant , contact your doctor.
If there is any chance of becoming pregnant, discuss with your doctor about contraception methods .

Driving and using machines
If you feel drowsy, dizzy or faint while taking Alnair should not drive or operate machinery.

3 . HOW TO TAKE ALNAIR
Always take Alnair exactly as your doctor tells you . If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Your doctor will tell you how and how long to take Alnair .

Adults and elderly
The usual dose is one tablet of 25 mg daily.
Alnair tablets should be taken orally after a meal , at about the same time of day.

Children and adolescents
Alnair is not suitable for use in children and adolescents.

If you take more dose Alnair
If you accidentally take too many tablets , contact your doctor immediately or go without delay to the nearest emergency room . Show them the pack of Alnair tablets.

If you forget to take Alnair
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you forget to take your tablet , take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, take it at the usual time .

If you stop taking Alnair
Do not stop taking your tablets even if you feel well , unless recommended by your doctor .

4 . POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Alnair can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them . Alnair generally well tolerated , and the following adverse reactions observed in patients treated with Alnair are usually mild or moderate in nature. The majority of adverse
reactions are due to estrogen deficiency (eg hot flushes) .

Very common side effects (seen in more than 1 user in 10 ):
Difficulty sleeping ;
headache ;
Hot flashes ;
nausea ;
Increased sweating ;
Muscle and joint pain (including osteoarthritis , back pain , arthritis and joint stiffness ) ;
Tiredness .
Common side effects ( seen in more than 1 in 100 but less than 1 in 10 users) :
Loss of appetite ;
depression ;
Dizziness, carpal tunnel syndrome (a combination of tingling and numbness , cramps and pain affecting the whole hand except the little finger ) ;
Stomach pain , vomiting, constipation , indigestion, diarrhea ;
Skin rash , hair loss ;
Thinning of the bones, which may lead to a decrease in their strength (osteoporosis ) , resulting in a bone fracture , in some cases ;
Pain and swelling of the hands and feet.
Uncommon adverse reactions (occurring in more than 1 1, 000, but less than 1 in 100 users) :
drowsiness;
Muscle weakness.
Might occur inflammation of the liver (hepatitis) . Symptoms include malaise, nausea, jaundice ( yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes) , itching, right-sided abdominal pain and loss of appetite. If you think you have any of these symptoms, call your doctor.
If you have a blood test can be found that there are changes in liver function , changes in the number of certain blood cells ( lymphocytes) and platelets (blood cells that play a role in blood clotting) circulating in your blood especially in patients with pre-existing lymphopenia (decreased number of lymphocytes in the blood).
If any of the side effects gets serious, or you notice any neopisann in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

5 . HOW TO STORE ALNAIR
Keep out of reach of children.
Alnair not use after the expiry date stated on the carton after " EXP" date refers to the last day of that month.
This medicine does not require any special storage conditions .
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required . These measures will help to protect the environment.

What does Alnair
The active agent is exemestane . Each tablet contains 25 mg of exemestane .
Other ingredients are:
Core:
Mannitol, copovidone , crospovidone, silitsifitsirana microcrystalline cellulose , sodium starch glycolate ( type A), magnesium stearate.

Film coating :
Hypromellose , macrogol 400 , titanium dioxide .

Alnair looks like and contents of pack
White to off-white , round, biconvex tablet , debossed with the number " 25" on one side and plain on the other .

Alnair comes in packs of :
10, 14 , 20, 30 , 50x1, 60 , 90, 100 ( blister 10 or 14) film-coated tablets .
Not all pack sizes may be marketed.
