Aksef is an antibiotic of the cephalosporin type, and is active against various strains of Gram-positive, Gram-negative and some anaerobic microorganisms. After oral administration Aksef 250 is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Aksef 250 due to a bactericidal action of the main component cefuroxime, which is active as a broad range of clinically relevant pathogens.

Contents Aksef 250?
 
Each tablet contains 250 Aksef Sefuroxime axetil as an active substance, which is equivalent to 250 mg Sefuroxime.
Excipients starch, crospovidone, croscarmellose sodium, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate, aerosil 200
Colours: Titanium Dioxide
Aksef 250 is available in packs of 10 and 20 tablets.
 
How does Aksef 250?
Aksef is an antibiotic of the cephalosporin type, and is active against various strains of Gram-positive, Gram-negative and some anaerobic microorganisms. After oral administration Aksef 250 is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. Aksef 250 due to a bactericidal action of the main component cefuroxime, which is active as a broad range of clinically relevant pathogens and beta-lactamase-producing strains. Aksef 250 is active against resistant to penicillin and amoxicillin strains.
 
What cures Aksef 250?
* Infections of the lower respiratory tract infections: acute bronchitis, acute & chronic bronchitis and pneumonia.
* Infections of the upper respiratory tract: ENT infections such as otitis media, sinusitis, tonsillitis and pharyngitis.
* Urogenital infections: pyelonephritis, cystitis and urethritis.
* Infections of the skin and soft tissue: furunculosis, pyoderma and impetigo.
* Gonorrhea: acute uncomplicated gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis.
 
When not to apply Aksef 250?
Aksef 250 should not be used if you are allergic to antibiotics of cephalosporin.
Special warnings and precautions during treatment with Aksef 250?
Please tell your doctor if: If the result of the use of penicillin have received an anaphylactic reaction (severe and generalized allergic reaction that causes swelling, spasms of bronchioles, heart failure and kollaps) If, during or after a previous use of broad-spectrum have received antibiotics diarrhea or colitis (pseudomembranous) If you are on hemodialysis (bear in mind that the product is removed by hemodialysis) If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, the physician should taking in the risk-benefit.
 
What interactions occur between Aksef 250 and other drugs are being treated?
Co-administration of 250 Aksef potentially nephrotoxic drugs such as ANSA diuretics (drugs that stimulate urination) and aminoglycosides (antibiotics), caution is required.

How to take Aksef 250?
Dosage and duration of treatment must be determined by your doctor. Recommended doses for adults and children over 12 years:
Infections Recommended dose course of treatment
Pharyngitis, laryngitis, sinusitis 250 mg 2 times a day, 10 days
Acute bronchitis 250 mg or 500 mg of 2 times daily Days 5-10
Worsening of chronic bronchitis 250 mg or 500 mg two times a day 10 days
Urogenital infections: pyelonephritis, cystitis and urethritis 125 mg or 250 mg two times daily for 7-10 days
Infections of skin and soft tissue: furunculosis, pyoderma and impetigo 250 mg or 500 mg two times a day 10 days
Gonorrhea 1000 mg once
Aksef 250 should be taken after food. Tablets Aksef 250 must not be broken. Keep taking the medicine until after the course of treatment. Do not stop just because you feel better - the drug can not destroy pathogenic microorganisms.
While taking Aksef 250?
If you make a mistake and take more of that dose can cause irritation of the central nervous system and seizures. Please immediately contact a doctor.
 
What side effects may cause Aksef 250?
Adverse reactions were usually mild and transient. In rare cases, can occur following side effects: multiform exudative erythema, Stevens-Johnson, toxic epidermal necrolysis, hypersensitivity reactions (such as rash, hives, itching, fever and rarely anaphylactic reactions). Rarely can appear as diarrhea, vomiting, and headache.
Rare and transient distortions are the blood line: eosinophilia, leukopenia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia and others. In some patients it is possible transient increase in liver enzymes (ALT, AST) and Coombs positive test (test for diagnosis of Rh incompatibility).
