Your medicine is called ACRUX. Its active ingredient is candesartan cilexetil. It belongs to a group of medicines known as angiotensin-II receptor antagonists. Exerts its effects as relax and widen your blood vessels.

ACRUX WHAT IS AND WHAT IT IS USED
Your medicine is called AKRUKS . Its active ingredient is candesartan cilexetil . It belongs to a group of medicines known as angiotensin -II receptor antagonists. Exerts its effects as relax and widen your blood vessels . This helps to lower your blood pressure. Also facilitates heart in pushing blood to all parts of your body.

This medicine is used for:
Treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults ;
Treatment of adult patients with heart failure and reduced function of the cardiac muscle , in addition to the treatment with angiotensin converting enzyme ( ACE ), or when it can not be used ACE inhibitors ( ACE inhibitors are a group of drugs used to treat heart failure ) .

2 . BEFORE YOU TAKE ACRUX
Do not take ACRUX
if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to candesartan cilexetil or any of the other ingredients of AKRUKS (see section 6) ;
if you are pregnant after the third month ( it is better to avoid taking AKRUKS in early pregnancy - see Pregnancy section ):
if you have severe liver disease or biliary obstruction (problems with drainage of bile from the gall bladder) .
If you are not sure if any of these apply to you , talk to your doctor or pharmacist before you start taking AKRUKS .

Take special care with ACRUX
Before you start taking ACRUX or while taking it , tell your doctor :
If you have heart problems, liver or kidney problems , or if you are on dialysis ;
If you have recently had a kidney transplant ;
If you vomit , have recently had severe bouts of vomiting or have diarrhea ;
If you have a disease of the adrenal glands called " Knight Syndrome " ( also called " primary hyperaldosteronism" ) ;
If you have low blood pressure;
If you have ever had a stroke ;
You should tell your doctor if you are pregnant (or might become) pregnant . AKRUKS intake in early pregnancy is not recommended , but if you're after the third month of pregnancy , you should take it as it may cause serious harm to your baby if used at that stage ( see section Pregnancy ) .
If you have any of these conditions , your doctor may want to see you more often and you do further research .
If you have surgery, tell your doctor or dentist that you are taking AKRUKS . The reason for this is that the combination of certain AKRUKS anesthetic may cause a sharp lowering of blood pressure .

Use in children
There is no experience with the use of AKRUKS in children ( under 18 years). Therefore AKRUKS should not be given to children .

Taking other medicines
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines , including medicines obtained without a prescription.
AKRUKS may affect the way other medicines work and some medicines can affect the way AKRUKS . If you use certain drugs periodically may be necessary for your doctor to have a blood test .
Tell your doctor , especially if you use any of the following :
Other drugs for lowering blood pressure , including beta blockers , diazoxide and ACE inhibitors such as enalapril , captopril , lisinopril or ramipril ;
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs ) such as ibuprofen , naproxen , diclofenac , celecoxib or etoricoxib ( medicines for relief of pain and inflammation ) ;
Acetylsalicylic acid ( if taking more than 3 grams per day - a medicament for the alleviation of pain and inflammation ) ;
Potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes ( medicines that increase the concentration of potassium in the blood) ;
Heparin ( an anti- drug) ;
Water tablets ( diuretics) ;
Lithium (a medicine for mental illness) .

Taking ACRUX with food and drink (especially alcohol)
You may take AKRUKS with or without food.
When you are prescribed AKRUKS , talk to your doctor before you drink alcohol. Alcohol can cause weakness or dizziness .

Pregnancy and lactation
pregnancy
You should tell your doctor if you are (or might become) pregnant. Your doctor will normally advise you to stop taking AKRUKS before you become pregnant or as soon as possible while making sure that you are pregnant and will advise you to take another medicine instead AKRUKS . AKRUKS use is not recommended in early pregnancy, and must not be taken if you are pregnant after the third month , as it may cause serious harm to your baby.

breastfeeding
Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed . AKRUKS not recommended for mothers who are breast feeding , and your doctor may choose another treatment for you if you wish to breast-feed , especially if your baby is newborn, or was born prematurely .

Driving and using machines
During the intake ACRUX some people may experience fatigue or dizziness . If this happens, do not drive or operate any tools or machines.

Important information about some of the ingredients of ACRUX
AKRUKS contains lactose which is a type of sugar. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars , consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

3 . HOW TO TAKE ACRUX
Always take AKRUKS exactly as you told your doctor. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist. It is important to take AKRUKS every day.
You may take AKRUKS with or without food.
Swallow the tablet with some water.
Try to take the tablet every day at the same time. This will help you to remember to take it .

Hypertension
The usual dose of ACRUX 8 mg once daily. Your doctor may increase this dose to 16 mg once daily , or even up to 32 mg once a day , depending on how it affects blood pressure .
In some patients such as those with liver problems , kidney problems or have recently lost large amounts of body fluids - for example as a result of vomiting or diarrhea, or taking water tablets , your doctor may prescribe a lower starting dose.
Some black patients affected by the drug of this type may be less , when taken as a single treatment , and such patients may require a higher dose .

heart failure
The usual starting dose of ACRUX is 4 mg once daily. Your doctor may increase your dose her doubled over a period of at least two weeks - until a dose of 32 mg once daily. AKRUKS can be taken along with other medications for heart failure, and your doctor will decide which treatment is appropriate for you.

If you take a larger dose than necessary ACRUX
If you take a larger dose AKRUKS prescribed by your doctor , contact your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

If you forget to take ACRUX
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten tablet. Just take the next dose as usual.

If you stop taking ACRUX
If you stop taking AKRUKS your blood pressure may rise again. Therefore you should not stop taking AKRUKS without first talking to your doctor.

If you have any further questions on the use of this product , ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4 . POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, ACRUX can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them . It is important to know what can be the side effects .

Stop taking AKRUKS and seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following allergic reactions :
difficulty breathing with or without swelling of the face , lips, tongue and / or throat ;
swelling of face, lips, tongue and / or throat that may cause difficulty in swallowing ;
severe itching of the skin ( with raised lumps) .

AKRUKS can cause a decrease in white blood cells. Your resistance to infection may be reduced and you may notice fatigue , infection or fever . If this happens , contact your doctor. Your doctor may periodically perform tests on blood values to check whether AKRUKS affect your blood (agranulocytosis ) .

Other possible side effects include
Common ( affect 1 to 10 users in 100):
Dizziness / vertigo ;
headache ;
Respiratory tract infections ;
Low blood pressure . As a result, you may feel tired or dizzy ;
Changes in blood test results : increasing the level of potassium in your blood , especially if you have kidney problems or heart failure. If this increase is large, you may experience fatigue , weakness, irregular heartbeat or numbness ;
Effect on renal function, especially if you already have kidney problems or heart failure. In very rare cases can develop kidney failure.

Rare ( less influenced by the user 1 10 , 000) :
Swelling of face, lips, tongue and / or throat ;
Reduction in red or white blood cells. You may feel tired , develop an infection or your temperature to rise ;
Skin rash , lumpy (urticaria) ;
itching;
Back pain , pain in joints and muscles ;
Changes in liver function , including inflammation of the liver (hepatitis) . You may feel tired, you notice yellowing of the skin and eclairs (' white ') eyes , and you have flu-like symptoms ;
nausea ;
Changes in the results of your blood tests - lowering the level of sodium in the blood . If this decrease is severe, you may feel weakness , lack of energy or muscle cramps.
If any of the side effects gets serious, or you notice other effects not listed in this leaflet , please tell your doctor or pharmacist.

5 . HOW TO STORE ACRUX
Keep out of reach of children.
AKRUKS not use after the expiry date stated on the carton after " EXP" . The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
This medicinal product does not require any special storage conditions .
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medications that are no longer needed you . These measures will help to protect the environment.
